Saeed bin Jubair said: He is the man who gets angry, then remembers Allah, and suppresses his anger.

وَقَالَ(۱)And (1) he saidلَيْثٌLaythعَنْfromمُجَاهِدٍMujahid::هُوَheالرَّجُلُthe manيُهَمُّintendsبِالذَّنْبِ،to sin,فَيَذْكُرُthen remembersاللَّهَ،Allahفَيَدْعَهُ.and abandons it.

And Layth from Mujahid said: He is the man who intends to sin, then remembers Allah and abandons it.

And the desire and anger are the beginnings of evils, so when he sees, he returns.

ثُمَّThenقَالَ:he said:﴿وَإِخْوَانُهُمْ"And their brothersيَمُدُّونَهُمْextend to themفِيinالْغَيِّthe misguidanceثُمَّthenلَاdo notيُقْصِرُونَ ﴾shorten."

Then he said: "And their brothers extend to them in the misguidance, then do not shorten."

That is, and the brothers of the devils extend them in the misguidance, then do not shorten.

Ibn Abbas said: Neither humans shorten from evils, nor do the devils restrain them. So if he does not see, his heart remains in misguidance, and the devil extends him in his misguidance; and if belief is in his heart, he does not lie, that is the light and sight, and that fear and fright brings forth from his heart. This is just like a man who closes his eyes and sees nothing, even if he is not blind; similarly, the heart, with what it is covered by the rust of sins, does not see the truth, even if it is not blind like the blindness of the unbeliever.

And thus it came in the narrations: Ahmad bin Hanbal said in the book 'Faith': Yahya narrated to us, Ash’ath from al-Hasan: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Faith is taken away from him; if he repents, it is restored to him.'

And he said: Yahya narrated to us from Ouf, and he said: Al-Hasan said: He is distant from faith as long as it remains like that; if he returns, faith returns to him.

Ahmad said: He narrated to us from Muawiya, from Abu Ishaq, from Al-Awza'i, he said: And I said to Al-Zuhri - when he mentioned this hadith: 'Do not commit adultery while he is a believer - for they say: If he is not a believer, then what is he?' He denied that and disliked my question about him.

Ahmad said: He narrated to us from Abd Al-Rahman bin Mahdi, from Sufyan, from Ibrahim bin Muhajir, from Mujahid, from Ibn Abbas, who said to his students: Whoever among you wants marriage, I will marry him. No adulterer from you commits adultery except that Allah takes away the light of faith from him; if He wills to restore it, He restores it, and if He wills to prevent him, He prevents him.
