نَقَلَTransferكَلَامَspeechالْقَاضِيthe judgeأَبِيof AbuبَكْرٍBakrالْبَاقِلَانِيAl-Baqulaniمِنْfrom«التَّمْهِيدِ»"Al-Tamhid"فِيinالإِيمَانِfaith

The speech of Judge Abu Bakr Al-Baqulani has been transferred from "Al-Tamhid" regarding faith.

وَتَعَقَّبَAnd the author criticizedالْمُؤَلِّفُthe authorلَهُhim

And the author criticized him.

تَعْلِيقٌCommentaryلِلْأَسْتَاذِby the professorزُهَيْرٍZuhairعَلَىonالْبَيَاضِthe blankفِيinالأَصْلِthe original,,بِأَنَّهُthat it isكَلَامٌspeechلِلْمُؤَلِّفِof the authorلَاnotيُحْضَرُهُbroughtلِلِاسْتِشْهَادِfor citingبِهِit.

A commentary by Professor Zuhair on the blank in the original, asserting that it is speech of the author not brought for citation.

اَسْتِعْمَالٌUseلَفْظٌwordالْكَلَامِspeechوَالْقَوْلِand the sayingفِيinالمَعْنَىmeaningوَالْلَّفْظِand the term.

مُخَالَفَةٌContradictionالْأَشْعَرِيِّof Al-Ash'ariوَبَعْضٍand someأَصْحَابِهِof his companionsوَأَتْبَاعِهِمand their followers,,لِقَوْلِto the statementالسَّلَفِof the Salafفِيinمَسْأَلَةِthe issueالإيمَانِof faith.

The contradiction of Al-Ash'ari and some of his companions and their followers to the statement of the Salaf regarding the issue of faith.

احتِجاجٌThe argumentالْجَهْمِيَّةِof the Jahmiyyahوَمَنْand those who follow themتَبِعُهُمْfollowed themبِقَوْلِهِby His sayingتَعَالَىthe Most High::﴿لَا"Notتَجِدُfindقَوْمًاa peopleيُؤْمِنُونَwho believeبِاللَّهِin Allahوَالْيَوْمِand in the Dayالآخِرِthe Last.......

The argument of the Jahmiyyah and those who follow them by His saying, the Most High: "Not a people will you find who believe in Allah and the Last Day...".

وَAndبَيَانٌclarificationأَنَّهُthat thereلَاhas noحُجَّةٌevidenceفِيهاin itلَهُمْfor them.

And clarification that there is no evidence in it for them.

اخْتَلَفَتْThere was a differenceقَوْلٌof sayingالْأَشْعَرِيِّAl-Ash'ariوَغَيْرِهِand othersفِيinالْجَهْلِignoranceبِبَعْضِabout someالْخَصَائِصِattributes,,هَلْis itيَكُونُconsideredجَهْلًاignoranceبِالْمَوْصُوفِof the describedأَمْor no?

There was a difference in the saying of Al-Ash'ari and others regarding ignorance of some attributes, is it considered ignorance of the described or not?

فَصْلٌSectionفِيaboutالَّذِينَthose whoنَاصَرُواsupportedقَوْلَthe sayingجَهْمٍof Jahmجَعَلُواmadeالإيمَانَfaithخَصْلَةًa characteristicمِنْofخَصَالِthe characteristicsالإِسْلَامِof Islam,,وَبُطْلَانِand invalidationهَذَاthisالْقَوْلِsayingوَبَيَانٍand demonstrationتَنَاقُضَهُits contradiction.

Section about those who supported the saying of Jahm, who made faith a characteristic of Islam, and the invalidation of this saying and explanation of its contradiction.

۱۸۷/۱۲۷187/127احتِجاجٌThe argumentهَؤُلَاءِtheseبِـwithقَالَتْsaidالأَعْرَابُthe Bedouinsآمَنَّاwe believe......وَبَيَانٌand clarificationأَنَّهَاthat itحُجَّةٌis evidenceعَلَيْهِمagainst them.

The argument of these by saying 'the Bedouins said, we believe...' and clarification that it is evidence against them.

فَصْلٌSection::الْقُرْآنُThe Qur'anيَدُلُّindicatesعَلَىthatأَنَّthe faithالإِيمَانَfaithالْمُطْلَقَabsoluteمُسْتَلْزِمٌis necessaryلِلْأَعْمَالِfor deeds.

Section: The Qur'an indicates that absolute faith is necessary for deeds.

فَصْلٌSection::إِذَاIfقُيِّدَthe faithالإِيمَانُis limitedفَقُرِنَthen it is coupledبِالإِسْلَامِwith Islamأَوْorبِالْعَمَلِwith good deedsالصَّالِحَrighteous,,فَإِنَّهُthen itقَدmayيُرَادُmeanبَهُby itمَاwhatفِيinالْقَلْبِthe heartبِاتِّفَاقِby consensusالنَّاسِof the people,,وهَلْand whetherيُرَادُis meantبَهُby itأَيْضًاalsoالْمُعَطُوفُthe conjunctعَلَيْهِon it?

Section: If faith is constrained, then it is coupled with Islam or righteous deeds, then it may mean what is in the heart by consensus of the people, and is it also meant by it the conjunct?

عَامَةُGeneralالأَسْمَاءِnamesيَتَغَيَّرُchangeمَسَمَّاهَاtheir meaningبِالْإِطْلاَقِby usageوَالتَّقْيِيدِand restriction,,وَالتَّجْرِيدِand abstraction,,وَالِاقْتِرَانِand conjunctionكَـlikeاللَّفْظِthe wordالْمَعْرُوفِthe goodوَالْمُنْكَرِand the evilوَالْعِبَادَةِand worshipوَالطَّاعَةِand obedienceوَالتَّقْوَىand pietyوَالْبِرِّand righteousness......

General names change their meaning by usage, restriction, abstraction, and conjunction, like the words of the good, the evil, worship, obedience, piety, and righteousness.

مِنْFromأَنْفَعِthe most beneficialالأُمُورِmattersفِيinمَعْرِفَةِknowledgeدَلَالَةِthe indicationالأَلْفَاظِof wordsالرُّجُوعِis to returnإِلَىtoالْكِتَابِthe Bookوَالسُّنَّةِand the Sunnah,,وَبِهَاand through itتَزُولُremovesشُبُهَاتٌthe doubtsكَثِيرَةٌmany,,فِيهَاin itنِزَاعٌdisputeبَيْنَamongالعُلَمَاءِthe scholars.

One of the most beneficial matters in understanding the indication of words is to return to the Book and the Sunnah, and through it, many doubts are removed, in which there is dispute among scholars.

عِبَارَاتُExpressionsالسَّلَفِof the Salafفِيinحَدِّthe definitionالإِيمَانِof faithوَمَعْنَاهَاand its meaning.

Expressions of the Salaf in the definition of faith and its meaning.

عَطْفُThe conjunctionالشَّيْءِof the thingعَلَىtoالشَّيْءِthe thingفِيinالْقُرْآنِthe Qur'anوَسَائِرِand otherالْكَلَامِspeechيَقْتَضِيrequiresمُغَايَرَةًdifferenceبَيْنَbetweenالْمُعَطُوفِthe conjunctوَالْمُعَطُوفِand the conjoinedعَلَيْهِon itفِيinالْحُكْمِthe rulingالَّذِيthatذُكِرَwas mentionedلَهُمَاfor them.

The conjunction of a thing to a thing in the Qur'an and other speech requires a difference between the conjunct and the conjoined in the ruling mentioned for them.
