وَأَحْكَامُهَاand its rulingsوَلَاحَظْتُand I observedعَادَاتِcustoms ofالْعَرَبِthe Arabsوَرُسُومَهُمْand their traditionsوَتَقَالِيدَهُمْ،and their traditions,
And its rulings, and I observed the customs of the Arabs, their traditions, and their heritage,
وَتَشْرِيعَاتِand the legislations ofالرَّسُولِthe Messengerالْخَاتِمِthe Seal-صَلَّى-peaceاللَّهُbe upon himعَلَيْهِupon himوَسَلَّمَ-and blessings-الَّتِيwhichهِيَareبِمَنْزِلَةِin the status ofالْمُصْلِحِthe reformerوَالْمُهَذِّبِand the refinerلَهَاfor it
and the legislations of the Seal Messenger -may Allah bless him and grant him peace- which are in the status of a reformer and refiner for it.
تُدْرِكُyou perceiveلِكُلِّfor everyحُكْمٍrulingمِنْfromأَحْكَامِهَاits rulingsسَبَبًاa reasonمِنَfromالْأَسْبَابِthe reasons
you perceive for every ruling of its rulings a reason from the reasons
وَتَتَوَصَّلُand you reachفِيinكُلِّeveryأَمْرٍcommandوَنَهْيٍand prohibitionمِنْfromأَوَامِرِهَاits commandsوَنَوَاهِيهَاand its prohibitionsإِلَىtoمَصْلَحَةٍan interestمَرْعِيَّةٍregardedمِنَfromالْمَصَالِحِ،the interests,
and you reach in every command and prohibition of its commands and prohibitions to a regarded interest among the interests,
وَتَفْصِيلُand the detail ofذَلِكَthatيَطُولُ.is long.
and the detail of that is long.
دَوْرُThe role ofالتَّشْرِيعَاتِthe Islamic legislationsالْإِسْلَامِيَّةِIslamicفِيinإِصْلَاحِreformingالْمِلَّةِthe creedالْحَنِيفِيَّةِthe uprightالْمُحَرَّفَةِ:the distorted:
The role of Islamic legislations in reforming the distorted upright creed:
وَبِالْجُمْلَةِAnd in generalفَإِنَّindeedالْعِبَادَاتِthe acts of worshipمِنَfromالطَّهَارَةِpurificationوَالصَّلَاةِand prayerوَالصَّوْمِand fastingوَالزَّكَاةِand zakatوَالْحَجِّand Hajjوَالْأَذْكَارِand remembrances
And in general, the acts of worship from purification, prayer, fasting, zakat, Hajj, and remembrances
كَانَتْhadقَدْalreadyتَعَرَّضَتْbeen exposedلِلْإِهْمَالِto negligenceوَالتَّسَاهُلِand laxityالْعَظِيمِgreatفِيinأَدَائِهَاtheir performanceوَالْقِيَامِand undertakingبِهَا،them,
had been exposed to great negligence and laxity in their performance and undertaking them,
وَلِاخْتِلَافِand due to the difference ofالنَّاسِpeople-لِجَهْلِ-due to the ignorance ofأَكْثَرِهِمْmost of themبِهَاof themوَغَفْلَتِهِمْ-and their heedlessness-فِيinمَشْرُوعِيَّتِهَا،their legitimacy,
and due to the difference of people -due to most of them being ignorant of them and heedless of them- in their legitimacy,
وَتَسَرُّبِand the creeping ofالتَّحْرِيفَاتِdistortionsالْجَاهِلِيَّةِJahiliyyahإِلَيْهَاinto it
and the creeping of Jahiliyyah distortions into it,
فَنَزَلَso descendedالْقُرْآنُthe Quranالْعَظِيمُthe Greatوَقَضَىand eliminatedعَلَىuponهَذِهِthisالْفَوْضَىchaosوَالِاخْتِلَالِ،and disorder,
so the Great Quran descended and eliminated this chaos and disorder,
وَأَقَامَand establishedاعْوَاجَهَاits crookednessوَعَدَلَهَاand straightened itوَسَوَاهَا.and leveled it.
and established its crookedness, straightened it, and leveled it.
وَكَانَتِAnd wasالْحَيَاةُthe lifeالِاجْتِمَاعِيَّةُsocialوَالْعَائِلِيَّةُand familialفِيهَاin itكَثِيرٌmuchمِنَofالتَّقَالِيدِtraditionsالْمُجْحِفَةِunjustوَالطُّقُوسِand ritualsالْجَائِرَةِoppressiveوَعَوَامِلِand factors ofالْبَغْيِtyrannyوَالْعُدْوَانِand aggression
And social and familial life had in it many unjust traditions, oppressive rituals, and factors of tyranny and aggression.
وَهَكَذَاAnd thusكَانَwasشَأْنُthe matter ofالْحُكْمِrulingوَالسِّيَاسَةِand politicsمِنَfromالِاخْتِلَالِdisorderوَالاضْطِرَابِand turbulenceوَالْفَوْضَى.and chaos.
And thus was the matter of ruling and politics in terms of disorder, turbulence, and chaos.
فَضَبَطَSo regulatedالْقُرْآنُthe Quranالْعَظِيمُthe Greatأُصُولَfoundations ofهَذِهِtheseالْقَضَايَا،issues,
So the Great Quran regulated the foundations of these issues,
وَحَدَّدَand definedلَهَاfor themحُدُودًاlimitsوَشَرَعَand legislatedلَهَاfor themتَشْرِيعَاتٍlegislationsخَاصَّةً.special.
and defined limits for them and legislated special legislations for them.
[حَقِيقَةِ[The reality ofالصَّغَائِرِminor sinsوَالْكَبَائِرِ:]and major sins:]
[The reality of minor and major sins:]
وَلَقَدْAnd indeedكَانَتْwereكَثِيرٌmanyمِنَofالْكَبَائِرِthe major sinsوَالصَّغَائِرِand minor sinsرَاجِعَةًreturningإِلَىtoهَذَاthisالْأَصْلِfoundationوَمُتَعَلِّقَةًand relatedبِهَذَاto thisالْبَابِ.chapter.
And indeed many of the major and minor sins were returning to this foundation and related to this chapter.
