As they called some words indeed, they divided it into past, present, and imperative verbs, and the Arabs never called the term a verb, but the grammarians have agreed upon this, so they named the term by its meaning. They called the word indicating the occurrence of an action in the past time a past verb. Similarly, the others, and likewise wherever it was found in the Book and the Sunnah, rather, in the speech of the Arabs, both in its poetry and prose, the term ‘word’ is meant to refer to what is useful, which the grammarians call a complete sentence, as in His saying, the Most High:

(1) Agreed upon. This is from the poetry of Labid son of Rabi'a in his diwan, page 132, and for the hadith, there are other narrations among them: ‘The most eloquent word ever spoken by the Arabs and the hadith is agreed upon its origin and authenticity.

And the Sheikh Al-Albani hesitated in the authenticity of the narration ‘the most eloquent’ and he said in ‘The synopsis of The virtues’, page 130: ‘It has not been verified that the completion of the verse: ‘and every bliss without a doubt is void,’ because it contains no specification.

And this is strange from him, for indeed these segments are certainly the completion of the verse as found in all sources, and it almost is concurrent for the poet.
