The method of verification.
اعْتَمَدْتُI reliedفِيonتَحْقِيقِverifyingنَصِّthe textالْكِتَابِof the bookعَلَىonالنُّسَخِthe copiesالْأَرْبَعِthe fourالأُولَىearliestذَواتِwhich haveالرُّمُوزِsymbols(س،(S, ف،F, ز،Z, ل)L), إذْasهِيَthey areأَقْدَمُthe oldestالنُّسَخِcopiesالَّتِيthatوَقَفْتُI have foundعَلَيْهَا،them.وَهِيَAnd they areمَنْحَدِرَةٌdescendedمِنْfromأُصُولٍdifferent sourcesمُخْتَلِفَةٍ..
I relied on verifying the text of the book on the first four earliest copies that have the symbols (S, F, Z, L), as they are the oldest copies that I have found, and they are descended from different sources.
ثُمَّThenرَجَعْتُI returnedإِلَىtoالنُّسْخَتَيْنِthe two copiesالمُتَأَخِّرَتَيْنِlater (copies)(خا،(Kh, خَبٍ)Khab)لِلْتَّأْيِيدِfor confirmationوَالاِسْتِئْنَاسِ.and reference.
Then, I returned to the two later copies (Kh, Khab) for confirmation and reference.
وَالْجَدِيرُAnd it is noteworthyبِالذِّكْرِto mentionأَنَّthatالنُّسَخَthe copies(ز،(Z, ل،L, خا)Kh)اُسْتُخْدِمَتْwere usedلِأَوَّلِfor the firstمَرَّةٍtimeفِيinهَذِهِthisالنَّشْرَةِ.edition.
And it is noteworthy to mention that the copies (Z, L, Kh) were used for the first time in this edition.
نُسْخَةُThe copyالإِسْكُورِيَالِof Escorial(س)(S)أَقْرَبُis closestهَذِهِthisالنُّسَخُcopiesإِلَىtoزَمَنِthe timeالمُؤَلِّفِ،of the author,إذْasكُتِبَتْit was writtenبَعْدَafterوَفَاةِthe deathالمُؤَلِّفِof the authorبِتِسْعَnineteenعَشَرَyears,وَلَكِنَّهَاbut itلَاdoes notتُفَضِّلُpreferكَثِيرًاmuchعَلَىoverغَيْرِهَاothersفِيinالصِّحَّةِaccuracyوَالإِتْقَانِand precision.وَمِنْهُنَاAnd from hereلَمْI did notأَتَّخِذْهَاtake itأَصْلًاas a basisفِيinإِثْبَاتِestablishingالنَّصِّ،the text,بَلْbutأَثْبَتُّI establishedعِندَwhenاخْتِلَافِthe differencesالنُّسَخِthe copiesمَاwhatظَهَرَتْappearedلِيto meرَجْحَانًاto be more probableمَعَwithالتَّنْبِيهِthe indicationعَلَىonمَاwhatفِيinسَائِرِهَا.all others.
The copy of Escorial (S) is the closest of these copies to the time of the author, as it was written nineteen years after the author's death, but it does not favor much over others in accuracy and precision. And from here, I did not take it as a basis in establishing the text, but I established what appeared to me more probable among the differences of the copies with an indication of what is in all others.
وَكَانَAnd there wasالِاهْتِمَامُthe attentionمُنصَبًّاfocusedعَلَىonالْقِرَاءَةِthe readingالدَّقِيقَةِcarefulلِهَذِهِof theseالنُّسَخِcopiesمَعَwithالتَّنْبِيهِthe indicationلِمَاof whatقَدْmightيَكُونَbeفِيَهَاin themمِنْofسَقَطٍomissionsوَتَصْحِيفٍand distortionsوَتَصَرُّفَاتٍand alterationsالْقُرَّاءِ.by the readers.
And there was attention focused on the careful reading of these copies with the indication of what might be of omissions, distortions, and alterations by the readers.
وَقَدْAnd I haveأَثْبَتُّestablishedالْفُرُوقَthe differencesالمُهِمَّةَimportantفِيinالْحَوَاشِي،the margins,وَأَغْفَلْتُand I omittedاخْتِلَافَهَاtheir differencesفِيinعِبَارَاتِthe phrasesتَنْزِيهِof sanctifyingاللَّهِGodسُبْحَانَهُthe Exaltedوَتَمْجِيدِهِand glorifying Himوَالصَّلاَةِand prayingعَلَىuponالنَّبِيِّthe Prophetﷺ(peace be upon him)وَالتَّرْضِيُand expressing satisfactionعَنْaboutصَحَابَتِهِ.his companions.
And I have established the important differences in the margins, and I omitted their differences in the phrases of sanctifying God, the Exalted, and glorifying Him, and praying upon the Prophet (peace be upon him) and expressing satisfaction about his companions.
وَكَذَٰلِكَSimilarly,الْفُرُوقَthe differencesغَيْرَnonالمُهِمَّةِimportantالَّتِيthatتَكْثُرُpredominateفِيinمِثْلِlikeهَذِهِtheseالنُّسَخِ،copies,وَلَاand notيُفِيدُbeneficialإِثْبَاتُهَاto establish themإِلَّاexceptإِثْقَالًاoverburdeningالْحَوَاشِي .the margins.
Similarly, the non-important differences that predominate in like these copies, and do not beneficially establish them except for overburdening the margins.
وَقَدْAnd I haveعَنِيتُconcernedبِضَبْطِwith correctingمَاwhatيُشَكِّلُis problematicمِنْofالنَّصِّthe textوَتَفْسِيرِand interpretingالأَلْفَاظِthe wordsوَالتَّعْبِيرَاتِand expressionsالْغَرِيبَةِ،strange,وَتَوْثِيقِand documentingالنُّقُولِ،the quotations,وَالرَّبْطِand linkingبَيْنَbetweenهَذَاthisالْكِتَابِbookوَالْكُتُبِand the booksالأُخْرَىotherلِلْمُؤَلِّفِ .of the author.
And I have concerned myself with correcting what is problematic of the text and interpreting the strange words and expressions, and documenting the quotations, and linking this book with the other books of the author.
لَمْI did notأَضَعْplaceعَنَاوِينَsubtitlesجانبية،side,وَرَأَيْتُand I sawأَنَّthatتَحْبِيرَhighlightingبَعْضَsomeالْكَلِمَاتِwordsأَوْorالْجُمَلِsentencesالْمَوْرِدَةِpresentفِيinالنَّصِّthe textيُغْنِيsufficesعَنْforمِثْلِsuchهَذِهِtheseالْعَنَاوِينِ .titles.
I did not place side subtitles, and I saw that highlighting some words or sentences present in the text suffices for such titles.
