أَبْشِرُواRejoiceوَبَشِّرُواand give good newsمَنْto whoeverوَرَاءَكُمْis behind you.
Rejoice and give good news to whoever is behind you.
إِنَّهُIndeed, heمَنْwhoشَهِدَwitnessedأَنْthatلاthere is noإِلَهَgodإِلاexceptاللهُAllahصَادِقًاtruthfullyبِهَاwith it,دَخَلَenteredالْجَنَّةَParadise.
Indeed, he who witnessed that there is no god except Allah, truthfully with it, entered Paradise.
وَعَنْAnd fromعَمْرٍوAmrبْنِbinدِينَارٍDinarقَالَ:he said:
And from Amr bin Dinar, he said:
سَمِعْتُI heardجَابِرَJabirبْنَbinعَبْدِAbdاللَّهِAllahيَقُولُsaying:
I heard Jabir bin Abdullah saying:
أَخْبَرَنَاHe informed usمَنْwhoeverشَهِدَwitnessedمُعَاذًاMu'adhحِينَwhenحَضَرَتْهُdeath attended himالْوَفَاةُdeath,يَقُولُ:saying:
He informed us whoever witnessed Mu'adh when death attended him, saying:
اكْشِفُواUncoverعَنِّيfrom meسَجْفَthe curtainالْقُبَّةِof the tent.
Uncover from me the curtain of the tent.
أُحَدِّثُكُمْI will tell youحَدِيثًاa hadithسَمِعْتُهُI heard itمِنْfromرَسُولِthe Messengerاللَّهِof Allah--صَلَّىmay AllahاللَّهُAllahعَلَيْهِbless himوَسَلَّمَand grant him peace.
I will tell you a hadith I heard it from the Messenger of Allah - may Allah bless him and grant him peace.
قَالَHe saidمَرَّةً:once:
He said once:
أُخْبِرُكُمْI will inform youبِشَيْءٍof somethingسَمِعْتُهُI heard itمِنْfromرَسُولِthe Messengerاللَّهِof Allah--صَلَّىmay AllahاللَّهُAllahعَلَيْهِbless himوَسَلَّمَand grant him peace,
I will inform you of something I heard it from the Messenger of Allah - may Allah bless him and grant him peace,
لَمْnothingيَمْنَعْنِيprevented meأَنْthatأُحَدَّثَكُمُوهُI tell it to youإِلاexceptأَنْthatتَتَّكِلُواyou would rely (on it).
nothing prevented me that I tell it to you except that you would rely (on it).
سَمِعْتُهُI heard himيَقُولُ:saying:
I heard him saying:
مَنْ"Whoeverشَهِدَwitnessedأَنْthatلاthere is noإِلَهَgodإِلاexceptاللَّهُAllah,مُخْلِصًاsincerelyمِنْfromقَلْبِهِhis heart,أَوْorيَقِينًاwith certaintyمِنْfromقَلْبِهِhis heart,لَمْwill notيَدْخُلْenterالنَّارَthe Fire,أَوْorدَخَلَhe enteredالْجَنَّةَParadise."
"Whoever witnessed that there is no god except Allah, sincerely from his heart, or with certainty from his heart, will not enter the Fire, or he entered Paradise."
وَقَالَAnd he saidمَرَّةً:another time:دَخَلَ"EnteredالْجَنَّةَParadiseوَلَمْand it did notتَمَسَّهُtouch himالنَّارُthe Fire."
And he said another time: "Entered Paradise and it did not touch him the Fire."
وَعَنْAnd fromأَبِيAbuهُرَيْرَةَHurayrahأَنَّهُthat heقَالَ:said:
And from Abu Hurayrah that he said:
قِيلَ:It was said:يَاOرَسُولَMessengerاللَّهِ،of Allah,مَنْwhoأَسْعَدُis the happiestالنَّاسِof peopleبِشَفَاعَتِكَwith your intercessionيَوْمَon the Dayالْقِيَامَةِ؟of Resurrection?
It was said: O Messenger of Allah, who is the happiest of people with your intercession on the Day of Resurrection?
قَالَSaidرَسُولُthe Messengerاللَّهِof Allah--صَلَّىmay AllahاللَّهُAllahعَلَيْهِbless himوَسَلَّمَand grant him peaceقَالَ:- he said:
Said the Messenger of Allah - may Allah bless him and grant him peace - he said:
لَقَدْ"IndeedظَنَنْتُI thoughtيَاOأَبَاAbuهُرَيْرَةَHurayrahأَنْthatلاno oneيَسْأَلُنِيwould ask meعَنْaboutهَذَاthisالْحَدِيثِhadithأَوَّلُbefore you,
"Indeed I thought O Abu Hurayrah that no one would ask me about this hadith before you,
لِمَاbecause ofرَأَيْتُwhat I sawمِنْofحِرْصِكَyour keennessعَلَىonالْحَدِيثِ،the hadith.
because of what I saw of your keenness on the hadith.
