وَأَيْنَAnd whereيَذْهَبُgoesمُوسَىMosesالْآنَ؟now?
And where does Moses go now?
وَإِلَىAnd toأَيْنَwhereيَأْوِيdoes he take shelterفِيinاللَّيْلِthe nightوَأَيْنَand whereيَبِيتُ؟does he spend the night?
And to where does he take shelter at night, and where does he spend the night?
إِنَّهُIndeed, heلَاdoes notيَعْرِفُknowأَحَدًاanyoneوَلَاand notيَعْرِفُهُknows himأَحَدٌ!anyone!
Indeed, he does not know anyone, and no one knows him!
فَتَوَلَّىٰSo he turned awayإِلَىٰtowardsالْظِّلِّthe shadeفَقَالَand saidرَبِّMy Lord,إِنِّيindeed Iلِمَاfor whatأَنْزَلْتَYou have sent downإِلَيَّto meمِنْofخَيْرٍgoodفَقِيرٌam in need.
So he turned away towards the shade and said, "My Lord, indeed I, for what You have sent down to me of good, am in need."

وَوَصَلَتِAnd arrivedالْجَارِيَتَانِthe two maidservantsإِلَىtoالْبَيْتِthe houseقَبْلَbeforeالْمِيعَادِ،the appointed time,فَتَعَجَّبَso was astonishedأَبُوهُمَاtheir fatherوَسَأَلَهُمَاand asked themعَنِaboutالسَّبَبِ.the reason.
And the two maidservants arrived at the house before the appointed time, so their father was astonished and asked them about the reason.
وَقَالَAnd he saidلَهُمَا:to them:مَاWhatأَعْجَلَكُمَاhastened youيَاOبُنَيَّتَيَّ،my two daughters,وَكَيْفَand howوَصَلْتُمَاdid you arriveالْيَوْمَtodayقَبْلَbeforeالْمِيعَادِ؟the appointed time?
And he said to them: "What hastened you, O my two daughters, and how did you arrive today before the appointed time?"
قَالَتِSaidالْبِنْتَانِthe two daughtersقَدْindeedقَدَّرَhas decreedاللَّهُAllahلَنَاfor usرَجُلًاa manكَرِيمًاgenerousسَقَىwho wateredلَنَا.for us.
The two daughters said: "Indeed, Allah has decreed for us a generous man who watered for us."
تَعَجَّبَWas astonishedالشَّيْخُthe old manوَعَرَفَand knewأَنَّهُthat heرَجُلٌis a manغَرِيبٌ،stranger,لِأَنَّbecauseأَحَدًاno oneلَمْhad notيَرْحَمْهُنَّshown mercy to themيَوْمًا.ever.
The old man was astonished and knew that he was a stranger, because no one had ever shown mercy to them.
قَالَSaidالشَّيْخُ:the old man:وَأَيْنَAnd whereتَرَكْتُمَاdid you leaveالرَّجُلَ؟the man?
The old man said: "And where did you leave the man?"
قَالَتَا:They said:تَرَكْنَاهُWe left himفِيinمَكَانِهِ،his place,رَجُلٌa manغَرِيبٌstrangerلَيْسَhe does not haveلَهُfor himمَأْوَىٰ!a shelter!
They said: "We left him in his place, a stranger with no shelter!"
قَالَSaidالشَّيْخُ:the old man:مَاHowأَحْسَنْتُمَاwell you have doneيَاOبِنْتِيَ،my daughters,رَجُلٌa manغَرِيبٌstrangerقَدْhas indeedأَحْسَنَdone goodإِلَيْنَاto usوَلَيْسَand he does not haveلَهُfor himمَأْوَىٰa shelterفِيinالْبَلَدِ،the town,فَإِلَىٰso toمَنْwhomيَأْوِيdoes he take shelterفِيinاللَّيْلِ،the night,وَأَيْنَand whereيَبِيتُ؟!does he spend the night?!
The old man said: "How well you have done, my daughters! A stranger has indeed done good to us, and he has no shelter in the town. To whom does he take shelter at night, and where does he spend the night?!"
إِنَّIndeedلَهُfor himعَلَيْنَاupon usحَقَّis the rightالضِّيَافَةِ،of hospitality,وَإِنَّand indeedلَهُfor himعَلَيْنَاupon usحَقَّis the rightالْإِحْسَانِ!of benevolence!
Indeed, for him upon us is the right of hospitality, and indeed, for him upon us is the right of benevolence!
لِتَذْهَبْLet goإِحْدَاكُمَاone of youفَلْتَأْخُذْهُand take himمَعَهَاwith her
Let one of you go and bring him with her.
