مَعَWithأَنَّthatهَذَاthisقَوْلٌsayingوَسَطٌis a middleبَيْنَbetweenالْقَوْلَيْنِthe two sayingsالسَّابِقَيْنِprevious.

With that, this is a middle saying between the two previous sayings.

إِلَّاExceptأَنَّthatهُنَاكَthere areحَقَائِقٌfactsيُمْكِنُthat canذِكْرُهَاbe mentionedوَهِيَand they areعَلَىasالنَّحْوِfollows:

Except that there are facts that can be mentioned, and they are as follows:

أَوَّلًاFirst:أَنَّthatمِيلَthe inclinationالشَّخْصِof a personإِلَىtoقَوْلٍa sayingمِنَofالْأَقْوَالِthe sayingsلَاnotيَدُلُّindicateعَلَىuponأَنَّهُthat heيَجْزِمُis certainبِهِwith itوَيَقْطَعُand cuts offبِهِwith it,بَلْbutظَنٌّa presumptionلَدَيْهِwith himفَمَالَand he inclinedإِلَيْهِ.towards it.

First: that the inclination of a person to a saying of the sayings does not indicate that he is certain about it and cuts off with it, but it is a presumption with him, so he inclined towards it.

ثَانِيًاSecondly:الْمِيلُThe inclinationنَوْعَانِis of two types:

Secondly: The inclination is of two types:

١1 -مِيلٌAn inclinationنَاشِئٌthat arisesعَنْfromاجْتِهَادٍdiligenceوَنَظَرٍand outlookوَمُوَازَنَةٍand weighingبَيْنَbetweenالأَدِلَّةِthe evidenceالشَّرْعِيَّةِthe legal,فَهَذَاthis oneصَاحِبُهُhis possessorمَأْجُورٌis rewarded,لِكَوْنِهِbecause he isمُجْتَهِدًاan effortful researcher,وَإِنْand ifأَخْطَأَ.he makes a mistake.

1 - An inclination that arises from diligence, outlook, and weighing between the legal evidence, this one is rewarded for being an effortful researcher, even if he makes a mistake.

٢2 -مِيلٌAn inclinationنَاشِئٌthat arisesعَنْfromالْهَوَىdesireوَتَعَصُّبٍand partisanshipوَشَهْوَةِand the passionالنَّفْسِof the soulوَنْفِيٍّand negationلِلْدَّلِيلِof the evidence.فَهَذَاThis oneمِيلٌis an inclinationمَذْمُومٌthat is reprehensibleقَدْhasذَمَّcursedاللَّهُAllahفَاعِلَهُits doer,قَالَHe saidتَعَالَى:the Exalted:{{الَّذِينَThose whoيَتَّبِعُونَfollowالشَّهَوَاتِthe desiresأَنْthatتَمِيلُواyou may inclineمَيْلًاinclinationعَظِيمًا}great.(١)(1)

2 - An inclination that arises from desire, partisanship, the passion of the soul, and negation of the evidence. This inclination is reprehensible, and Allah has cursed its doer. He said, the Exalted: {Those who follow the desires may incline greatly.} (1)

ثَالِثًاThirdly:أَنَّThatشَيْخَSheikhالإِسْلَامِof Islamوَإِنْand ifمَالَhe inclinedإِلَىtoهَذَاthisالْقَوْلِsayingفَهُوَhe isمُسْبَقٌpredecessedإِلَيْهِ،to it,بِقَوْلِby the sayingالشَّيْخِthe SheikhالْأَلُوسِيِّAl-Alusiأَثْنَاءَduringكَلَامِهِhis speechعَنْaboutشَيْخِthe Sheikhالإِسْلَامِof Islamفِيinهَذِهِthisالْمَسْأَلَةِissue"وَلَئِنْ"and ifسَلَّمَhe concedesأَنَّهُthat he--أيanyشَيْخِSheikhالْإِسْلَامِof Islam--مَالَhe inclinedإِلَىtoذَلِكَthatفَقَدْhe hasذَهَبَgoneإِلَيْهِto itبَعْضٌsomeمِنَofالسَّلَفِthe predecessorsوَأَفْرَادٌand individualsمِنَofالْخَلَفِthe successors..."..."

Thirdly: That Sheikh of Islam, and if he inclined to this saying, he has been preceded to it, by the saying of Sheikh Al-Alusi during his speech about Sheikh of Islam in this issue, "and if he concedes that - i.e. Sheikh of Islam - has inclined towards that, then some of the predecessors and individuals of the successors have gone to it...".

وَبِالتَّالِيConsequently,لَاnotيَكُونُhe will beمُبْتَدِعًاan innovatorفِيinذَلِكَthatكَمَاjust asتَقَدَّمَتِhas been indicatedالإِشَارَةُthe reference toهَذَاthis.

Consequently, he will not be an innovator in that, just as has been indicated to this.

رَابِعًاFourth:أَنَّthatابْنَIbnتَيْمِيَّةَTaymiyyahكَتَبَwroteهَذِهِthisالرِّسَالَةَmessageبِنَاءًbasedعَلَىonسُؤَالٍa questionوَجَّهَهُdirected to himمِنْfromتَلْمِيذِهِhis studentابْنِIbnالْقَيِّمِAl-Qayyim,وَذَكَرَand he mentionedلَهُto himفِيinالسُّؤَالِthe questionأَنَّthatهَذِهِthisالْمَسْأَلَةَissueتَشْكُلُis a challengeعَلَيْهِto himكَمَاasفِيinنَصِّthe textالسُّؤَالِ.of the question.

Fourth: That Ibn Taymiyyah wrote this message based on a question directed to him from his student Ibn Al-Qayyim, and he mentioned to him in the question that this issue is a challenge to him as in the text of the question.

إِذًاThen,فَلَاthere is noعَجَبَwonderأَنَّthatالْشَّيْخَthe Sheikhيَسْتَقْصِيَهَاis thorough about itمِنْfromجَمِيعِallجَوَانِبِهَاits aspectsوَيُوَازِنَand weighsبَيْنَbetweenأَدِلَّتِهَا،its evidences,وَعِنْدَand whenذَلِكَthatظَنَّpresumedمِنْofظَنَّthe presumptionأَنَّهُthat heيَقُولُsaysبِفَنَاءِof the annihilationالنَّارِof the Fireأوorيَمِيلُis inclinedإِلَىtoالْقَوْلِthe sayingبِهِ.with it.

Then, there is no wonder that the Sheikh is thorough about it from all its aspects and weighs between its evidences, and when that happens, it is presumed that he says of the annihilation of the Fire or is inclined to the saying with it.
