فَهَذَاSo thisدُعَاءٌis a supplicationٱلْمَلَـٓائِكَةُof the angelsلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَfor the believersٱلتَّائِبِينَwho repentٱلْمُتَّبِعِينَwho followلِكِتَـٰبِهِHis Bookوَسُنَّةِand the Sunnahرَسُولِهِof His Messengerٱلَّذِينَthose whoلَاdo notسَبِيلٌhave a wayلَهُمfor themغَيْرَهُمَاother than them.
So this is a supplication of the angels for the believers who repent and follow His Book and the Sunnah of His Messenger, those who have no way for them other than them.
فَلَاSo do notيَطْمَعْthe ones who hopeغَيْرَanyone other thanهَـَؤُلآءِtheseبِإِجَابَةٍfor an answerهَـٰذِهِto thisالدُّعَاءِsupplicationإِذْbecauseلَمْthey have notيَتَّصِفْpossessedبِصِفَاتٍthe qualitiesٱلْمَدْعُوِّof the one being invitedلَهُto itبِهَذَاby it.
So do not let anyone other than these hope for an answer to this supplication, because they have not possessed the qualities of the one being invited to it.
وَاللَّهُAnd Allahٱلْمُسْتَعَانُis the one sought for help.
And Allah is the one sought for help.
فَصْلٌSection:وَمِنَAnd fromعُقُوبَاتِthe punishmentsٱلْمَعَاصِيof sins:مَاis whatرَوَىwas narratedٱلْبُخَارِيُّby Al-Bukhariفِيinصَحِيحِهِhis Sahihمِنْfromحَدِيثِthe hadithسَمُرَةَof SamurahابْنِbinجُنْدُبٍJundubقَالَhe said:كَانَIt wasٱلنَّبِيُّthe Prophet[[٢٩29//بB]]مِمَّاof whatيَكْثُرُhe oftenأَنْthatيَقُولَhe saysلِأَصْحَابِهِto his companions:هَلْDidرَأَىhe seeأَحَدٌanyoneمِنْكُمْof youٱلْبَارِحَةَlast nightرُؤْيَاa dream?
Section: And from the punishments of sins is what was narrated by Al-Bukhari in his Sahih from the hadith of Samurah bin Jundub, he said: It was of what the Prophet often said to his companions: Did anyone of you see a dream last night?
فَيَقُصُّand he narratesعَلَيْهِto himمِنَfrom the oneشَاءَتْwhom Allah wills
and he narrates to him from the one whom Allah wills.
وَإِنَّهُAnd he said to usقَالَone morning:إِنَّهُIndeedأَتَانِيtwo came to meٱلَّيْلَةَlast nightآتِيَانِtwo visitors,,وَإِنَّهُمَاand they bothابْتَعَثَانِيsent me,,وَإِنَّهُمَاand they said to meقَالَاgo.ٱنْطَلِقْI went.وَإِنِّيAnd Iٱنْطَلَقْتُwent with them.
And he said to us one morning: Indeed, two came to me last night, two visitors, and they both sent me, and they said to me: Go. I went with them.
وَإِنَّاAnd weأَتَيْنَاcameعَلَىuponرَجُلٍa manمُضْطَجِعٍlying down,,وَإِذَاand there wasآخَرُanother standingقَائِمٌover himعَلَيْهِwith a rock.
And we came upon a man lying down, and there was another standing over him with a rock.
وَإِذَاAnd thereهُوَheيَهْوِيwas throwingبِالصَّخْرَةِthe rockلِرَأْسِهِat his head.,,فَيَثْلُغُSo he crushesرَأْسَهُhis head,,,فَيَتَدَحْدَهُand the rock rollsٱلْحَجَرُthe rockهَاهُنَاhereفَيَتْبَعُand followsٱلْحَجَرَthe rock,فَيَأْخُذُهُhe picks it up,فَلَاand does notيَرْجِعُreturnإِلَيْهِto itحَتَّىuntilيَصِحَّhis head is curedرَأْسُهُas it wasكَمَاasكَانَit was.ثُمَّThenيَعُودُhe returnsعَلَيْهِto him,فَيَفْعَلُand doesبِهِto himمِثْلَlikeمَاwhatفَعَلَhe didٱلْمَرَّةَthe first time.ٱلْأُولَىٰ.
And there he was throwing the rock at his head, so he crushes his head, and the rock rolls here, and he follows the rock, picks it up, and does not return to it until his head is cured as it was, and then he returns to him, and does like what he did the first time.
قَالَHe said:قُلْتُI saidلَهُمَاto them,سُبْحَانَ ٱللَّهِGlory be to Allah!:: مَاWhatهَذَانِare these two?قَالَاThey said to me:ٱنْطَلِقْGo on.ٱنْطَلَقْنَاSo we went.
He said: I said to them, 'Glory be to Allah! What are these two?' They said to me: 'Go on.' So we went.
فَأَتَيْنَاAnd we cameعَلَىuponرَجُلٍa manمُسْتَلِقٍlying on his backلِقَفَاهُupon his back,,,وَإِذَاand beholdآخَرُanother standingقَائِمٌover him.
And we came upon a man lying on his back, and behold, another was standing over him.
