الإقْرَارُthe acknowledgmentرُكْنٌpillarفِيinالإيمَانِthe faithلِأَنَّbecauseأَصْلُthe originالإيمَانِof faithالإقْرَارُthe acknowledgmentوَالتَّصْدِيقُand the affirmationبِالأشياءِof the thingsالسَّتَّةِthe sixالمَذْكُورَةِmentionedلِقَوْلِهِfor His sayingعَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُpeace be upon him
The acknowledgment is a pillar in faith because the origin of faith is the acknowledgment and affirmation of the six things mentioned for His saying: peace be upon him.
الإيمَانُthe faithأَنْthatتُؤْمِنَyou believeبِاللَّهِin Allahوَمَلَائِكَتِهِand His angelsوَكُتُبِهِand His booksوَرُسُلِهِand His messengersوَالْيَوْمِand the Dayالآخِرِof the Lastوَتُؤْمِنَand you believeبِالْقَدَرِin the destinyخَيْرِهِits goodوَشَرِّهِand its evil
Faith is that you believe in Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers, and the Day of the Last, and you believe in the destiny, its good and its evil.
وَالْمَلَائِكَةُAnd the angelsعِندَaccording toأَكْثَرَmostالْمُسْلِمِينَof the Muslimsأَجْسَامٌare bodiesلَطِيفَةٌsubtleقَادِرَةٌcapableعَلَىofالتَّشَكُّلِtaking shapesبِأَشْكَالٍin formsمُخْتَلِفَةٍdifferent
And the angels, according to most Muslims, are subtle bodies capable of taking different forms.
مُنْقَسِمَةٌare dividedإِلَىintoقَسَمَيْنِtwo sectionsقَسْمٌOne sectionشَأْنُهُمْtheir concernالاِسْتِغْرَاقِis engrossedفِيinمَعْرِفَةِknowledge ofالْحَقِّtruthوَالتَّنْزِيهِand glorificationوَهُمْand they areالْعُلَوِيَاتُthe Highestوَالْمَلَائِكَةُand the angelsالْمُقَرَّبُونَthe close onesوَقَسْمٌAnd the other sectionيُدَبِّرُmanagesالأَمْرَthe affairsمِنَfromالسَّمَاءِthe skyإِلَىtoالأَرْضِthe earthعَلَىbased onمَاwhatسَبَقَwas precededبِهِby itالْقَضَاءِthe decreeوَجَرَىand has been writtenالْقَلَمُthe penالإِلَٰهِىُthe divine
They are divided into two sections: one section is engrossed in the knowledge of the truth and glorification, which are the Highest and the close angels, and the other section manages the affairs from the sky to the earth based on what has been decreed and written by the divine pen.
فَمِنْهُمْSo among themسَمَاوِيَّةٌare celestialوَمِنْهُمْand among themأَرْضِيَّةٌare earthly.وَالْإِيْمَانُAnd the beliefبِالْكُتُبِin the booksهُوَisالتَّصْدِيقُthe affirmationالْجَازِمُcertainبِوُجُودِهَاabout their existenceوَبِأَنَّهَاand that they are
So among them are celestial, and among them are earthly. And the belief in the books is the certain affirmation about their existence and that they are the words of Allah.
وَجَمِيعُand allالْكُتُبُthe booksالْمُنَزَّلَةُrevealedعَلَىtoالرُّسُلِthe Messengersمِئَةٌone hundredوَأَرْبَعَةٌand fourكُتُبٌbooksأُنزِلَتْwere revealedعَلَىtoآدَمَAdamعَلَيْهِpeace be upon himمِنْهَاamong themعَشَرٌtenصَحَائِفُfoliosوَعَلَىand onشِيثَShithعَلَيْهِpeace be upon himخَمْسُونَfiftyصَحِيفَةٌfoliosوَعَلَىand onإِدْرِيسَIdrisعَلَيْهِpeace be upon himمِنْهَاamong themثَلاَثُونَthirtyصَحِيفَةٌfoliosوَعَلَىand onإِبْرَاهِيمَIbrahimعَلَيْهِpeace be upon himعَشَرٌtenصَحَائِفُfolios
And all the books revealed to the messengers are one hundred and four books, revealed to Adam, peace be upon him, among them are ten folios, and to Shith, peace be upon him, fifty folios, and to Idris, peace be upon him, among them are thirty folios, and to Ibrahim, peace be upon him, ten folios.
وَالسَّمْعُAnd hearingوَالبَصَرُand sightوَالإِرَادَةُand willوَأَمَّاAs forالْفِعْلِيَّةُthe actual attributesفَالتَّخْلِيقُit is creationوَالْتَّرْزِيقُand provisionوَالْإِنْشَاءُand creationوَالْإِبْدَاعُand innovationوَالصَّنْعُand makingوَغَيْرُand othersذَلِكَthatمِنْofصِفَاتِattributesالْفِعْلِthe actionلَمْnotيَزَلْhas beenوَلَاand norيَزَالُisبِصِفَاتِهِby His attributesوَأَسْمَائِهِand namesلَمْnotيَحْدُثْoccurلَهُto Himصِفَةٌan attributeوَلَاnorإِسْمٌa name
And hearing, and sight, and will. As for the actual attributes, they are creation, provision, initiation, innovation, making, and others; that is from the attributes of the action. He has not had any attribute or name occur to Him.
