رَبَّنَاOur Lord,أَخْرِجْنَاbring us outمِنْهَاfrom itفَإِنْfor ifعُدْنَاwe returnفَإِنَّاthen indeed weظَلِمُونَare wrongdoers.
Our Lord, bring us out from it; if we return, then indeed we are wrongdoers.
فَلَاSo they do notتَدْرِكُهُمperceive themالرَّحْمَةُthe mercy,بَلْbutيُدْرِكُهُمit is justice that seizes them;الْعَدْلُthe justice
So they do not perceive the mercy, but it is justice that seizes them.
فَيَقُولُAnd Allah saying to them,اللَّهُAllahعَزَّ وَجَلَّthe Mighty and Majesticلَهُمْto them:أَحْسَنُواDo good in it,فِيهَاin it,وَلَاand do notتُكَلِّمُونِspeak to Me.
And Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, says to them: 'Do good in it, and do not speak to Me.'
قَوْلُهُHis saying:«الحَمْدُ'Praiseللهِis due to Allah,الَّذِيthe One whoأَرْسَلَsentرَسُولَهُHis Messengerبِالهُدَىwith guidanceوَدِينِand the religionالْحَقِّ;of the truth;لِيُظْهِرَهُto make it prevailعَلَىoverالدِّينِall religionsكُلِّهِentirely,وَكَفَىand sufficientبِاللهِis Allah asشَهِيدا».a witness.'
His saying: 'Praise is due to Allah, the One who sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth; to make it prevail over all religions, and sufficient is Allah as a witness.'
الْشَّرْحُ:Explanation:قَوْلُهُHis saying:«الحمدُ'Praiseللهِis due to Allah,الَّذِي, the One whoأَرْسَلَsentرَسُولَهُHis Messengerبِالهُدَىwith guidanceوَدِينِand the religionالْحَق»of the truth.'
Explanation: His saying: 'Praise is due to Allah, the One who sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth.'
اللهُAllahتَعَالَىthe Exaltedيُحْمَدُis praisedعَلَىforكَمَالِهِHis perfection;عَزَّthe Mighty,وَجَلَّ؛the Majestic;فَنَحْمَدُso we praise HimاللهَAllahعَزَّthe Mightyوَجَلَّthe Majesticلأَنَّهُbecause He isكاملُperfectالصفاتin attributes;مِنْfromكُلِّallوجه،aspects,وَنَحْمَدُهُand we also praise Himأيضًاalsoلأَنَّهُbecause He isكاملُperfect inالإنعامِbounty:﴿“And whatever blessingبِكُمyou have is fromمِّنْfromنِعْمَةٍAllah;فَمِنَand whenاللَّهِAllah;ثُمَّthen,إِذَاwhenمَسَّكُمُafflicts youالضُّرُّharm;فَإِلَىto Him,تَحْتَرُونَ»you cry for help.'﴾[النحل: ٥٣][An-Nahl: 53]
Allah, the Exalted, is praised for His perfection; so we praise Allah the Mighty and Majestic because He is perfect in all aspects, and we also praise Him because He is perfect in bounties: 'And whatever blessing you have is from Allah; and when harm afflicts you, to Him you cry for help.' [An-Nahl: 53]
وَأَكْبَرُAnd the greatestنِعْمَةٍblessingأَنْعَمَthat Allah has grantedاللَّهُAllahبِهَاby whichعَلَىonالْخَلْقِthe creationإِرْسَالُis the sending ofالرُّسُلِthe messengers.الَّذِيThrough whichبِهِis guidanceهَدَايَةُto creation;وَلِهَذَاand for this reasonيَقُولُthe author says:«الحَمْدُ'Praiseللهِis due to Allahالَّذِيthe One whoأَرْسَلَsentرَسُولَهُHis Messengerبِالهُدَىwith guidanceوَدِينِand the religionالْحَقِّof the truth.'
And the greatest blessing that Allah has granted to creation is the sending of the messengers, through which is guidance to creation; and for this reason, the author says: 'Praise is due to Allah, the One who sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth.'
وَالْمُرَادُAnd the meaningبِالْرَّسُولِby the Messengerهُنَاhereالْجِنْسُ؛is the genus;فَإِنَّfor indeed,جَمِيعَallالرُّسُلِthe messengersأُرْسِلُواwere sentبِالْهُدَىwith guidanceوَدِينِand the religionالْحَقِّof the truth;وَلَكِنَّbutالَّذِيthe one whoأَكْمَلَcompletedاللَّهُAllahبِهِwith himالرِّسَالَةَthe messageمُحَمَّدٌMuhammad,ﷺpeace be upon him,فَإِنَّهُfor heقَدhasخَتَمَsealedاللَّهُAllahبِهِwith himالْأَنْبِيَاءَthe prophets;وَتَمَّتْand the building is completed;بِهِand with himالْبِنَاءُ؛the building;كَمَاasوَصَفَdescribedالنَّبِيُّthe Prophetﷺpeace be upon himنَفْسَهُhimselfنِسْبَةًin relationلِلرُّسُلِ؛to the messengers;كَرَجُلٍlike a manبَنَىwho builtقَصْرًاa palace;وَأَتَمَّهُ؛and completed it;إِلَّاexceptمَوْضِعَa placeلَبِنَةٍ،of a brick.فَكَانَSo people cameالنَّاسُthe peopleيَأْتُونُcomingإِلَىtoهَذَاthisالْقَصْرِpalaceوَيَتَعَجَّبُونَand marvel at it;إِلَّاexcept forهَذِهِthisمَوْضِعُplace ofاللَّبِنَةِ؛of the brick;يَقُولُ:he said:«فَأَنَا'I am the brick,اللَّبِنَةُ،the brick,وَأَنَاand I amخَاتَمُthe Seal ofالنَّبِيِّينِ)،the Prophets.'
And the meaning of the Messenger here is the genus; for indeed, all the messengers were sent with guidance and the religion of truth; but the one who completed the message was Muhammad, peace be upon him, for he has sealed the prophets; and the building is completed with him; as the Prophet, peace be upon him, described himself in relation to the messengers: like a man who built a palace and completed it; except for a place of a brick. So the people came to this palace and marveled at it; except for this place of brick; he said: 'I am the brick, and I am the Seal of the Prophets.'
