رَضِيَagreedيُوسُفُJosephأَنْtoيَخْرُجَgo outمِنَfromالسِّجْنِthe prisonهَكَذَاlike this.
Joseph agreed to go out of prison like this.
وَيَقُولُAnd sayالنَّاسُthe people
And the people say,
هَذَاthisسَفِيهٌis foolish.
'This is foolish!
هَذَاThisكَانَwasأَمْسِyesterdayفِيinالسِّجْنِthe prison,
This was yesterday in prison;
إِنَّهُindeed heخَانَbetrayedالْعَزِيزَthe Aziz.
indeed he betrayed the Aziz.'
إِنَّIndeedيُوسُفَJosephكَانَwasكَبِيرَgreatالنَّفْسِof soul,أَبِيًّاproud.
Indeed Joseph was great of soul, proud.
إِنَّIndeedيُوسُفَJosephكَانَwasكَبِيرَgreatالْعَقْلِof mind,ذَكِيًّاintelligent.
Indeed Joseph was great of mind, intelligent.
لَوْIfكَانَwasأَحَدٌsomeoneمَكَانَin the place ofيُوسُفَJosephفِيinالسِّجْنِthe prison
If someone was in Joseph's place in prison
وَجَاءَهُand came to himرَسُولُa messengerالْمَلِكِof the king
and a messenger of the king came to him
وَقَالَand saidلَهُto himرَسُولُthe messengerالْمَلِكِof the king:
and the messenger of the king said to him:
إِنَّIndeedالْمَلِكَthe kingيَدْعُوكَcalls youوَیَنْتَظِرُكَand awaits you,
'Indeed the king calls you and awaits you,'
لَأَسْرَعَhe would have hurriedهَذَاthisالرَّجُلُmanإِلَىtoبَابِthe doorالسِّجْنِof the prisonوَخَرَجَand gone out.
this man would have hurried to the door of the prison and gone out.
وَلَكِنَّButيُوسُفَJosephلَمْdid notيُسْرِعْhurry,
But Joseph did not hurry,
وَلَكِنَّbutيُوسُفَJosephلَمْdid notيَسْتَعْجِلْhasten.
but Joseph did not hasten.
بَلْRatherقَالَhe saidلِرَسُولِto the messengerالْمَلِكِof the king:
Rather he said to the messenger of the king:
أَنَاIأُرِيدُwantالتَّفْتِيشَinvestigation,
'I want investigation,
أَنَاIأُرِيدُwantالْبَحَثَsearchingعَنْaboutقَضِيَّتِيmy case.
I want searching about my case.'
وَسَأَلَAnd askedالْمَلِكُthe kingعَنْaboutيُوسُفَJoseph,
And the king asked about Joseph,
وَعَلِمَand knewالْمَلِكُthe king
and the king knew
وَعَلِمَand knewالنَّاسُthe peopleأَنَّthatيُوسُفَJosephبَرِيءٌis innocent.
and the people knew that Joseph is innocent.
وَخَرَجَAnd went outيُوسُفُJosephبَرِيئًاinnocent
And Joseph went out innocent
وَأَكْرَمَهُand honored himالْمَلِكُthe king.
and the king honored him.
١٦16 - - عَلَىOverخَزَائِنِthe treasuriesالْأَرْضِof the land.
16 - Over the treasuries of the land.
وَكَانَAnd wasيُوسُفُJosephيَعْلَمُknowingأَنَّthatالْأَمَانَةَtrustworthinessقَلِيلَةٌis littleفِيamongالنَّاسِthe people.
And Joseph was knowing that trustworthiness is little among the people.
وَكَانَAnd wasيُوسُفُJosephيَعْلَمُknowingأَنَّthatالْخِيَانَةَbetrayalكَثِيرَةٌis muchفِيamongالنَّاسِthe people.
And Joseph was knowing that betrayal is much among the people.
