سَبِيلWayتُحِبُّYou loveأَنْtoيُنفَقَbe spentفِيهَاin itإِلَّاexceptأَنفَقْتُI spentفِيهَاin itلَكَfor you

A way that you love to be spent in, except that I spent in it for you.

قَالَHe said:: كَذَبْتَYou lied,,وَلَكِنَّكَbut youفَعَلْتَdidلِيُقَالَfor it to be said::هُوَHe isجَوَادٌgenerous،,فَقَدْthereforeقِيلَit was said

He said: 'You lied, but you did it for it to be said: He is generous, therefore it was said.'

ثُمَّThenأَمَرَHe commandedبِهِhimفَسُحِبَto be draggedعَلَىuponوَجْهِهِhis face

Then he commanded him to be dragged upon his face.

حَتَّىUntilأُلْقِيَhe was thrownفِيintoالنَّارِthe fire

Until he was thrown into the fire.

وَفِيAnd inلَفْظٍthe wording::«فَهَؤُلاَءِ'These areأَوَّلُthe firstخَلْقٍcreaturesاللَّهِof Allahتُسْتَعْرَthe fire will be ignitedبِهِمby themالنَّارُthe fireيَوْمَon the dayالْقِيَامَةِ»of resurrection.'

And in the wording: 'These are the first creatures of Allah, by whom the fire will be ignited on the Day of Resurrection.'

وَسَمِعْتُAnd I heardشَيْخَthe Sheikhالإِسْلاَمِof Islamيَقُولُsaying::كَمَاJust asأَنَّtheخَيْرَbestالنَّاسِof peopleالْأَنْبِيَاءِare the Prophets،,فَشَرُّthe worstالنَّاسِof peopleمَنْare the one whoتَشَبَّهَimitatesبِهِمthemمِنَofالْكَذَّابِينَthe liars,,وَادَّعَىand claimsأَنَّهُthat he isمِنْهُمone of them،,وَلَيْسَand is notمِنْهُمone of them

And I heard the Sheikh of Islam saying: 'Just as the best of people are the Prophets, the worst of people are those who imitate them from the liars, and claim that he is one of them, while he is not one of them.'

فَخَيْرُSo the bestالنَّاسِof peopleبَعْدَهُمْafter themالْعُلَمَاءُare the scholarsوَالشُّهَدَاءُand the martyrsوَالْمُصَدِّقُونَand the sincere donorsالمُخْلِصُونَ the sincere.,,فَشَرٌّThen the worstالنَّاسِof people))مَنْthose whoتَشَبَّهَimitateبِهِمthem،,يُوَهِّمُto suggestأَنَّهُthat he isمِنْهُمone of them,,وَلَيْسَand is notمِنْهُمone of them

So the best of people after them are the scholars, the martyrs, and the sincere donors. Then the worst of people are those who imitate them, suggesting that he is one of them, and he is not one of them.

وَفِيAnd inصَحِيحِSahihالْبُخَارِيِّal-Bukhariمِنْfromحَدِيثِthe narrationsأَبِيof AbuهُرَيْرَةَHurairaعَنْaboutالنَّبِيِّthe Prophetﷺ:peace be upon him:«مَنْ'Whoeverكَانَتْhasعِندَهُwith himلِأَخِيهِa brotherمَظْلَمَةٌinjusticeفِيinمَالٍmoneyأَوْorعِرْضٍhonorفَلْيَأْتِهِ, let him come to him,,,فَلْيَسْتَحِلَّهَاand let him seek its permissionمِنْهُfrom him(۹), (9) قَبْلَbeforeأَنْheيُؤْخَذَis taken.،,وَلَيْسَAnd there is notعِندَهُwith himدِينَارٌa dinarوَلَاnorدِرْهَمٌa dirham،,فَإِنْIfكَانَتْthere areلَهُfor himحَسَنَاتٌgood deedsأُخِذَتْit will be takenمِنْfromحَسَنَاتِهِhis good deeds،,فَأُعْطِيَتْand given toهَذَاthis person;وَإِلَّاotherwiseأُخِذَتْit will be takenمِنْfromسَيِّئَاتِthe misdeedsهَذَاof this person,فَطُرِحَتْand it will be thrownعَلَيْهِupon him,,ثُمَّthen

And in Sahih al-Bukhari from the narration of Abu Huraira about the Prophet (peace be upon him): 'Whoever has a grievance against his brother in regards to money or honor, let him come to him and seek his permission before he is taken away, and there is not with him a dinar nor a dirham. If there are good deeds for him, they will be taken from his good deeds and given to this person; otherwise, it will be taken from the misdeeds of this person and thrown upon him. Then...

(۱), (1)سS:: وَلَكِنَّBut»..'(۲), (2)فF.:: «وَقَدْ'And it wasقِيلَsaid.'(۳), (3)أَخْرَجَهُMentioned by theالتُّرْمِذِيُّal-Tirmidhiفِيinأَبْوَابِthe chaptersالزُّهْدِof Asceticism,,بَابِthe chapterمَاabout whatجَاءَcameفِيinالرِّيَاءِhypocrisyوَالسُّمْعَةِand reputationتَحْفَةَThe giftالْأَحْوَذِيِّal-Ahwazi.(٤٦/٧)(46/7).
