And he took this last condition from his saying - peace be upon him - in the hadith of Abu Malik, his father: "Whoever says there is no god except Allah and disbelieves in what is worshipped besides Allah, his property and his blood are forbidden, and his reckoning is upon Allah." (1).

And Sheikh Abdul Rahman bin Hasan mentioned it in Qurrat Uyoon al-Muwahhideen, so he said: "Indeed, there is no god except Allah, has been restricted in the Book and the Sunnah with restrictions. So he said among them: knowledge, and certainty, and sincerity, and truthfulness, and love, and acceptance and submission, and disbelief in what is worshipped besides Allah." (2).

And Sheikh Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab mentioned it in "Kitab at-Tawheed" then he said after it: "And this is from the greatest of what explains the meaning of 'no god except Allah,' for indeed, the utterance of it did not make blood and property protected, but rather nor knowledge of its meaning along with its utterance, but rather nor acknowledgment of that, but rather nor his being does not call upon except Allah alone, no partner for Him, but rather his property and his blood are not forbidden until he adds to that disbelief in what is worshipped besides Allah. For if he doubts or hesitates, his property and his blood are not forbidden." (3).

And some of them make this condition among the pillars of (no god except Allah), and it has preceded in the mention of the pillars that (no god) nullifies polytheism by all its types and necessitates disbelief in everything worshipped besides Allah, and (except Allah) establishes that no one deserves worship except Allah and necessitates acting by that. And His saying, Exalted is He, indicates this: {So whoever disbelieves in Taghut and believes in Allah, then indeed he has held on to the firmest handhold} [Al-Baqarah: 256].