أَسْعَدُThe happiestالنَّاسِof peopleبِشَفَاعَتِيwith my intercessionيَوْمَon the Dayالْقِيَامَةِof Resurrectionمَنْis whoeverقَالَsaysلاthere is noإِلَهَgodإِلاexceptاللَّهُAllahخَالِصًاsincerelyمِنْfromقَلْبِهِhis heartأَوْorنَفْسِهِhis soul."
The happiest of people with my intercession on the Day of Resurrection is whoever says there is no god except Allah sincerely from his heart or his soul."
وَهُوَAnd this isمَعْنَىthe meaningقَوْلِهِof his saying--صَلَّىmay AllahاللَّهُAllahعَلَيْهِbless himوَسَلَّمَand grant him peace--فِيinحَدِيثِthe hadithعِتْبَانَof 'ItbanبْنِbinمَالِكٍMalik,
And this is the meaning of his saying - may Allah bless him and grant him peace - in the hadith of 'Itban bin Malik,
وَهُوَand he isمِنْfromأَصْحَابِthe companionsرَسُولِof the Messengerاللَّهِof Allah--صَلَّىmay AllahاللَّهُAllahعَلَيْهِbless himوَسَلَّمَand grant him peace--مِنْfromالْأَنْصَارِthe AnsarمَنْwhoشَهِدَwitnessedبَدْرًاBadr.
and he is from the companions of the Messenger of Allah - may Allah bless him and grant him peace - from the Ansar who witnessed Badr.
قَالَSaidرَسُولُthe Messengerاللَّهِof Allah--صَلَّىmay AllahاللَّهُAllahعَلَيْهِbless himوَسَلَّمَ:and grant him peace:
Said the Messenger of Allah - may Allah bless him and grant him peace:
فَإِنَّ"IndeedاللَّهَAllahقَدْhasحَرَّمَforbiddenعَلَىfromالنَّارِthe Fireمَنْwhoeverقَالَ:says:لاthere is noإِلَهَgodإِلاexceptاللَّهُAllah,يَبْتَغِيseekingبِذَلِكَtherebyوَجْهَthe Faceاللَّهِof Allah."
"Indeed Allah has forbidden from the Fire whoever says: there is no god except Allah, seeking thereby the Face of Allah."
[١[1--"لا"There is noإِلَهَgodإِلاexceptاللَّهُAllah"" isأَوَّلُthe firstوَاجِبٍobligationوَأَعْظَمُand the greatestوَاجِبٍobligationعَلَىuponالْمُكَلَّفِ]the accountable person].
[1 - "There is no god except Allah" is the first obligation and the greatest obligation upon the accountable person].
قَالَSaidالْعَلَّامَةُthe great scholarعَبْدُAbdالْعَزِيزِal-Azizالرَّشِيدِ،al-Rashid,صَاحِبُthe author ofأَحْكَامٍ'Ahkamوَفَوَائِدَ،wa Fawa'id',
Said the great scholar Abd al-Aziz al-Rashid, the author of 'Ahkam wa Fawa'id',
فِيinالتَّنْبِيهَاتِ'Al-Tanbihatالسُّنِّيَّةِ:Al-Sunniyyah':
in 'Al-Tanbihat Al-Sunniyyah':
هَذِهِ"Thisالْكَلِمَةُword/phraseهِيَisأَوَّلُthe firstوَاجِبٍobligationوَأَعْظَمُand the greatestوَاجِبٍobligationعَلَىatالْإِطْلَاقِ،all,
"This word/phrase is the first obligation and the greatest obligation at all,
كَمَاasفِيinالصَّحِيحِthe Sahihمِنْfromحَدِيثِthe hadithابْنِof Ibnعَبَّاسٍ،Abbas,
as in the Sahih from the hadith of Ibn Abbas,
أَنَّthatالنَّبِيَّthe Prophet--صَلَّىmay AllahاللَّهُAllahعَلَيْهِbless himوَسَلَّمَand grant him peace--قَالَsaidلِمُعَاذٍto Mu'adhحِينَwhenبَعَثَهُhe sent himإِلَىtoالْيَمَنِ:Yemen:
that the Prophet - may Allah bless him and grant him peace - said to Mu'adh when he sent him to Yemen:
فَلْيَكُنْ"So letأَوَّلُthe firstمَاthing
"So let the first thing

And Al-Tabarani in Al-Kabir, as in Majma' al-Zawa'id (1/16),
وَإِسْنَادُهُand its chain of narrationصَحِيحٌis Sahih,وَرِجَالُهُand its narratorsرِجَالُare the narrators ofالشَّيْخَيْنِ.the two Sheikhs.
and its chain of narration is Sahih, and its narrators are the narrators of the two Sheikhs.
