السَّلفُthe predecessorمِنْofسُرُورِهِhis happinessأَنْthatيَكُونَto beأَقْوَىstrongerالنَّاسِthe peopleفَلْيَتَوَكَّلْthen let him trustعَلَىinاللَّهِAllah
The predecessor, whoever is happy to be the strongest of people, then let him trust in Allah.
وَفِيAnd inالصَّحِيحَيْنِthe two authentic booksعَنْfromعَبْدِ اللَّهِAbdullahابْنِson ofعُمَرَUmarأَنْthatرَسُولَthe Messengerاللَّهِof Allah(صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ)(peace be upon him)
And in the two authentic books from Abdullah son of Umar that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) described.
صِفَتَهُhis characteristicفِيinالتَّوْرَاةِthe TorahإِنَّاIndeedأَرْسَلْنَاكَWe sent youشَاهِدًاas a witnessوَandمُبَشِّرًاa bearer of good newsوَandنَذِيرًاa warnerوَحَارِزًاand a safeguardلِلْأُمِيِّينَfor the unlettered
Indeed, We sent you as a witness, a bearer of good news, a warner, and a safeguard for the unlettered.
أَنتَYou areعَبْدِيMy servantوَرَسُولِيand My MessengerسَمَّيْتُكَI named youالْمُتَوَكِّلَthe Trustworthy
You are My servant and My Messenger; I named you the Trustworthy.
لَيْسَnotبِفَظٍّharshوَلَاnorغَلِيظٍrudeوَلَاnorصَخَّابٍloudفِيinالْأَسْوَاقِthe markets
He is not harsh, nor rude, nor loud in the markets.
وَلَاand notيَجْزِيhe retaliatesبِالسَّيِّئَةِwith evilالْسَّيِّئَةِthe evil
And he does not retaliate with evil for evil.
وَلَكِنbutيَجْزِيhe rewardsبِالسَّيِّئَةِthe evilالْحَسَنَةِwith the goodوَandيَغْفِرُhe forgives.وَلَنAnd I will notأَقْبِضَهُtake himحَتَّىuntilأُقِيمَI establishبِهِthrough himالْمِلَّةَthe communityالْعَوَجَاءَthe crooked.
But he rewards the evil with good, and he forgives. And I will not take him until I establish through him the crooked community.
فَأَفْتَحَSo I openبِكَthrough youأَعْيُنًاthe eyesعُمْيًاblindوَآذَانًاand earsصُمًّاdeaf.وَقُلُوبًاand heartsغُلْفًاsealed.
So I open blind eyes, deaf ears, and sealed hearts through you.
بِأَنْby sayingيَقُولُواthey sayلَاnoإِلَهَgodإِلَّاexceptاللَّهَAllah.
By saying that they say, 'There is no god but Allah.'
