وَandأَنْthatمُوسَىٰMosesعَلَيْهِpeace be upon himالسَّلامُpeaceسَأَلَaskedاللَّهَAllahعَزَّMightyوَجَلَّand Majestic
And that Moses, peace be upon him, asked Allah, the Mighty and Majestic
الرُّؤْيَةُthe visionفِيinالدُّنْيَاthe worldوَأَنْand thatاللَّهَAllahسُبْحَانَهُGlory be to Himتَجَلَّىmanifestedلِلْجَبَلِto the mountainفَجَعَلَهُand made itدَكًّاdustفَأَعْلَمَand informedبِذَلِكَof thatمُوسَىٰMosesأَنَّهُthat heلَاnotيَرَاهُwill see Himفِيinالدُّنْيَاthe world
And that Allah, Glory be to Him, manifested to the mountain and made it dust, and informed Moses that he will not see Him in this world.
وَنُؤْمِنُand we holdبِأَنْthatلَاnotنُكَفِّرَdisbelieveأَحَدًاanyoneمِنْfromأَهْلِthe peopleالْقِبْلَةِof the qiblaبِذَنبٍby a sinيَرْتَكِبُهُcommittedكَالزِّنَاlike adulteryوَالسَّرِقَةِand theftوَشَرْبِand drinkingالْخَمْرِof alcohol
And we hold that we do not disbelieve anyone from the people of the qibla by a sin they commit such as adultery, theft, and drinking of alcohol.
كَمَاasدَانَتِthe Kharijites heldبِذَلِكَof thatالْخَوَارِجُthe Kharijitesوَزَعَمَتْand claimedأَنَّهُمْthat theyكَافِرُونَare disbelievers
As the Kharijites held that they are disbelievers.
وَنَقُولُand we sayإِنَّthatمَنْwhoeverعَمِلَcommitsكَبِيرَةًa major sinمِنْofهَذِهِtheseالْكَبَائِرِmajor sinsمَثَلَlikeالزِّنَاadulteryوَالسَّرِقَةِand theftوَمَاand whatأَشْبَهَهُمَاresembles them
And we say that whoever commits a major sin of these major sins, like adultery and theft and what resembles them,
مُسْتَحِلًّاbelieving them permissibleلَهَاfor themغَيْرَnotمُعْتَقِدًاbelievingلِتَحْرِيمِهَاin their prohibitionكَانَisكَافِرًاa disbeliever
is a disbeliever.
وَنَقُولُand we sayإِنَّthatالإِسْلَامَIslamأَوْسَعُis broaderمِنْthanالإِيمَانِfaithوَلَيْسَand notكُلُّeveryإِسْلَامٍIslamإِيمَانٌis faithوَنُؤْمِنُand we holdاللَّهَAllahعَزَّthe Mightyوَجَلَّand Majesticبِأَنَّهُthat Heيُقَلِّبُturnsالْقُلُوبَthe heartsبَيْنَbetweenأَصْبُعَيْنِtwo fingersمِنْofأَصَابِعِthe fingersاللَّهِAllahعَزَّthe Mightyوَجَلَّand Majestic
And we hold that Islam is broader than faith, and not every Islam is faith, and we believe that Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, turns the hearts between two fingers of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic.
وَأَنَّهُAnd that Heعَزَّ وَجَلَّthe Mighty and Majesticيَضَعُputsالسَّمَاوَاتِthe heavensعَلَىonإصْبَعٍa fingerوَالْأَرْضِينَand the worldsعَلَىonإصْبَعٍa fingerكَمَاasجَاءَتْcameمِنَfromالرِّوَايَةِthe narrationعَنْaboutرَسُولِthe Messengerاللَّهِof Allahﷺpeace be upon him
And that He, the Mighty and Majestic, puts the heavens on a finger and the worlds on a finger as came in the narration about the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him.
وَنُؤْمِنُAnd we holdبِأَنْthatلَاnotنُنَزِّلَwe lowerأَحَدًاanyoneمِنْfromأَهْلِthe peopleالتَّوْحِيدِof monotheismوَالْمُتَمَسِّكِينَand those who adhereبِالإِيمَانِto the faithجَنَّةًa paradiseوَلَاand notنَارًاa fireإِلَّاexceptمِنْfromشَهِدَtestifiedلَهُfor himرَسُولُthe Messengerاللَّهِof Allahلَهُfor himبِالْجَنَّةِwith paradise
And we hold that we do not lower anyone from the people of monotheism and those who adhere to the faith to paradise or to hell, except one whom the Messenger of Allah testified for him with paradise.
وَنَرْجُوAnd we hopeالْجَنَّةَparadiseلِلْمُذْنِبِينَfor the sinnersوَنَخَافُand we fearعَلَيْهِمْfor themأَنْthatيَكُونُواthey may beبِالنَّارِin the fireمُعَذَّبِينَpunished
And we hope for the paradise for the sinners, and we fear for them that they may be punished in the fire.
وَنَقُولُAnd we sayإِنَّthatاللَّهَAllahعَزَّthe Mightyوَجَلَّand Majesticيُخْرِجُbrings outقَوْمًاa peopleمِنَfromالنَّارِthe fireبَعْدَafterأَنْthatامْتَحَشُواthey have been burnedبِشَفَاعَةِby the intercessionرَسُولِthe Messengerاللَّهِof Allahتَصْدِيقًاconfirmingلِمَاfor whatجَاءَتْcameبِهِwith itالرِّوَايَاتِthe narrationsعَنْaboutرَسُولِthe Messengerاللَّهِof Allahﷺpeace be upon him
And we say that Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, brings out a people from the fire after they have been burned by the intercession of the Messenger of Allah, confirming what has come in the narrations about the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him.
وَنُؤْمِنُAnd we believeبِعَذَابِin the punishmentالْقَبْرِof the graveوَبِالْحَوْضِand with the basinوَأَنَّand thatالْمِيزَانَthe scaleحَقٌّis true
And we believe in the punishment of the grave and in the basin, and that the scale is true.
