وَطَلَبَAnd he requestedمِنَfromالْحُكَّامِthe rulersمُتَابَعَةَto continueالْجِهَادِthe jihadلِإِبَادَةِto eradicateأَعْدَاءِthe enemiesالْأُمَّةِof the nationالَّذِينَwhoكَانُواwereعَوْنًاan aidلِكُلِّto everyعَدُوٍّenemyلِلْأُمَّةِ.of the nation.
And he requested that the rulers continue the jihad to eradicate the enemies of the nation who were an aid to every enemy of the nation.
فَأَجَّجَThus, it stirred upذَٰلِكَthatعَلَيْهِagainst himحِقْدَhatredالْحُكَّامِof the rulersوَحَسَدٌand envyالْعُلَمَاءِof the scholarsوَالأَقْرَانِand peers,وَدَسَّand the schemingالْمُنَافِقِينَof the hypocritesوَالفُجَّارِ.and the wicked.
Thus, that stirred up the hatred of the rulers and the envy of the scholars and peers, and the scheming of the hypocrites and the wicked.
فَنَالَهُSo he sufferedالْأَذَىharmوَالسِّجْنَand imprisonmentوَالنَّفْيَand exileوَالتَّغْرِيبَ؛and alienation;فَمَاyet he did notلَانَyieldوَلَاnorخَضَعَ.did he submit.
So he suffered harm, imprisonment, exile, and alienation; yet he did not yield nor did he submit.
وَكَانَتْAnd his famousكَلِمَتُهُsaying was:مَاWhatيَصْنَعُdo my enemiesأَعْدَائِيto me?!!أَنَاI amجَنَّتِيmy paradiseوَبُسْتَانِيand my gardenفِيinصَدْرِي،my breast,أَنَّىwhereverرَحْتُI goفَهِيَit isمَعِيwith meلَاneverتَفَارِقُنِي.leaves me.
And his famous saying was: 'What do my enemies do to me?!! I am my paradise and my garden in my breast; wherever I go, it is with me; it never leaves me.'
أَنَاI amحَبْسِيmy imprisonmentخَلْوَةً،a solitude,وَوقْتِيmy deathشَهَادَةًa martyrdomوَإِخْرَاجِيand my expulsionمِنْfromبِلَادِيmy landسِيَاحَةً.is a pilgrimage.
I am my imprisonment a solitude, my death a martyrdom, and my expulsion from my land is a pilgrimage.
وَكَانَAnd he used to sayيَقُولُin his prison—وَمَاand how muchأَكْثَرَmoreمَاhe was imprisoned:الْمَحْبُوسُThe imprisoned oneمِنْis one whoحُبِسَimprisonsقَلْبَهُhis heartعَنْfromرَبِّهِhis Lordوَالْمَأْسُورُand the captiveمِنْis one whoأَسَرَهُis ensnaredهَوَاهُ.by his desire.
He used to say in his prison—and how often he was imprisoned: 'The imprisoned one is one who imprisons his heart from his Lord, and the captive is one who is ensnared by his desire.'
وَقَدْAnd hisزَادَتْwritings increasedمُؤَلَّفَاتِهِover three hundredعَلَىauthored works in variousثَلاثِ مِئَةٍthree hundredمُؤَلَّفٍauthored worksفِيinمُخْتَلَفٍvariousالْعُلُومِ.sciences.
And his writings increased to more than three hundred authored works in various sciences.
وَمِنْهَاAmong themمَاare those whichهُوَare inفِيmultipleمَجَلَّدَاتٍvolumes.مُتَعَدِّدَةٌ
Among them are those which are in multiple volumes.
وَكَانَتْAnd his deathوَفَاتُهُwas inفِيthe prison ofسِجْنِthe fortress ofقَلْعَةِDamascusدِمَشْقَon the night of Mondayلَيْلَةَthe night of Mondayالِاثْنَيْنِfor the twentyلِعِشْرِينَnights that passedخَلَتْfromمِنَthe month ofذِيDhuالْقَعْدَةِal-Qi'dahسَنَةَin the year٧٢٨728—عَلَيْهِmay God have mercy on him.
And his death was in the prison of the fortress of Damascus on the night of Monday for the twenty nights that passed from the month of Dhu al-Qi'dah in the year 728—may God have mercy on him.
