عَلَيْهِupon himمُصِيبَتَيْنِtwo calamities،,إِنَّIndeedاللهَAllahلَاnotيَفْجَعُهُgrieves himفِيinابْنَيْنِtwo sons..

Upon him are two calamities, indeed Allah does not grieve him in two sons.

إِنَّIndeedاللهَAllahلَاnotيَفْجَعُهُgrieves himفِيinابْنَيْنِtwo sonsكَيُوسُفَlike Josephوَبِنْيَامِينَand Benjamin...

Indeed Allah does not grieve him in two sons like Joseph and Benjamin.

إِنَّIndeedاللهَAllahفِيinذَلِكَthatيَدَاtwo handsخَفِيَّةٌhidden،,إِنَّIndeedاللهَAllahفِيinذَلِكَthatحِكْمَةٌwisdomمُخَفَّيَةٌhidden...

Indeed Allah in that has hidden hands, indeed Allah in that has hidden wisdom.

إِنَّIndeedاللهَAllahلَمْhas notيَزَلْceasedيَمْتَحِنُtestingعِبَادَهُHis servantsثُمَّthenيُسَرُّهُمْrejoices themوَيُنْعِمُand bestows favorعَلَيْهِمْupon them...

Indeed Allah has not ceased testing His servants, then rejoices them and bestows favor upon them.

ثُمَّThenإِنَّindeedالابْنُthe sonالْكَبِيرُthe elderبَقِيَremainedفِيinمِصْرَEgyptأَيْضًاalsoوَأَبَىand refusedأَنْtoيَرْجِعَreturnإِلَىtoكَنْعَانَCanaan...

Then indeed the elder son remained in Egypt also and refused to return to Canaan.

أَفَيُفْجَعُSo would he be grievedفِيinالثَّالِثِthe thirdأَيْضًاalsoوَقَدْand indeedفُجِعَhe was grievedمِنْfromقَبْلُbeforeفِيinاثْنَيْنِ؟two?إِنَّIndeedهَذَاthisلَاnotيَكُونُhappens...

So would he be grieved in the third also, and indeed he was grieved from before in two? Indeed, this does not happen.

وَهُنَاAnd hereاطْمَأَنَّwas reassuredيَعْقُوبُJacobوَقَالَand saidعَسَىPerhapsاللَّهُAllahأَنْwillيَأْتِيَنِيbring meبِهِمْthemجَمِيعًاallإِنَّهُIndeed Heهُوَisالْعَلِيمُthe All-Knowingالْحَكِيمُthe All-Wise.٢٢22--يَظْهَرُappearsالسِّرُّthe secret.

And here Jacob was reassured and said: "Perhaps Allah will bring them to me all. Indeed He is the All-Knowing, the All-Wise." 22 - The secret appears.

وَلَكِنَّButيَعْقُوبَJacobكَانَwasبَشَرًاa human،,فِيinصَدْرِيmy chestقَلْبُheartبَشَرٍof a human،,لَاnotقِطْعَةُa pieceحَجَرٍof stone...

But Jacob was a human, in my chest is the heart of a human, not a piece of stone.

فَذَكَرَSo he rememberedيُوسُفَJosephوَتَجَدَّدَand renewedحُزْنُهُhis grief،,وَقَالَand saidيَاOأَسَفَىmy sorrowعَلَىonيُوسُفَJoseph.

So he remembered Joseph and his grief renewed, and said: "O my sorrow on Joseph."

وَلَامَهُAnd his sons blamed himأَبْنَاؤُهُhis sonsوَقَالُواand saidإِنَّكَindeed youلَاnotتَزَالُceaseتَذْكُرُrememberingيُوسُفَJosephحَتَّىٰuntilتَهْلِكَyou perish.قَالَSaidيَعْقُوبُJacob﴿(إِنَّمَاOnlyأَشْكُوْI complainبَقِيmy sorrowوَحُزْنِيand my griefإِلَىtoاللهِAllahوَأَعْلَمُand I knowمِنَfromاللهِAllahمَاwhatلَاnotتَعْلَمُونَyou know).)

And his sons blamed him and said: "Indeed you do not cease remembering Joseph until you perish." Said Jacob: "Only I complain of my sorrow and my grief to Allah, and I know from Allah what you do not know."

وَكَانَAnd wasيَعْقُوبُJacobيَعْلَمُknowingأَنَّthatالْيَأْسَdespairكُفْرٌis disbelief،,وَكَانَand wasيَعْقُوبُJacobلَهُto himرَجَاءٌhopeكَبِيرٌgreatفِيin٤٠40

And Jacob was knowing that despair is disbelief, and Jacob had great hope in 40
