وَAndأَنْتُمْyouلَاnotتَعْلَمُونَknow
And you do not know.
يَعْنِيIt means::لَاdo notاجْعَلُواmakeلِلَّهِfor Allahمَثَلًاan example،,فَتَقُولُونَso you say::مَثَلُlikeاللَّهِAllahكَمَثَلِas an example ofكَيْفَsuchوَكَذَاand such!!أَوْorتَجْعَلُواyou makeلَهُfor himشَرِيكًاa partnerفِيinالْعِبَادَةِworship
It means: do not make an example for Allah, saying: like Allah as such and such! Or you make for Him a partner in worship.
هُوَHeإِنَّIndeedاللَّهَAllahيَعْلَمُknowsوَandأَنْتُمْyouلَاnotتَعْلَمُونَknow..
Indeed, Allah knows and you do not know.
يَعْنِيIt means::أَنَّهُthat HeسُبْحَانَهُExaltedوَتَعَالَىand Almightyيَعْلَمُknowsبِأَنَّهُthat Heلَيْسَis notلَهُfor Himمَثَلٌan example،,وَقَدْand hasأَخْبَرَكُمْinformed youبِأَنَّهُthat Heلَاnotمَثَلٌan exampleلَهُfor Him؛;فِيinقَوْلِهِHis saying::وَandلَيْسَis notكَمِثْلِهِlike Himشَيْءٌanything،,وَقَوْلُهُand His saying::وَلَمْand notيَكُنْhas beenلَهُfor themكُفُؤٌany equivalentأَحَدٌanyone،,وَقَوْلُهُand His saying::هَلْIs thereتَعْلَمُyou knowلَهُfor Himسَمِيٌّan equivalent؟?
It means: that He, Exalted and Almighty, knows that there is no equivalent for Him, and He has informed you that there is none for Him; in His saying: 'And there is nothing like Him,' and in His saying: 'And there has never been for Him any equivalent,' and in His saying: 'Do you know of any equivalent for Him?' ...
وَمَاAnd whatأَشْبَهَis similarذَٰلِكَto that؛;فَاللَّهُSo Allahيَعْلَمُknowsوَأَنْتُمْand youلَاdo notتَعْلَمُونَknow..
And what is similar to that; so Allah knows and you do not know.
وَقَدْAnd hasيُقَالُit is said::إِنَّthatهَذِهِthisالْجُمْلَةُsentenceتَتَضَمَّنُincludesالدَّلِيلَthe evidenceالْوَاضِحَclearعَلَىthatأَنْthatاللَّهَAllahلَيْسَis notلَهُfor Himمَثَلٌan example،,وَأَنَّهَاand that itكَضَرْبٍlike an exampleالْمَثَلِthe exampleفِيinامْتِنَاعٍimpossibilityالْمَثَلِof equivalent؛;لِأَنَّنَاbecause weنَحْنُweلَاdo notنَعْلَمُknowوَandاللَّهَAllahيَعْلَمُknows؛;فَإِذَاso ifانتَفَىis negatedالْعِلْمُknowledgeعَنَّاfrom us،,وَثَبَتَand establishedلِلَّهِfor Allah؛;فَأَيْنَthen whereالْمَمَاثَلَةُthe similarity؟?
It may be said: This sentence includes clear evidence that Allah does not have an example, and that it is like making an example about the impossibility of equivalence; because we do not know and Allah knows; so if knowledge is negated from us, and established for Allah; then where is the similarity?!
هَلْDoيُمَاثِلُis similarالْجَاهِلُthe ignorantمِنْto whomكَانَwasعَالِمًاknowledgeable؟?
Does the ignorant resemble the knowledgeable?
وَيُدَلِّكَAnd guides youعَلَىtoنَقْصٍthe deficiency::عِلْمُنَاour knowledgeأَنَّthatالْإِنْسَانَthe humanلَاnotيَعْلَمُknowsمَاwhatيَفْعَلُdoesفِيinالْيَوْمِthe dayالتَّالِيnext::وَمَاAnd whatتَدْرِيyou knowنَفْسٌa soulمَاذَاwhatتَكْسِبُyou earnغَدًاtomorrow؛;لُقْمَانُLuqman::٣٤34
And guides you to the deficiency of our knowledge: that the human does not know what he does in the next day: 'And no soul knows what it will earn tomorrow.' [Luqman: 34]
وَأَنَّAnd thatالْإِنْسَانَthe humanلَاnotيَعْلَمُknowsرُوحَهُhis soulالَّتِيthatبَيْنَbetweenجَنْبَيْهِhis sides::وَيَسْأَلُونَكَAnd they ask youعَنِaboutالرُّوحِthe soulقُلْSayالرُّوحُThe soulمِنْis fromأَمْرِthe matter ofرَبِّيmy Lord
And that the human does not know his soul which is between his sides: 'And they ask you about the soul, say: The soul is from the matter of my Lord.'
وَمَاAnd whatزَالَremainsالْفَلَاسِفَةُthe philosophersوَالْمُتَفَلْسِفَةُand the philosophersوَغَيْرُهُمْand othersيَبْحَثُونَseekعَنْaboutحَقِيقَةِthe truthهَذِهِthisالرُّوحِthe soul،,وَلَمْand they did notيَصِلُواreachإِلَىtoحَقِيقَتِهَاits realityمَعَwithأَنَّهَاthat itهِيَisمَادَّةٌthe matterالْحَيَاةِof life،,وَهَذَاand thisيَدُلُّindicatesعَلَىtoنُقْصَانٍthe deficiencyالْعِلْمِknowledgeفِيinالْمَخْلُوقِthe created being،,وَلِهَذَاand for thisقَالَsaidتَعَالَىthe Exalted::وَمَاAnd whatأُوتِيتُمْyou have been givenمِنَofالْعِلْمِthe knowledgeإِلَّاexceptقَلِيلًاa little،,وَمَاand whatأُوتِيتُمْyou have been givenمِنَofالْعِلْمِthe knowledgeإِلَّاexceptقَلِيلًاa little
And the philosophers and the philosophers and others continue to seek the truth of this soul, and they have not reached its reality even though it is the matter of life, and this indicates the deficiency of knowledge in the created being, and for this, the Exalted said: 'And what you have been given of knowledge is but little.'
