فَالجَوَابُThen the answer::أَنَّهُis thatلَوْifأَمْكَنَit were possibleوَوَقَعَand occurred؛;لَزِمَit would followأَنْthatيَخْتَلُّthe order would become chaoticنِظَامُthe systemالْعَالَمِof the universe
Then the answer is that if it were possible and occurred; it would follow that the order of the universe would become chaotic.
ثُمَّThenإِنَّindeedاصطلاحَهُمَاtheir terminologyلاdoes notيَكُونُbeإِلَّاexceptلِخَوْفِfor the fearكُلِّeachواحِدٍoneمِنْهُمَاof them,,وَحِينَئِذٍand thenلاdoes notتَصْلَحُbe suitableالرُّبُوبِيَّةُthe lordshipلِواحِدٍfor oneمِنْهُمَاof them؛;لِعَجْزِهِdue to his inabilityعَنْtoمُقَاوَمَةِresistingالْآخَرِthe other
Then indeed their terminology does not exist except for the fear of each one of them from the other; and then, the lordship would not be suitable for any one of them due to his inability to resist the other.
ثُمَّThenقَالَHe saidتَعَالَىExalted::﴿ سُبْحَانَGlorifiedاللَّهِis Allahعَمَّاabout whatيَصِفُونَthey describe
Then He (Allah) said: "Glorified is Allah above what they describe."
أَيThat is::تَنْزِيهًاa declaration of His purityلِلَّهِfor Allahعَزَّ وَجَلَّThe Almighty and Exaltedعَمَّfrom whatيَصِفُهُthey describe Him withبِهِwithالْمُلْحِدُونَthe atheistsالْمُشْرِكُونَand the polytheistsالَّذِينَthose whoيَقُولُونَsayفِيaboutاللَّهِAllahسُبْحَانَهُGlory be to Himمَاwhatلاnotيَلِيقُbecome worthyبِهِto Him
That is: a declaration of His purity for Allah, the Almighty and Exalted, from what the atheists and polytheists say about Allah, glory be to Him, that which is not worthy of Him.
عَلِمَHe knowsالْغَيْبَthe unseenوَandالشَّهَادَةَthe witnessed (reality)::الْغَيْبُThe unseen::مَاwhatغَابَis hiddenعَنْfromالنَّاسِpeople،,وَالشَّهَادَةُand the witnessed::مَاwhatشَهِدَهَاthey witnessالنَّاسُthe people..
He knows the unseen and the witnessed: the unseen is what has been hidden from people, and the witnessed is what people witness.
وَAndفَتَعَالَىExalted is Heعَمَّfrom whatيُشْرِكُونَthey associate (with Him)::فَتَعَالَىExalted is He)؛) ;يَعْنِيthat is::تُرْفَعُraised upوَتُقَدَّسُand sanctifiedوَتُنزَّهُand is glorifiedاللَّهُis AllahتَعَالَىThe Most High
And exalted is He from what they associate with Him: that is, He is raised up, sanctified, and glorified, is Allah, the Most High.
عَمَّfrom whatيُشْرِكُونَthey associate (with Him)يَقُولُHe saysعَنْaboutالأَصْنَامِthe idolsالَّتِيthatجَعَلُوهَاthey made themآلِهَةًgodsمَعَwithوَandفِيinهَاتَيْنِthese twoالْآيَتَيْنِversesمِنْofصِفَاتِattributesالنَّفْيِthe negationتَنْزَّهَHe is free from defectاللَّهُAllahتَعَالَىThe Most Highعَنْfromاتِّخَاذِtakingالْوَلَدِa sonالَّذِيthat whichوَصَفَهُHe is describedبِهِwithالْكَافِرُونَthe disbelieversوَعَنْand fromالشَّرِيكِthe partnerلَهُfor Himفِيinالْأُلُهِيَّةِdivinityالَّذِيthat whichأَشْرَكَassociatingبِهِwith Him
And from what they associate, He says about the idols that they made as gods with Him: In these two verses, among the attributes of negation, Allah, the Most High, is free from taking a son which the disbelievers described him with and from a partner for Him in divinity, which the polytheists associated with Him.
وَهَذَاAnd thisالنَّفْيُthe negationلِكَمَالِis for the perfectionغِنَاهُof His richnessوَكَمَالِand perfectionرُبُوبِيَّتِهِof His lordshipوَإِلَٰهِيَّتِهِand His divinity..
And this negation is for the perfection of His richness and the perfection of His lordship and divinity.
وَنَسْتَفِيدُAnd we benefitمِنْهُمَاfrom both of themمِنْfromالنَّاحِيَةِthe aspectالمَسْلَكِيَّةِthe practical wayأَنَّthatالإِيمَانَfaithبِذَٰلِكَin thatيَحْمِلُcarriesالْإِنْسَانَa personعَلَىtoالإِخْلَاصِsincerityلِلَّهِto Allah
And we benefit from both of them from the practical way that faith in that carries a person to sincerity to Allah.
الْآيَةُThe verseالْحَادِيَةُelevenعَشَرَةٌten::قَوْلٌThe saying﴿﴾فَلَاThen do notتَضْرِبُواstrikeلِلَّهِto Allahالْأَمْثَالَthe examplesإِنَّIndeedاللَّهَAllahيَعْلَمُknows
The verse eleven: "Then do not strike for Allah the examples; indeed, Allah knows."
