وَفِيAnd inالصَّحِيحِthe authenticأَيْضًاalsoعَنْهُfrom himأَنَّهُthat heقَالَsaidفِيinخُطْبَةِthe sermonالْكُسُوفِof the eclipse: «يَا: 'OأُمَّةَO nationمُحَمَّدِ،of Muhammad,مَاthere is noأَحَدٌoneأَغَيْرُmore jealousمِنَthanاللَّهِAllahأَنْthatيَزْنِيhis servant commits adultery,عَبْدُهُ،or his female servant
And in the authentic narration from him, he said in the sermon of the eclipse: 'O nation of Muhammad, there is no one more jealous than Allah that his servant commits adultery, or that his female servant does.'
وَفِيAnd inالصَّحِيحِthe authenticأَيْضًاalsoعَنْهُfrom himأَنَّهُthat heقَالَsaid: لَا: Noأَحَدَoneأَغَيْرُis more jealousمِنَthanاللَّهِ،Allah,مِنْforأَجَلِthe sake ofذَلِكَthatحَرَّمَHe prohibitedالْفَوَاحِشَthe immoral actsمَاwhateverظَهَرَis apparentمِنْهَاfrom themوَمَاand whatبَطَنَis hidden.
And in the authentic narration from him, he said: 'No one is more jealous than Allah. For that reason, He prohibited immoral acts, whether they are apparent or hidden.'
وَلَاAnd noأَحَدٌoneأَحَبُّlovesإِلَيْهِmore than Himالْعُذْرُthe excuseمِنَthanاللَّهِ،Allah,مِنْforأَجَلِthe sake ofذَلِكَthatأَرْسَلَHe sentالرُّسُلَthe messengersمُبَشِّرِينَas bearers of good newsوَمُنذِرِينَ.and warners.
And no one loves excuses for the sake of that more than Allah. For that reason, He sent the messengers as bearers of good news and warners.
وَلَاAnd noأَحَدٌoneأَحَبُّlovesإِلَيْهِmore than Himالْمَدْحَpraiseمِنَthanاللَّهِ،Allah,مِنْforأَجَلِthe sake ofذَلِكَthatأَثْنَىHe praisedعَلَىonنَفْسِهِ»Himself.'
And no one loves praise for the sake of that more than Allah. For that reason, He praised Himself.'
فَجَمَعَHe combinedفِيinهَذَاthisالْحَدِيثِhadithبَيْنَbetweenالْغَيْرَةِthe jealousyالَّتِيwhichأَصْلُهَاits originكُرْهَةٌis the dislikeالْقَبَائِحَof the vile thingsوَبَعْضُهَاand some of it,وَمَحَبَّةِand the loveالْعُذْرِof excusesالَّذِيwhichيُوجِبُnecessitatesكَمَالَthe perfectionالْعَدْلِof justiceوَالرَّحْمَةِand mercyوَالإِحْسَانِ.and benevolence.
He combined in this hadith the jealousy, which originates from the dislike of vile things, and some of it, and the love of excuses which necessitates the completeness of justice, mercy, and benevolence.
وَأَنَّهُAnd indeed heسُبْحَانَهُGlory be to Himمَعَwithشِدَّةِthe intensityغَيْرَتِهِof His jealousyيُحِبُّlovesأَنْthatيَعْتَذِرَHis servant excuses himselfإِلَيْهِ،to Him,وَيَقْبَلَand He acceptsعُذْرَthe excuseمِنْfromاعْتَذَرَthe one who excuses himselfإِلَيْهِto Himوَأَنَّهُand that heلَاdoes notيُؤَاخِذُhold accountableعَبِيدَهُHis servantsبَارْتِكَابِfor committingمَاwhatيَغَارُHe is jealousمِنْofارتِكَابِهِcommitting itحَتَّىuntilيُعَذِّرَHe excusesإِلَيْهِم.them.
And indeed He, Glory be to Him, with the intensity of His jealousy loves that His servant excuses himself to Him, and He accepts the excuse from the one who excuses himself to Him. And He does not hold His servants accountable for committing what He is jealous of until He excuses them.
وَلَأَجْلِAnd for the sake ofذَلِكَthatأَرْسَلَHe sentرُسُلَهُHis messengersوَأَنزَلَand revealedكُتُبَهُHis booksإِعْذَارًاas an excuseوَإِنْذَارًا.and a warning.
And for the sake of that, He sent His messengers and revealed His books as an excuse and a warning.
وَهَذَاAnd thisغَايَةُis the utmostالْمَجْدِgloryوَالْإِحْسَانِand benevolenceوَنِهَايَةُand the end ofالْكَمَالِ،perfection,فَإِنَّfor indeedكَثِيرًاmanyمِمَّنْof those whoغَيْرَتِهِhave jealousyمِنَfromالْمَخْلُوقِينَthe creaturesتَحْمِلُهُdrives himشِدَّةُthe intensityالْغَيْرَةِof jealousyعَلَىtoسُرْعَةِthe speedالإِيقَاعِ(٥)of punishment.
And this is the utmost glory and benevolence and the end of perfection, for indeed many of those who have jealousy from the creatures are driven by the intensity of jealousy to the speed of punishment.
رَأَىWhen he seesمَعَwithامْرَأَتِهِhis wifeرَجُلًاa manفَقَتَلَهُhe kills him.
When he sees with his wife a man, he kills him.

(6846); and Muslim in the book of mutual cursing (1499).
وَسَعْدٌAnd Sa'dهُوَisسَعْدٌSa'dبِنْbinعُبَادَةَUbadahرَضِيَmay Allah be pleasedاللَّهُwith him.عَنْهُabout him.
And Sa'd is Sa'd bin Ubadah, may Allah be pleased with him.

(1) From the narration of Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her. It was narrated by Al-Bukhari in the eclipse, the chapter of charity in the eclipse (1044); and Muslim in the eclipse, the chapter of the prayer of the eclipse (901).

(۳)(3) مِنْFromحَدِيثِthe narrationعَبْدِاللَّهِof AbdullahبِنْbinمَسْعُودٍMas'udرَضِيَmay Allah be pleasedاللَّهُwith him.عَنْهُabout him.أَخْرَجَهُIt was narratedالْبُخَارِيُّby Al-Bukhariفِيinالتَّفْسِيرِ،the interpretation,بَابِthe chapterوَلَاand do notتَقْرَبُواapproachالْفَوَاحِشَthe disgraceful deedsمَاwhateverظَهَرَis apparentمِنْهَاof themوَمَاand whatever(٤٦٣٤)؛(4634);وَمُسْلِمٌand Muslimفِيinالتَّوْبَةِ،the repentance,بَابِthe chapterغَيْرَةِof jealousyاللَّهِof Allahتَعَالَىthe Exalted(٢٧٦٠).(2760).
(3) From the narration of Abdullah bin Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him. It was narrated by Al-Bukhari in the interpretation, the chapter 'And do not approach the disgraceful deeds, whatever is apparent of them and whatever is (4634); and Muslim in the repentance, the chapter of the jealousy of Allah the Exalted (2760).
