And the story of the slander is that a group of hypocrites spoke about the honor of Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, and by Allah, their intention was not Aisha, but their intention was the Messenger of Allah: to defile his bed and to bring upon him disgrace, and we seek refuge in Allah!

But Allah - and all praise be to Him - exposed them, and said: "And whoever takes upon himself the greatest part of it from them, he has a great punishment."

He swore Abu Bakr that he would not spend on him, and Abu Bakr was the one who spent on him, so Allah most High said: "And let not those with virtue among you and those with abundance swear not to give to their close relatives and the needy."
