ٱلصَّحَابَةُthe companions..

The companions.

But if he had called for him (1), another would have stood (2), and the door would have opened, and perhaps someone who did not deserve to be among them would have stood. So the restraint was more appropriate, and Allah knows better.

Section: Let us return to what we were mentioning about the cure for the disease that, if it continues, corrupts the worldly life of the servant and the hereafter.

From what should be known is that sins harm, and certainly, their harm in the hearts is like the harm of poisons in the bodies, depending on their varying degrees of harm.

وَهَلْAnd is thereفِيinٱلدُّنْيَاthe worldly lifeوَٱلْآخِرَةِand the hereafterشَرٌّevilوَدَاءٌand disease(۳)(3)إِلَّاexceptوَسَبَبُهَاand its causeٱلذُّنُوبُis sinsوَٱلْمِعَادُand disobedience?

And is there any evil or disease (3) in the worldly life and the hereafter except for the sins and disobedience?

فَمَاSo whatٱلَّذِيis it thatأَخْرَجَbrought outٱلْأَبَوَيْنِthe two parentsمِنْfromٱلْجَنَّةِthe Paradiseدَارِthe abodeٱللَّذَّةِof pleasureوَٱلنَّعِيمِ)and bliss)

So what is it that brought the two parents out from the Paradise, the abode of pleasure and bliss, into the abode of pain and sorrow and afflictions?

And what is it that brought Iblis out from the kingdom of heaven, cast him out and cursed him, and transformed his appearance and inner self, thus his image became the ugliest and the most abhorrent, and his inner self uglier than his appearance and more pernicious? And he was replaced with closeness, distance with mercy, a curse with beauty, and Paradise with a fire that blazes, and faith with disbelief, and by supporting the Praiseworthy protector, the greatest.
