وَقَالُواAnd they said::أَيْنَاwhich of usلَمْdid notيَظْلِمwrongنَفْسَهُ؟himself?
And they said: "Which of us has not wronged himself?"
قَالَThe Messengerرَسُولof AllahاللَّهAllahﷺ::«لَيْسَ"It is notبِذَلِكَ،so,أَلَمْDid you notتَسْمَعُواhearإِلَىtheقَوْلsayingالْعَبْدof the servantالصَّالِحthe righteous:: إِنَّIndeedالشِّرْكَthe shirkلَظُلْمٌis a wrongعَظِيمٌ)great".إِنَّمَاIt is onlyهُوَthatالشِّرْكِ».shirk."
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "It is not so, did you not hear the saying of the righteous servant: 'Indeed, shirk (polytheism) is a great wrong'? It is only that which is shirk."
حَدَّثَنَاHe told usمُحَمَّدMuhammadبْنَbinيَحْيَى،Yahya,حَدَّثَنَاhe told usالْحَجَّاجAl-HajjajبْنَbinالْمَنْهَالAl-ManhalعَنْaboutحَمَّادHammadبْنَbinسَلَمَة،Salama,عَنْaboutعَلِيAliابْنَbinزَيْدZaid(۱)
He told us, 'Muhammad bin Yahya told us, Al-Hajjaj bin Al-Manhal told us about Hammad bin Salama, about Ali bin Zaid (1).'
عَنْAboutيُوسُفYusufبْنَbinمَهْرَانMahranعَنْaboutابْنِthe son ofعَبَّاسAbbasأَنَّthatعُمَرOmarبْنَbinالْخَطَّابAl-Khattabكَانَused toإِذَاwhenدَخَلَhe enteredبَيْتَهُhis houseنَشَرَhe would spreadالْمُصْحَفthe Mushafفَقَرَأَ،and read,فَدَخَلَhe enteredذَاتَoneيَوْمٍdayفَقَرَأَ،and read,فَأَتَىthen he cameعَلَىtoهَذِهِthisالْآيَةverse(الَّذِينَ(Those whoآمَنُواbelievedوَلَمْand did notيَلْبِسُواmixإِيمَانَهُمtheir faithبِظُلْمٍwith wrongأُو۟لَـٰئِكَThey are the onesلَهُمُfor themالأَمَانُsecurityوَهُمْand theyمُهْتَدُونَ،are guided.
About Yusuf bin Mahran, Ibn Abbas said that Omar bin Al-Khattab would, when he entered his house, spread the Mushaf and read. One day he entered and read until he came to this verse (Those who believed and did not mix their faith with wrong, they are the ones for them is security and they are guided).
فَانْتَعَلَSo he put onوَأَخَذَand tookرِدَاءَهُ،his cloak,ثُمَّthenأَتَىhe wentأَبِيto AbiبْنِbinكَعبKa'bفَقَالَand saidيَاOأَبَاAbuالْمُنْذِرAl-MundhirأَتَيْتُI came to youقَبْلَbeforeعَلَىtoهَذِهِthisالْآيَةverse (theالَّذِينَThose whoءَامَنُواbelievedوَلَمْand did notيَلْبِسُواmixإِيمَانَهُمtheir faithبِظُلْمٍwith wrongوَقَدْand indeedتَرَىyou seeأَنَاweنَظْلِمُwrongوَنَفْعَلُ؟!and do?!"
So he put on his shoes and took his cloak, then went to Abi bin Ka'b and said: "O Abu Al-Mundhir, I came before to this verse: 'Those who believed and did not mix their faith with wrong,' and you see that we wrong and do?!"
فَقَالَHe said:: يَاOأَمِيرCommanderالْمُؤْمِنِينَof the believers,,إِنَّIndeedهَذَاthisلَيْسَis notبِذَلِكَ،so,يَقُولُthe sayingاللَّه:of Allah:إِنَّIndeedالشِّرْكَshirkلَظُلْمٌis a wrongعَظِيمٌ.great.[لُقْمَان:[Luqman:١٣]13]إِنَّمَاIt is onlyذَلِكَthat (what)الشِّرْكَ.is shirk.
He said: "O Commander of the believers, indeed this is not so. The saying of Allah: 'Indeed, shirk is a great wrong.' [Luqman: 13] It is only that which is shirk."
قَالَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍمُحَمَّدsaid MuhammadبْنُbinنَصْرٍNusr::وَكَذَلِكَAnd likewiseالْفِسْقُthe viceفِسْقَانِtwo types: vice::فِسْقٌvice whichيُنْقَلُtransfersعَنْfromالْمِلَّة،the religion,وَفِسْقٌand viceلَاdoes notيُنْقَلُtransferعَنْfromالْمِلَّةthe religionفَيُسَمَّىand is calledالْكَافِرthe disbelieverفَاسِقًا،being disobedient,وَALْفَاسِقُand the disobedientمِنَfromالْمُسْلِمِينَthe Muslimsفَاسِقًا،is disobedient,ذَكَرَmentionedاللَّهُAllahإِبْلِيسَIblisفَقَالَ:"خَالله قَالَ،"},{
Muhammad bin Nusr said: "And likewise, there are two types of vice: one that removes one from religion, and the other that does not remove one from religion. The disbeliever is called disobedient, and the disobedient among the Muslims is also disobedient. Allah mentioned Iblis and said: 'He disobeyed the command of his Lord.' [Al-Kahf: 51] and that disobedience from him was disbelief.
