بَيَانٌStatementالْحُدُودِof the limitsوَالتَّعْزِيرَاتِand the penaltiesلِتَكُونَto beهَذِهِthisرَادِعَةًdeterrentلِمَنْfor whoeverلَمْdid notيَتَعَظَّtake heedبِتِلْكَfrom those.

A statement of limits and penalties to serve as a deterrent for those who do not take heed from these.

وَقَسَمَAnd he dividedالْعُقُوبَاتِthe punishmentsالشَّرْعِيَّةِthe legal onesإِلَىintoثَلاثَةٍthreeأَنْوَاعٍtypesالْقَتْلِof killing,,وَالْقَطْعِand cutting off,,وَالْجَلْدِand flogging;وَالْعُقُوبَاتِand the punishmentsالْقَدَرِيَّةِof retributionإِلَىintoنَوْعَيْنِtwo types::نَوْعٌone typeعَلَىonالْقَلْبِthe heart,,وَنَوْعٌand another typeعَلَىonالْبَدَنِthe body,

And he divided the legal punishments into three types: killing, cutting off, and flogging; and the retributive punishments into two types: one type on the heart, and another type on the body.

وَأَوْرَدَAnd he presentedطَرَفًاa glimpseمِنْهَاof itمَرَّةًonceأُخْرَىagain,,لِيَسْتَحْضِرَهَاto make the servant recall it,,وَيَكُفَّand to refrainعَنْfromالذُّنُوبِsins.

And he presented a glimpse of it once again, to make the servant recall it and to refrain from sins.

ثُمَّThenقَسَمَhe dividedالذُّنُوبَthe sinsإِلَىintoأَرْبَعَfourأَقْسَامٍcategoriesالْمِلْكِيَّةِof ownership,,وَالشَّيَاطِينِيَّةِand the satanic,,وَالسَّبُعِيَّةِand the animalistic,,وَالْبَهِيمِيَّةِand the bestial,

Then he divided the sins into four categories: those of ownership, satanic, animalistic, and bestial.

ثُمَّThenعَقَدَhe establishedفَصْلًاa sectionفِيonأَنَّthatالذُّنُوبَthe sinsكَبَائِرُare majorوَصَغَائِرُand minor.

Then he established a section on the division of sins into major and minor.

وَكَشَفَAnd he unveiledالْغِطَاءَthe veilعَنْfromالْقَوْلِthe sayingبِأَنَّthatالذُّنُوبَthe sinsكُلَّهَاall areكَبَائِرٌmajor sinsبِالنَّظَرِconsideringإِلَىtoالْجُرْأَةِthe audacityعَلَىagainstاللَّهِAllah.

And he unveiled the veil from the saying that all sins are major sins considering the audacity against Allah.

ثُمَّThenتَكَلَّمَhe spokeعَلَىaboutمَسْأَلَةٍthe issueوَهِيَwhich isأَنَّthatتَحْرِيمَthe prohibition ofالشِّرْكِpolytheismهَلْis itهُوَderivedمُسْتَفَادٌfromالشَّرْعِthe lawفَحَسْبٌalone,,,أَمْorهُوَis itقَبِيحٌdisgracefulفِيinالْفِطَرِinstinctsوَالْعُقُولِand minds,,وَمُمْتَنِعٌand impossibleأَنْto beتَأْتِيَbroughtبِهِby itشَرِيعَةٌa law?

Then he spoke about the issue which is whether the prohibition of polytheism is derived from the law alone, or is it disgraceful in instincts and minds, making it impossible to bring it about by a law?

وَمَاAnd whatالسِّرُّis the secretفِيinكَوْنِthe existence ofالشِّرْكِpolytheismلَاnotيُغْفَرُforgivenمِنْofبَيْنَamongسَائِرِall otherالذُّنُوبِsins?

And what is the secret in polytheism not being forgiven among all other sins?

وَقَدْAnd he hasفَصَلَdetailedالْقَوْلَthe sayingفِيinهَذِهِthisالْمَسْأَلَةِissueبِبَيَانِby showingأَنْوَاعِthe typesالشِّرْكِof polytheismوَحَقِيقَتِهِand its realityوَخَصَائِصِand characteristicsالْإِلَهِيَّةِdivine.

And he has detailed the saying in this issue by showing the types of polytheism, its reality, and divine characteristics.

وَكَوْنِAnd the fact thatالشِّرْكِpolytheismأَكْبَرَis the greatestالْكَبَائِرِof the major sinsعِنْدَin the sight ofاللَّهِAllah.

And the fact that polytheism is the greatest of the major sins in the sight of Allah.

وَتَكَلَّمَAnd he spokeبَعْدَafterذَلِكَthatعَلَىaboutمَفْسَدَةِthe corruption ofالْقَتْلِkillingبَاخْتِصَارٍbriefly,

And he spoke after that about the corruption of killing briefly.

ثُمَّThenتَنَاوَلَhe tackledمَفْسَدَةَthe corruption ofالزِّنَاadulteryوَاللُّوَاطِand sodomyبِالتَّفْصِيلِin detail,فَإِنَّforالْفَتْوَىthe fatwaكُلَّهَاall of itدَائِرَةٌrevolvesعَلَىaroundهَذِهِthisالْمَفْسَدَةِcorruption.

Then he tackled the corruption of adultery and sodomy in detail, for all of the fatwa revolves around this corruption.

فَذَكَرَSo he mentionedأَرْبَعَةَfourمَدَاخِلَentrancesلِلْمَعَاصِيto sins: [the] glancesاللَّحَظَاتِquick looks,,وَالخَطَرَاتِand fleeting thoughts,,وَالْلَّفَظَاتِand spoken words,,وَالْخُطُواتِand steps.

So he mentioned four entrances to sins: quick looks, fleeting thoughts, spoken words, and steps.

ثُمَّThenشَرَحَhe explainedمَفْسَدَةَthe corruption ofالزِّنَاadulteryوَمَاand whatاخْتَصَّis unique toحَدَّهُits punishmentبِهِaboutمِنْfromبَيْنِamongالْحُدُودِthe punishments,

Then he explained the corruption of adultery and what is unique to its punishment among the punishments,

ثُمَّThenبَيَّنَhe clarifiedعَظْمَthe severity ofمَفْسَدَةِthe corruption ofاللُّوَاطِsodomyوَشِدَّةَand the harshness of it,فَحْشَهَاits foulness,,وَرَدَّand he refutedعَلَىagainstمَنْthose whoجَعَلَmadeعُقُوبَتَهَاits punishmentدُونَless thanعُقُوبَةِthe punishment ofالزِّنَاadultery,,وَانْجَرَّand the discussion driftedالْكَلَامُtoوَطْءِintercourse withالْمَيْتَةِthe deadوَالْبَهِيمَةِand the animals,,وَالسُّحَاقِand lesbian relations,,,ثُمَّthenحَكَمَhe approvedالتَّلَاطَof sodomyمَعَwithالْمَمْلُوكِthe owned/slave.

Then he clarified the severity of the corruption of sodomy and its foulness, and he refuted those who made its punishment less than the punishment of adultery, and the discussion drifted to intercourse with the dead and animals, lesbian relations, and then he approved the sodomy with the slave.

عِلَاجُThe treatmentدَاءِof the ailmentالْعِشْقِof lust.هَذَاThisالْقِسْمُsectionهُوَisأَصْلُthe mainالْجَوَابِanswerوَمَقْصُودٌand the intent ofالسَّائِلِthe questioner.

The treatment of the ailment of lust. This section is the main answer and intent of the questioner.
