مِنْFromذَٰلِكَthatلِكُلِّهَاall of itمُكَذِّبٌis a denierبِهَاof it.
From all of that, he is a denier of it.
لَاHe doesيُؤْمِنُnot believeبِأَنَّthatاللَّهَAllahتَكَلَّمَspokeبِكَلَامٍwith speech
He does not believe that Allah spoke with speech
أَنزَلَهُthat He revealedعَلَىٰtoبَشَرٍa humanجَعَلَهُwhom He madeرَسُولًاa messengerلِلنَّاسِfor the people,
that He revealed to a human whom He made a messenger for the people,
يَهْدِيهِمْto guide themبِإِذْنِهِwith His permission.
to guide them with His permission.
وَيُنذِرُهُمْAnd warns themبَأْسَهُof His might,وَيُخَوِّفُهُمْand frightens themعِقَابَهُof His punishment.
And warns them of His might, and frightens them of His punishment.
وَقَدْAnd indeedهَتَكَexposedاللَّهُAllahسُبْحَانَهُGlorified is Heأَسْتَارَthe veilsالْمُنَافِقِينَof the hypocrites,
And indeed Allah, Glorified is He, exposed the veils of the hypocrites,
وَكَشَفَand uncoveredأَسْرَارَهُمْtheir secretsفِيinالْقُرْآنِthe Quran,
and uncovered their secrets in the Quran,
وَجَلَّىand clarifiedلِعِبَادِهِto His servantsأُمُورَهُمْtheir matters
and clarified to His servants their matters
لِيَكُونُواso that they would beمِنْهَاregarding itوَمِنْand regardingأَهْلِهَاits peopleعَلَىٰuponحَذَرٍcaution.
so that they would be cautious regarding it and regarding its people.
وَذَكَرَAnd He mentionedطَوَائِفَthe groupsالْعَالَمِof the worldالثَّلاثَةَthe threeفِيinأَوَّلِthe beginning ofسُورَةِSurahالْبَقَرَةِAl-Baqarah:
And He mentioned the three groups of the world in the beginning of Surah Al-Baqarah:
الْمُؤْمِنِينَthe believers,وَالْكَافِرِينَand the disbelievers,وَالْمُنَافِقِينَand the hypocrites.
the believers, the disbelievers, and the hypocrites.
فَذَكَرَSo He mentionedفِيregardingالْمُؤْمِنِينَthe believersأَرْبَعَfourآيَاتٍverses,
So He mentioned regarding the believers four verses,
وَفِيand regardingالْكَافِرِينَthe disbelieversآيَتَيْنِtwo verses,
and regarding the disbelievers two verses,
وَفِيand regardingالْمُنَافِقِينَthe hypocritesثَلاثَ عَشَرَةَthirteenآيَةًverses.
and regarding the hypocrites thirteen verses.
لِكَثْرَتِهِمْDue to their great numberوَعُمُومِand the general nature ofالِابْتِلَاءِthe trialبِهِمْwith them,
Due to their great number and the general nature of the trial with them,
وَشِدَّةِand the severity ofفِتْنَتِهِمْtheir tribulationعَلَى الِإِسْلَامِupon Islamوَأَهْلِهِand its people.
and the severity of their tribulation upon Islam and its people.
فَإِنَّFor indeedبَلِيَّةَthe afflictionالإِسْلَامِof Islamبِهِمْby themشَدِيدَةٌis severeجِدًّindeed,
For indeed, the affliction of Islam by them is severe indeed,
لَأَنَّهُمْbecause theyمُنْسَبُونَare attributedإِلَيْهِto it,وَإِلَىand toنَصْرَتِهِits supportوَمَوَالَاتِهِand alliance with it,
because they are attributed to it, and to its support and alliance with it,
وَهُمْwhile theyأَعْدَاؤُهُare its enemiesفِيinالْحَقِيقَةِreality,
while they are its enemies in reality,
يُعَبِّرُونَexpressingعَدَاوَاتِهِits enmityفِيinكُلِّeveryقَالِبٍform.
expressing its enmity in every form.
يَظُنُّThe ignorant oneالْجَاهِلُthinksأَنَّهُthat itعِلْمٌis knowledgeوَإِصْلَاحٌand reform,
The ignorant one thinks that it is knowledge and reform,
وَهُوَwhile itغَايَةُis the utmostالْجَهْلِof ignoranceوَالْإِفْسَادِand corruption.
while it is the utmost of ignorance and corruption.
فَلِلَّهِSo for Allahكَمْhow manyمِنْofمَعْقَلٍa strongholdلِلْإِسْلَامِfor Islamقَدْhaveهَدَمُوهُthey demolished!
So for Allah, how many a stronghold for Islam have they demolished!
وَكَمْAnd how manyمِنْofحِصْنٍa fortressلَهُfor itقَدْhaveقَلَعُواthey uprootedأَسَاسَهُits foundationوَخَرَّبُوهُand destroyed it!
And how many a fortress for it have they uprooted its foundation and destroyed it!
وَكَمْAnd how manyمِنْofعَلَمٍa bannerلَهُfor itقَدْhaveطَمَسُواthey erased!
And how many a banner for it have they erased!
وَكَمْAnd how manyمِنْofلَوَاءٍa flagلَهُfor itمَرْفُوعٍraisedقَدْhaveوَضَعُوهُthey lowered!
And how many a raised flag for it have they lowered!
وَكَمْAnd how manyضَرَبُواhave they struckبِمَعَاوِلَwith the pickaxesالشَّبَهِof doubtsفِيatأُصُولِthe rootsغَرَاسَتِهِof its plantingلِيَقْلَعُوهَاto uproot it!
And how many times have they struck with the pickaxes of doubts at the roots of its planting to uproot it!
وَكَمْAnd how manyعَمُّواhave they blindedأَعْيُنَthe eyesمَوَارِدِهِof its water springsبِآرَائِهِمْwith their opinionsلِيَدْفِنُوهَاto bury themوَيَقْطَعُوهَاand cut them off!
And how many times have they blinded the eyes of its water springs with their opinions to bury them and cut them off!
