بَكْأُوبٍin sadnessمِنْfromحَدِيدٍiron
In sadness from iron.
وَإِذَاAnd ifهُوَheيَأْتِيcomesأَحَدَone ofشِقَّيْthe two sides ofوَجْهِهِhis face
And if he comes to one of the two sides of his face.
فَيُشَرْشِرُthen he shredsشِدْقَهُhis jawإِلَىtoقَفَاهُhis backوَمِنْخَرَهُand his nostrilإِلَىtoقَفَاهُhis backوَعَيْنِهِand his eyeإِلَىtoقَفَاهُhis back
Then he shreds his jaw to his back, and his nostril to his back, and his eye to his back.
ثُمَّThenيَتَحَوَّلُhe turnsإِلَىtoالْجَانِبِthe sideالْآخَرِthe other
Then he turns to the other side.
فَيَفْعَلُAnd he doesبِهِto himمِثْلَlikeمَاwhatفَعَلَhe didبِالْجَانِبِto the sideالأَوَّلِthe first.
And he does to him like what he did to the first side.
فَمَاSo he does notيَفْرَغُfinishمِنْfromذَلِكَthatالْجَانِبِside
So he does not finish from that side.
حَتَّىUntilيَصْحُوit is restoredذَلِكَthatالْجَانِبِsideكَمَاasكَانَit was
Until that side is restored as it was.
ثُمَّThenيَعُودُhe returnsعَلَيْهِto himفَيَفْعَلُand he doesمِثْلَlikeمَاwhatفَعَلَhe didفِيinالْمَرَّةِthe timeالأُولَىfirst.
Then he returns to him and does like what he did in the first time.
قَالَHe said:قُلْتُI saidسُبْحَانَ اللّٰهِGlory be to Allahمَاwhatهَذَانِare these?
He said: I said, Glory be to Allah, what are these?
فَقَالَاSo they said to me:انْطَلِقْGoانْطَلِقْGo.
So they said to me: Go, go.
فَانْطَلَقْنَاSo we wentفَأَتَيْنَاand we cameعَلَىtoمِثْلِlikeالتَّنورِthe oven,
So we went and came to like the oven,
وَإِذَاand ifفِيهِin itلَغَطٌnoiseوَأَصْوَاتٌand voices.
And if there is noise and voices in it.
قَالَHe said:فَاطَّلَعْنَاSo we looked insideفِيهِin it.
He said: So we looked inside it.
فَإِذَاAnd beholdفِيهِin itرِجَالٌmenوَنِسَاءٌand womenعُرَاةٌnaked,
And behold, in it were men and women naked.
وَإِذَاAnd ifهُمْtheyيَأْتِيَهُمْcome to themلَهَبٌflameمِنْfromأَسْفَلَbelowمِنْهُمْthem,
And if they come to them a flame from below them,
فَإِذَاAnd ifأَتَاهُمْit comes to themذَلِكَthatاللَّهَبُflameضَوْضَوْاthey cried out.
And if that flame comes to them, they cried out.
فَقَالَHe said:قُلْتُI saidمَاWhatهَؤُلَاءِare these?
He said: I said, Who are these?
قَالَHe said:قَالَاThey said to me:انْطَلِقْGo.انْطَلِقْGo.
He said: They said to me: Go, go.
فِيInالنَّهْرِthe river.
In the river.
قَالَHe said:فَانْطَلَقْنَاSo we wentفَأَتَيْنَاand we cameعَلَىtoنَهْرٍa riverأَحْمَرَredمِثْلَlikeالدَّمِblood,
He said: So we went and came to a river red like blood,
فَإِذَاAnd beholdرَجُلٌa manسَابِحٌswimmingيُسَبِّحُswimming,
And behold, a man swimming.
وَإِذَاAnd ifعَلَىonشَطِّthe bank ofالنَّهْرِthe riverرَجُلٌa manقَدْhasجَمَعَgatheredعِندَهُby himحَجَارَةًstonesكَثِيرَةًmany,
And if on the bank of the river a man has gathered many stones by him,
وَإِذَاAnd beholdذَلِكَthatالسَّابِحُswimmerيُسَبِّحُis swimmingمَاas much asيُسَبِّحُhe swims,
And behold, that swimmer is swimming as much as he swims,
ثُمَّthenيَأْتِيhe comesذَلِكَthatالَّذِيwhoقَدْhasجَمَعَgatheredعِندَهُby himالْحِجَارَةَthe stones
Then he comes to that who has gathered the stones by him,
فَيُفَغِّرُand he opensلَهُfor himفَاهَhis mouthفَيُلْقِمُهُand feeds himحَجَرًاa stone,
And he opens his mouth for him and feeds him a stone,
فَيَنْطَلِقُand he goesفَيُسَبِّحُand swims.
And he goes and swims.
