ٱلصِّفَاتُThe attributes
The attributes.
فَلِذَٰلِكَThereforeوَسِعَتْencompassedرَحْمَتُهُHis mercyكُلَّeveryشَيْءٍthing
Therefore, His mercy has encompassed every thing.
وَفِيAnd inالصَّحِيحِthe authenticمِنْofحَدِيثِthe Hadithأَبِيof AbuهُرَيْرَةَHurairaرَضِيَpleasedٱللَّهُGodعَنْهُupon him:قَالَ: saidرَسُولُ ٱللَّهِthe Messenger of Godصَلَّىpeaceٱللَّهُbe upon Godعَلَيْهِon himوَسَلَّمَand peace:«لَمَّا: "WhenقَضَىHe decreedٱللَّهُGodٱلْخَلْقَthe creationكَتَبَwroteفِيinكِتَابٍa bookفَهُوَIt isعِندَهُwith Himمَوْضُوعٌplacedعَلَىuponٱلْعَرْشِthe Throne.إِنَّIndeedرَحْمَتِيMy mercyتَغْلِبُovercomesغَضَبِيMy wrath.
And in the authentic Hadith of Abu Huraira, may God be pleased with him, said: The Messenger of God, peace be upon him, said: "When God decreed the creation, He wrote in a book, and it is with Him placed upon the Throne: 'Indeed, My mercy overcomes My wrath.'"
وَفِيAnd inلَفْظٍthe wording«فَهُوَ'It isعِندَهُwith Himعَلَىuponٱلْعَرْشِthe Throne'.
And in the wording, 'It is with Him upon the Throne'.
فَتَأَمَّلْSo contemplateاخْتِصَاصَthe specializationهَذَاof thisٱلْكِتَابَbookبِذِكْرِmentioningالرَّحْمَةِthe mercy،, وَوَضْعِهِand its placementعِندَهُwith Himعَلَىuponٱلْعَرْشِthe Throne,,, وَطَابِقْand correlateبَيْنَbetweenذَٰلِكَthatوَبَيْنَandقَوْلِهِHis saying:: الرَّحْمَانُthe Most Graciousعَلَىuponٱلْعَرْشِthe ThroneاسْتَوَىHe established.
So contemplate the specialization of this book in mentioning mercy and its placement with Him upon the Throne, and correlate that with His saying: 'The Most Gracious established upon the Throne.'
وَقَوْلِهِAnd His saying:: ثُمَّThenاسْتَوَىHe establishedعَلَىuponٱلْعَرْشِthe Throneالرَّحْمَـٰنُthe Most Graciousفَاسْأَلْso askبِهِabout Himخَبِيراًan expert.
And His saying: 'Then the Most Gracious established upon the Throne, so ask about Him an expert.'
يَنْفَتِحُWill openلَكَfor youبَابٌa doorعَظِيمٌgreatمِنْofمَعْرِفَةِknowledgeٱلرَّبِّthe LordتَبَارَكَBlessedوَتَعَالَىand Exalted.
A great door of knowledge of the Lord, blessed and exalted, will open for you.
إِنْIfلَمْnotيُغْلِقْهُclose itعَنكَfrom youالتَّعْطِيلُthe negationوَالتَّجَهُّمُand the frowning.
If it is not closed from you by negation and frowning.
وَصِفَاتُAnd the attributes,, الْعَدْلُjustice,, وَالْقَبْضُand withholding,, وَالْبَسْطُand expansion,, وَالْخَفْضُand lowering,, وَالْرَّفْعُand raising,, وَالْعَطَاءُand giving,, وَالْمَنْعُand withholding,, وَالإِعْزَازُand honor,, وَالإِذْلَالُand humiliation,, وَالْقَهْرُand power,, وَالحُكْمُand judgment,, وَنَحْوَهَاand similar.
And the attributes of justice, withholding and expansion, lowering and raising, giving and withholding, honor and humiliation, power and judgment, and similar are most specifically associated with the name 'the King'.
