And the author attributed this saying in The Stages of the Seekers (536/1), and the abundant rain (109) to Sheikh al-Islam, and stated that he heard him say that, and it appears from the context that it is from the speech of Sheikh al-Islam himself, not from his narration of the speech of some of the earlier scholars.

And in another place (482 - 487), the author, may Allah have mercy on him, mentioned thirteen ways of the aspects of the strength of the urge to immorality in the story of the wife of Al-Aziz, and he mentioned a number of them in The Way of the Two Migrations (496), and the Garden of the Lovers (449), and The Stages of the Seekers (156/2); and he stated in the last one that they are from what he heard from Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, may Allah have mercy on him.

And there is nothing in that which is to be objected to, for the Sheikh of Islam is the teacher of the author and his guide, and the author is a disseminator of his Sheikh's sciences and an explainer of them.
