وَإِنِّيAnd Iقَائِلٌam sayingقَوْلًاa statementغَيْرَother thanفَخْرٍpride
And I am saying a statement other than pride: Ibrahim is the friend of God and Musa is God’s speaker.
اللَّهُGod
God.
وَAndآدَمُAdamعَلَيْهِupon himالسَّلاَمُpeace::
And Adam, peace be upon him.
صَفِيٌّchosenاللَّهِof God
He is the chosen one of God.
،,وَأَنَاAnd IوَمَعِيَAnd with meلِوَاءٌa banner
And I have a banner.
حَبِيبٌbeloved
Beloved.
الْحَمْدُPraiseيَوْمَdayالْقِيَامَةِof resurrection
Praise on the day of resurrection,
،,ثُمَّthenأَشَارَhe pointedالإِمَامُthe Imamالْأَعْظَمُthe greatestبِقَوْلِهِby his saying(وَعَبْدِهِ)(and His servant)
then the greatest Imam pointed by saying (and His servant)
إِلَىtoفَائِدَتَيْنِtwo benefitsأَعْنِيI meanتَشْرِيفِthe honor ofمُحَمَّدٍMuhammad،,وَحِفْظِand the protectionالْأُمَّةِof the nationعَنْfromقَوْلِthe sayingالنَّصَارَىof the Christians
to two benefits, I mean the honor of Muhammad, and the protection of the nation from the saying of the Christians.
وَقَالَAnd saidأَبُوAbuالْقَاسِمِal-QasimسُلَيْمَانُSulaimanالْأَنْصَارِيُّthe Ansari::لَمَّاWhenوَصَلَhe reachedمُحَمَّدٌMuhammadعَلَيْهِupon himالصَّلاَةَthe prayerوَالسَّلاَمُand peaceإِلَىtoالْدَّرَجَاتِthe degreesالْعَالِيَةِthe highوَالْمَرَاتِبِand the ranksالرَّفِيعَةِthe loftyفِيinالْمَعَارِجِthe ascensions
And Abu al-Qasim Sulaiman the Ansari said: When Muhammad, peace be upon him, reached the high degrees and the lofty ranks in the ascensions,
أَوْحَىGod revealedاللَّهُGodتَعَالَىthe Most Highإِلَيْهِto himفَقَالَand He said::بِمَWith whatأَشَارَتَdid you pointفَكto you?؟?
God revealed to him and said: With what did you point to (your rank)?
قَالَHe said::يَاOرَبِّLordبِنَسَبَتِيby my relationإِلَىtoنَفْسِكَYourselfبِالْعُبُودِيَّةِin servitude
He said: O Lord, by my relation to Yourself in servitude,
فَأَنْزِلَthen came downفِيهِin itقَوْلُهُHis sayingسُبْحَانَهُGlory be to Himوَتَعَالَىand the Most High::«سُبْحَانَ"Gloryالَّذِيbe to the One Whoأَسْرَىtook in night journeyبِعَبْدِهِwith His servantلَيْلًاat night
then came down His saying: Glory be to Him who took His servant at night.

فَقَالَHe saidعَلَيْهِupon himالسَّلاَمُpeace::لَاDo notتَطْرُونِيexaggerate meكَمَاasأَطْرَتِthe Christians praisedالنَّصَارَىthe ChristiansعِيسَىJesusابْنَson ofمَرْيَمَMaryوَقُولُواand sayعَبْدُ اللَّهِthe servant of Godوَرَسُولُهُand His messenger
He said: Do not exaggerate me as the Christians praised Jesus son of Mary, and say: He is the servant of God and His messenger.
كَذَلِكَLikewiseفِيinالْمَشَارِقِthe eastern regionsأَيi.e.,لَاdo notتَجَاوَزُواexceedعَنْbeyondالْحَدِّthe limitsفِيinمَدْحِيmy praiseكَمَاasبَالَغَthey exaggeratedالنَّصَارَىthe ChristiansفِيinمَدْحِpraiseعِيسَىJesusعَلَيْهِpeace be upon himحَتَّىuntilكَفَرُواthey become disbelieversفَقَالُواSo they saidإِنَّهُIndeed, heابْنُsonاللَّهِof Godوَقُولُواand sayفِيaboutحَقيmy realityإِنَّهُIndeed, heعَبْدٌservantاللَّهِof Godوَرَسُولُهُand His messenger
Likewise in the eastern regions, do not exceed the limits in my praise as the Christians exaggerated in praising Jesus until they became disbelievers, saying: Indeed, he is the son of God; and say about my reality: Indeed, he is the servant of God and His messenger.
حَتَّىuntilلَاnotتَكُونُواyou beأَمْثَالَهُمlike themوَرَسُولَهُand His messengerوَنَبِيِّهِand His Prophetلِقَوْلِهِdue to His sayingتَعَالَىthe Most HighمُحَمَّدٌMuhammadرَسُولُmessengerاللَّهِof Godلِلْأَوْلِيَاءِfor the friendsحَقٌّindeed
until you do not become like them, and His messenger and His Prophet due to His saying, the Most High: ‘Muhammad is the messenger of God.’
وَأَمَّاAnd as forالَّتِيthe ones thatتَكُونُareلِأَعْدَائِهِfor His enemiesمِثْلَlikeإِبْلِيسَIblisوَفِرْعَوْنَand Pharaohوَالْدَّجَّالَand the Dajjalفَمَاthen whatرُوِيَwas narratedفِيinالْأَخْبَارِthe reportsأَنَّهُthat heكَانَwasوَيَكُونُand there will beلَهُمْfor themلَاnotنُسَمِّيَهَاwe call themآيَاتٍsignsوَلَاand notكَرَامَاتٍmiraclesوَلَكِنَّbutنُسَمِّيَهَاwe call themقَضَاءًfulfillmentحَاجَاتِهِمof their needs
And as for the ones that are for His enemies, like Iblis and Pharaoh and the Dajjal, then what was narrated in the reports that he was and there will be for them, we do not call them signs nor miracles, but we call them the fulfillment of their needs.