وَخَصَّهُAnd He specified itبِيَوْمِby the Dayالدِّينِof Judgment,, وَهُوَand it isالْجَزَاءُthe recompenseبِالْعَدْلِin justice.لِتَفَرُّدِهِFor His uniquenessبِالْحُكْمِin judgmentفِيهِin itوَحْدَهُalone.وَلِأَنَّهُAnd because it isٱلْيَوْمُthe Dayالْحَقُّof truth,,, وَمَاand whatقَبْلَهُbefore itكَسَاعَةٍlike an hour,, وَلِأَنَّهُand because it isالْغَايَةُthe goal,,, وَأَيَّامٌand the daysالدُّنْيَاof this worldمَرَاحِلُare stagesإِلَيْهِto it.
And He specified it by the Day of Judgment, which is the recompense in justice, for His uniqueness in judgment in it alone, and because it is the Day of Truth, and what is before it is like an hour, and because it is the goal, and the days of this world are stages to it.
ٱرْتِبَاطُThe connectionٱلْخَلْقِof creation//ٱلْأَمْرِthe commandبِأَسْمَائِهِwith His namesٱللَّهُGodـ-ٱلرَّبُّthe Lord--الرَّحْمَـٰنُthe Most Gracious.
The connection of creation and command with His names, God - the Lord - the Most Gracious.
وَتَأَمَّلْAnd contemplateارْتِبَاطَthe connectionٱلْخَلْقِof creationوَٱلْأَمْرِand the commandبِهَذِهِwith theseٱلْأَسْمَاءِnamesٱلثَّلَاثَةِthree.وَهِيَThey areٱللَّهُGod,وَٱلرَّبُّthe Lord,وَالرَّحْمَانُand the Most Gracious.
And contemplate the connection of creation and command with these three names. They are God, the Lord, and the Most Gracious.
كَيْفَHowنَشَأَaroseعَنْهَاfrom themٱلْخَلْقُcreationوَٱلْأَمْرُand the commandوَٱلثَّوَابُand rewardوَٱلْعِقَابُand punishment;.. وَكَيْفَAnd howجُمِعَتْthey gatheredٱلْخَلْقُcreationوَفَرَّقَتْهُمْand separated them;
How the creation and command, and reward and punishment arose from them. And how they gathered creation and separated them.
فَلَهَاThus, it hasٱلْجَمْعَthe gathering.وَلَهَاAnd it hasٱلْفَرْقَthe separation.
Thus, it has the gathering. And it has the separation.
فَٱسْمُSo the name«ٱلرَّبُّ»'the Lord'.لَهُIt hasٱلْجَمْعَthe gatheringٱلْجَامِعُthat unitesلِكُلِّallٱلْمَخْلُوقَاتِcreatures.فَهُوَSo He isرَبُّthe Lordكُلِّof everyشَيْءٍthing
So the name 'the Lord' has the gathering that unites all creatures. So He is the Lord of every thing.
وَخَالِقُهَاand its creator,وَالْقَادِرُand the all-powerfulعَلَيْهَاover itلَاnothingيَخْرُجُescapesشَيْءٌthingعَنْfromرُبُوبِيَّتِهِHis Lordship.
And its creator, and the all-powerful over it; nothing escapes from His Lordship.
وَكُلُّAnd allمَنْwho is inٱلسَّمَاوَاتِthe heavensوَٱلْأَرْضِand the earthعَبْدٌa servantلَهُto HimفِيinقَبْضَتِهِHis grip,,, وَتَحْتَand underقَهْرِهِHis power.
And all who are in the heavens and the earth are servants to Him in His grip, and under His power.
فَاجْتَمَعُواSo they gatheredبِصِفَةِwith the attributeٱلرُّبُوبِيَّةِof Lordship,وَٱفْتَرَقُواand separatedبِصِفَةِwith the attributeٱلْإِلَٰهِّيَّةِof Divinity,
So they gathered with the attribute of Lordship, and separated with the attribute of Divinity.
فَأَلْهَهُSo He worshiped Himوَحْدَهُaloneٱلسُّعَدَاءُthe happy,,, وَأَقَرُّواand they acknowledgedلَهُfor Himطَوْعاًvoluntarilyبِأَنَّهُthat He isٱللَّهُGodٱلَّذِيwhoلَاnoإِلَٰهَgodإِلَّاexceptهُوَHe.
So they worshiped Him alone, the happy ones, and they voluntarily acknowledged that He is God, who no god exists except Him.
