And we appreciate it specifically; because the specific is more indicative of the intended than the general; as it is possible to say: the estimation: in the name of Allah I begin, but (in the name of Allah I begin) does not indicate a specific definition of the intended, but (in the name of Allah I read) is specific, and the specific is more indicative of the meaning than the general.

"Allah" is a proper noun referring to the same Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, and is not named except by it, and its meaning is the one who is worshipped; that is: the worshipped with love and veneration, and it is derived on the dominant opinion due to the Almighty's statement: "And He is Allah in the heavens and in the earth. He knows your secret and your public. [6:3]"; for "in the heavens" is related to the Great Name; meaning He is the worshipped in the heavens and in the earth.

"The Merciful"; so He is the possessor of mercy; the vast; because (Fa'lan) in the Arabic language indicates vastness and abundance; as it is said: a man is enraged; when he is full of anger.

"The Compassionate": is a name that indicates the action; because it is Fa'il meaning doer, so it is indicating the action.

Thus, it unites from "the Merciful" and "the Compassionate": that the mercy of Allah is vast, and it reaches to creation.

And this is what some of them implied by saying: "The Merciful" is general mercy, and "the Compassionate" is specific mercy to the believers, and when the mercy of Allah is a specific mercy for the disbeliever only in this world; it is as if there is no mercy for them; because they will say in the hereafter: Exalted be He to them, when they ask Allah to bring them out of the fire and they will intercede with Allah, Exalted be He, with His Lordship and their acknowledgment of their own:
