وَالسَّلامُAnd peace
And peace.
وَقَوْلُهُ:And His saying:«بِالْهُدَى»:‘by guidance’:الْبَاءِthe letter 'ba'هُنَاhereلِلْمُصَاحَبَةِ،is for accompanying,وَالْهُدَىٰand guidanceهُوَisالْعِلْمُknowledgeالنَّافِعُ،beneficial,وَيُحْتَمَلُand it is possibleأَنْ تَكُونَthat it isالْبَاءِthe letter 'ba'لِلتَّعْدِيَةِ؛for transference;أَيْ:that is:إِنَّIndeedالْمُرْسَلَthe Messengerبِهِwith itهُوَisالْهُدَىٰguidanceوَدِينٌand the religionالْحَقُّof the truth.
And His saying: ‘by guidance’: the letter 'ba' here is for accompanying, and guidance is knowledge beneficial, and it is possible that the letter 'ba' is for transference; that is: indeed the Messenger with it is guidance and the religion of the truth.
وَدِينٌAnd the religionالْحَقُّ»of the truth"هُوَisالْعَمَلُthe actionالصَّالِحُ؛good;لِأَنَّbecauseالدِّينَthe religionهُوَisالْعَمَلُactionأَوْorالْجَزَاءُthe rewardعَلَىforالْعَمَلِ؛the action;فَمَنْfor whoever
And the religion of the truth is good action; because religion is action or reward for action; for whoever.
إِطْلاقُهُIts applicationعَلَىonالْعَمَلِ:the action:قَوْلُهُHis sayingتَعَالَى:the Most High:﴿ إِنَّ‘Indeed,الدِّينَthe religionعِندَwithاللهِAllah,الإِسْلَامَ﴾Islam’" [Aal ‘Imran: 19],,وَمِنْand fromإِطْلاقِهِits applicationعَلَىonالْجَزَاءِreward:قَوْلُهُhis sayingتَعَالَى:the Most High:﴿ وَمَا‘And whatأَدْرَاكَcould make you awareمَاof whatيَوْمُis the dayالْدِّينِ﴾of judgement’" [Al-Infitar: 17].
Its application to action is His saying the Most High: ‘Indeed, the religion with Allah is Islam’ [Aal ‘Imran: 19], and from its application to reward is His saying the Most High: ‘And what could make you aware of what is the day of judgement’ [Al-Infitar: 17].
وَالْحَقُّAnd truthضِدٌّis the opposite ofالْبَاطِلِ،falsehood,وَهُوَand it is- أَيْ- that isالْحَقُّ -the truth -الْمَتَضَمِّنُinclusive ofجَلْبِbringingالْمَصَالِحِbenefitsوَدَرْءِand warding offالْمَفَاسِدِmischiefsفِيinالأَحْكَامِthe lawsوَالأَخْبَارِand news.
And truth is the opposite of falsehood, and it is - that is - the truth - inclusive of bringing benefits and warding off mischiefs in laws and news.
**قَوْلُهُ:His saying:«لِيُظْهِرَهُ‘to manifest it’عَلَىuponالدِّينِthe religionكُلِّهِ:all of it:اللامُthe letter 'lam'لِلتَّعْلِيلِ.is for justification.ومَعْنَىAnd the meaningلِيُظْهِرَهُ»؛‘to manifest it’;أَيْthat isيُعَلِّيهِ؛to exalt it;لِأَنَّbecauseالظُّهُورَmanifestationبِمَعْنَىmeansالْعُلُوِّ،elevation,وَمِنْهَا:and from it:ظَهَرَraised upالدَّابَّةِthe animalأَعْلَاهَا،its top;وَمِنْهَا:and from it:ظَهَرَthe surfaceالأَرْضِthe earthسَطْحُهَا؛its surface;
His saying: ‘to manifest it’ upon the religion all of it: the letter 'lam' is for justification. And the meaning of ‘to manifest it’; that is, to exalt it; because manifestation means elevation, and from it: raised up the animal its top; and from it: the surface of the earth its surface;
كَمَاAsقَالَHe saidتَعَالَى:the Most High:﴿وَلَوْ‘And ifيُؤَاخِذُHe were to takeاللَّهُAllahالنَّاسَthe peopleبِمَاfor whatكَسَبُواthey earned,مَاnoتَرَكَhe would leaveعَلَىuponظَهْرِهَاits backمِنْofدَابَةٍanimal [that]
As He the Most High said: ‘And if Allah were to take the people for what they earned, He would leave no animal on its back’ [Fatir: 45].
وَالْهَاءِAnd the 'ha'فِيinيُظْهِرَهُ»‘to manifest it’هَلwhetherهُوَit isعَائِدٌreturnedعَلَىtoالرَّسُولِthe Messengerأَوْorعَلَىtoالدِّينِ؟the religion?
And the 'ha' in ‘to manifest it’ is whether it is returned to the Messenger or to the religion?
إِن كَانَIfعَائِدًاreturnsعَلَىtoدِينِthe religionالْحَقِّ»؛of the truth";فَكُلُّthen allمَنْwhoeverقَاتَلَfightsلِدِينِfor the religionالْحَقِّof the truthسَيَكُونُwill beهُوَheالْعَالِيَthe one exaltedلِأَنَّbecauseاللَّهُAllahيَقُولُsays:لِيُظْهِرَهُ»؛‘to manifest it’;يُظْهِرُto manifestهَذَاthisالدِّينَreligionعَلَىuponالدِّينِthe religionكُلَّهُ،all of it,وَعَلَىand uponمَاwhatلَاthere is noدِينٌreligionلَهُ،for him,فَيُظْهِرَهُand He will manifest itعَلَيْهِمupon themمِنْmore thanبَابٍin the doorsأُولَى؛first;لِأَنَّbecauseمَنْwhoeverلَاdoes notيَدِينُbelievesأَخْبَثُis worse thanمِمَّنthan whoeverيَدِينُbelievesبَاطِلٍ؛in falsehood;فَإِذًا:So,كُلُّallالْأَدْيَانِreligionsالَّتِيthatأَهْلُهَاits peopleأَنَّهُمْthat theyعَلَىare onحَقٍّtruthسَيَكُونُwill beدِينُthe religionالإِسْلَامِof Islamعَلَيْهَاover itظَاهِرًا،manifestly,وَمَنAnd whoeverيَزْعُمُclaimsسِوَاهُمْothersمِنْthanبَابٍin the doorأُولَى.are more deserving.
If it is returned to the religion of the truth, then all whoever fights for the religion of the truth will be exalted because Allah says: ‘to manifest it’; He will manifest this religion upon the religion all of it, and upon what there is no religion for him, and He will manifest it upon them more than in the doors first; because whoever does not believe is worse than whoever believes in falsehood; so, all the religions that their people claim that they are upon truth will be the religion of Islam manifestly upon them, and whoever claims others are more deserving.
