Sins, oppression, and crime prevent one from having a good opinion of his Lord.

وَهَذَاAnd thisمَوْجُودٌis presentفِيinالشَّاهِدِthe evidence,,فَإِنَّfor indeedالْعَبْدَthe servantالْآبِقِfugitiveالْمُسِيءِwrongdoerالْخَارِجَwho is outsideعَنْofطَاعَةِobedienceسَيِّدِهِhis masterلَاdoes notيُحْسِنُhave a good opinionالظَّنَّof thoughtبِهِof him.

And this is evident; for indeed, the fugitive wrongdoer who is outside his master's obedience does not have a good opinion of him.

وَلَاAnd notيُجَامِعُconjunctوَحْشَةَthe lonelinessالإِسَاءَةِof wrongdoingإِحْسَانَthe goodالظَّنِّopinionأَبَدًاever.

And the loneliness of wrongdoing never coincides with a good opinion.

فَإِنَّFor indeedالْمُسِيءَthe wrongdoerمُسْتَوْحِشٌis lonelyبِقَدْرِto the extent ofإِسَاءَتِهِhis wrongdoing.

For indeed, the wrongdoer is lonely to the extent of his wrongdoing.

And the best of people in their thoughts of their Lord are those most obedient to Him, as al-Hasan al-Basri said: "Indeed, the believer has a good opinion of his Lord, and thus performs the work."

وَإِنَّAnd indeedالْفَاجِرَthe sinfulأَسَاءَdid evilالظَّنَّin thoughtبِرَبِّهِof his Lord,,فَأَسَاءَand thus did evilالْعَمَلَthe work.

And indeed, the sinful did evil in their thoughts of their Lord, and thus they performed evil actions.

And how can someone who strays from Him while being away in actions that displease Him and what upsets Him have a good opinion of his Lord?

He is exposed to His curse, has trivialized his right and commands upon him, has wasted them, and has trivialized His prohibitions upon him so he committed them, and persisted in them!

And how can someone have a good opinion of Him who declares war on Him, opposes His friends, allies with His enemies, denies the attributes of His perfection, and does evil in his thoughts of what He has described of Himself?
