وَلَيْسَAnd notعَلَىonالْقَلْبِthe heartأَمَرُmatterمِنْthanوَحْشَةٍthe lonelinessالذَّنْبِof sinعَلَىonالذَّنْبِsinفَاللَّهُSo Allahالْمُسْتَعَانُis the one who is sought for help
And there is no matter more distressing to the heart than the loneliness of sin over sin; so Allah is the one who is sought for help.
وَمِنْهَاAnd among themالْوَحْشَةُthe lonelinessالَّتِيthatتَحْصُلُoccursلَهُto himبَيْنَهُbetween himوَبَيْنَand betweenالنَّاسِthe peopleوَلَاand notسِيمَاespeciallyأَهْلُthe peopleالْخَيْرِof goodnessمِنْهُمْamong themفَإِنَّهُfor indeed heيَجِدُfindsوَحْشَةًa lonelinessبَيْنَهُbetween himوَبَيْنَهُمْand between themوَكُلَّمَاand wheneverقَوِيَتْit strengthensتِلْكَthatالْوَحْشَةُlonelinessبَعُدَhe distances himselfمِنْهُمْfrom themوَمِنْand fromمُجَالَسَتِهِمtheir companionship,,وَحُرِمَand is deprivedبَرَكَةَthe blessingالِانْتِفَاعِof benefitingبِهِمfrom them,,وَقَرُبَand he comes closerمِنْtoحِزْبِthe partyالشَّيْطَانِof Satanبِقَدْرِto the extentمَاthatبَعُدَhe distances himselfمِنْfromحِزْبِthe partyالرَّحْمَانِof the MercifulوَتَقْوَىAnd this strengthensهَذِهِthisالْوَحْشَةُlonelinessحَتَّىuntilتَسْتَحْكِمَit becomes firm,,فَتَقَعَand it occursبَيْنَهُbetween himوَبَيْنَand betweenامْرَأَتِهِhis wifeوَوَلَدِهِand his childوَأَقَارِبِهِand his relativesوَبَيْنَهُand between himوَبَيْنَand betweenنَفْسِهِhimself,,فَتَرَاهُso you see himمُسْتَوْحِشًاin a state of lonelinessمِنْfromنَفْسِهِhimself
And among them is the loneliness that occurs to him between himself and people, especially the people of goodness among them. For indeed, he finds a loneliness between himself and them; and whenever that loneliness strengthens, he distances himself from them and from their companionship, and he is deprived of the blessing of benefiting from them. He comes closer to the party of Satan to the extent he distances himself from the party of the Merciful, and this loneliness strengthens until it becomes firm, and it occurs between him and his wife and his child and his relatives and between him and himself, so you see him in a state of loneliness from himself.
وَقَالَAnd saidبَعْضُsomeالسَّلَفِof the predecessorsإِنِّيI indeedلَأَعْصِيdisobeyاللَّهَAllahفَأَرَىand I seeذَلِكَthatفِيinخُلُقِthe behaviorدَابَّتِيof my beast (donkey)وَامْرَأَتِيand my wife
And some of the predecessors said: 'I indeed disobey Allah and see that in the behavior of my donkey and my wife.'
وَمِنْهَاAnd among themتَعْسِيرٌthe hardshipأُمُورِهِof his affairsعَلَيْهِupon him,,فَلَاso he does notيَتَوَجَّهُturn toلِأَمْرٍa matterإِلَّاexceptيَجِدَهُhe finds itمُغْلَقًاclosedدُونَهُbefore him,,أَوْorمُتَعَسِّرًاdifficultعَلَيْهِupon him.وَهَذَاAnd thisكَمَاis likeأَنَّthatمَنْwhoeverاتَّقَىfears AllahجَعَلَHe makesلَهُfor himمِنْofأَمْرِهِhis affairيُسْرًىeasy,,فَمَنْso whoeverعَطَّلَneglectsالتَّقْوَىthe pietyجَعَلَhe makesلَهُfor himمِنْofأَمْرِهِhis affairعُسْرًاhardship
And among them is the hardship of his affairs upon him, such that he does not turn to a matter except that he finds it closed before him, or difficult upon him. And this is like whoever fears Allah, He makes for him his affair easy; so whoever neglects piety, He makes for him his affair difficult.
وَيَا اللَّهَAnd oh Allah!الْعَجَبُthe wonder!كَيْفَHowيَجِدُdoes he findالْعَبْدُthe servantأَبْوَابَthe doorsالْخَيْرِof goodوَالْمَصَالِحِand benefitsمَسْدُودَةًclosedعَنْهُfrom him,,وَطُرُقَهَاand its pathsمَعْشَرَةٌare difficultعَلَيْهupon him,,وَهُوَand heلَاnotيَعْلَمُknowsمِنْfromأَيْنَwhereأُتِيَ؟he was brought?
And oh Allah! How does the servant find the doors of goodness and benefits closed from him, and its paths difficult upon him, and he does not know from where he was brought?
وَمِنْهَاAnd among themظُلْمَةٌis a darknessيَجِدُهَاhe finds itفِيinقَلْبِهِhis heartحَقِيقَةًtruly,,يَحِسُّhe feelsبِهَاwith itكَمَاjust asيَحِسُّhe feelsبظُلْمَةِthe darknessالْمُنْتَخَلِof the isolated (ramp)
And among them is a darkness he finds in his heart truly; he feels it just as he feels the darkness of the isolated ramp.
