تَابَRepentedاللَّهُAllahعَلَيْهِمْupon them
Allah repented upon them.
وَقَالَAnd saidاللَّهُAllahتَعَالَىٰthe Most High﴿(Quranic verse start)إِنَّIndeed,الَّذِينَthose whoاتَّخَذُواtookالْعِجْلَthe calfسَيَنَالُهُمْwill reach themغَضَبٌangerمِّنfromرَّبِّهِمْtheir Lordوَذِلَّةٌand humiliationفِيinالْحَيَوةِthe lifeالدُّنْيَاworldlyوَكَذَلِكَAnd thusنَجْزِيWe recompenseالْمُفْتَرِيْنَthe inventers (of lies).﴾(Quranic verse end)
And Allah the Most High said: 'Indeed, those who took the calf will be reached by anger from their Lord and humiliation in worldly life. And thus do We recompense the inventers (of lies).'

وَكَذَلِكَAnd thusعَبَّادُworshippersالْعِجْلِof the calfإِلَىٰuntilيَوْمِthe dayالْقِيَامَةِof ResurrectionوَكَذَلِكَAnd thusالْمُشْرِكُونَthe polytheistsإِلَىٰuntilيَوْمِthe dayالْقِيَامَةِof Resurrection!!
And thus the worshippers of the calf until the Day of Resurrection, and thus the polytheists until the Day of Resurrection!

١٧17––جُبْنُCowardiceبَنِيof the childrenإِسْرَائِيلَof Israel
17 – Cowardice of the Children of Israel
نَشَأَgrew upبَنُوthe childrenإِسْرَائِيلَof IsraelعَلَىٰuponالْعُبُودِيَّةِservitudeفِيinمِصْرَEgyptوَعَلَىٰand uponالذُّلِّhumiliationوَالْهَوَانِand degradation،,وَشَبَّand grewعَلَيْهِupon itالْأَطْفَالُthe children،,وَشَابَand grew oldعَلَيْهِupon itالشُّبَّانُthe young men،,وَبَرَدَand settledفِيinعُرُوقِهِمُtheir veinsالدَّمُthe blood..
The children of Israel grew up upon servitude in Egypt and upon humiliation and degradation. The children grew up upon it, and the young men grew old upon it, and the blood settled in their veins.
وَأَصْبَحُواAnd they becameلَاnotيَحْلُمُونَdreamingبِسِيَادَةٍof leadershipوَلَاnorيَتَحَدَّثُونَspeakingبِغَزْوٍof conquestوَلَاnorجِهَادٍof jihad...
And they became not dreaming of leadership, nor speaking of conquest nor of jihad.
كَانَused toبَنُوthe childrenإِسْرَائِيلَof Israelيَقْضُونَspendأَيَّامَهُمْtheir daysفِيinالْغُرْبَةِstrangeness/exile،,لَيْسَnotلَهُمْthey haveوَطَنٌa homelandوَلَاnorحُكْمٌa rule...
The children of Israel used to spend their days in strangeness, they have no homeland nor a rule.
فَأَرَادَSo wantedمُوسَىٰMosesبِوَحْيِby revelationاللَّهِof Allahأَنْtoيُدْخِلَهُمُenter themالْأَرْضَthe landالْمُقَدَّسَةَthe holyوَيَسْكُنُواand inhabitفِيهَاin itمُلُوكًاkingsأَحْرَارًاfree...
So Moses, by revelation of Allah, wanted to enter them the holy land and inhabit it as free kings.
وَلَكِنَّButمُوسَىٰMosesكَانَknewيَعْرِفُknewطَبِيعَةَthe natureالْجُبْنِof cowardiceوَالضَّعْفِand weaknessفِيinبَنِيthe childrenإِسْرَائِيلَof Israel...
But Moses knew the nature of cowardice and weakness in the children of Israel.
فَأَرَادَSo he wantedأَنْtoيُشَوِّقَهُمْexcite themوَأَنْand toيُهَوِّنَmake easyعَلَيْهِمُfor themالْأَمْرَthe matter،,لِأَنَّbecauseالْأَرْضَthe landالْمُقَدَّسَةَthe holyقَدِhasاسْتَوْلَىٰtaken overعَلَيْهَاitقَوْمٌa peopleجَبَّارُونَtyrannical،,أُولُوpossessorsقُوَّةٍof strengthوَأُولُوand possessorsبَأْسٍof mightشَدِيدٍsevere...
So he wanted to excite them and to make the matter easy for them, because the holy land has been taken over by a tyrannical people, possessors of strength and possessors of severe might.
