قَالَHe said(١)وَقَالَAnd saidابْنُIbnمَسْعُودٍMas'ud:""لَيَأْتِيَنَّThere will comeعَلَىuponجَهَنَّمَHellزَمَانٌa timeتَخْفِقُwhen its doors flutterأَبْوَابَهَاits doorsلَيْسَthere is noفِيهَاin itأَحَدٌanyone,وَذَٰلِكَand thatبَعْدَafterمَاwhatيَلْبَثُونَthey lingerفِيهَاin itأَحْقَابًاages.""

He said (1): And Ibn Mas'ud said: "There will come a time upon Hell when its doors flutter and there is no one in it, and that will be after what they linger in it for ages."

وَقَالَAnd saidثُناWe were informedمُحَمَّدٌMuhammadبِنbinحُمَيْدٍHamidالرَّازِيُّal-Razi(٣)،ثُناWe were informedجَرِيرٌJarir,عَنْfromبَيَانٍBayan(٤),عَنْfromالشَّعْبِيِّal-Shabiقَالَsaid:""جَهَنَّمَHellأَسْرَعُis the fastestالدَّارَيْنِof the two abodesعُمُرَانًاin terms of population,وَأَسْرَعُهُمَاand the fastestخَرَابًاin terms of destruction.""

And said, Muhammad bin Hamid al-Razi (3), we were informed by Jarir, from Bayan (4), from al-Shabi, who said: "Hell is the fastest of the two abodes in terms of population, and the fastest in terms of destruction."

وَقَالَAnd saidحَرْبٌHarbالْكَرْمَانِيُّal-Kermani,عَنْfromإِسْحَاقٍIshaqبِنbinرَاهُوَيْهِRahwayh،ثُناWe were informedعُبَيْدٌAbidاللَّهُAllahبِنbinمُعَاذٍMu'adhثُناWe were informedأَبِيmy father,ثُناWe were informedشُعْبَةُShu'bah,عَنْfromأَبِيAbuبَلَجٍBalj,سَمِعَheardعَمْرٍوAmrبِنbinمَيْمُونٍMaimunيُحَدِّثُnarrateعَنْfromعَبْدِAbdاللَّهِAllahبِنbinعَمْرٍوAmrقَالَsaid:""لَيَأْتِيَنَّThere will comeعَلَىuponجَهَنَّمَHellيَوْمٍa dayتُصَفِّقُwhen its doors will slapفِيهِin itأَبْوَابَهَاits doors،لَيْسَthere is noأَحَدٌanyone"",وَذَٰلِكَand thatبَعْدَafterمَاwhatيَلْبَثُونَthey lingerفِيهَاin itأَحْقَابًاages.(٦)،وَذَٰلِكَand thatبَعْدَafterمَاwhatيَلْبَثُونَthey lingerفِيهاin itأَحْقَابًاages.

And said Harb al-Kermani, from Ishaq bin Rahwayh, we were informed by 'Abid Allah bin Mu'adh, we were informed by my father, we were informed by Shu'bah, from Abu Balj, who heard Amr bin Maimun narrating from Abd Allah bin Amr, who said: "There will come a day upon Hell when its doors will slap, and there is no one in it," and that is after what they linger in it for ages.

(3) It came in the margin of the original that what is written is: "Someone discussed in it, Muhammad bin Hamid al-Razi was discussed, and Ibn Jarir al-Tabari frequently relates from him, and from his wording."

وَقَدْAndلَخَّصَsummarizedابْنُIbnحَجَرٍHajarالْعَسْقَلَانِيُّal-Asqalaniحَالَةًthe caseبِقَوْلِهِby saying:حَافِظٌA keeperضَعِيفٌweak"التَّقْرِيب""Al-Taqrib"٢/١٥٦

And Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani summarized the case by saying: "A keeper, weak" (Al-Taqrib 2/156).

(٤)جَاءَIt cameمُقَابِلَةًits counterpartبِهَامِشٍin the marginالْأَصْلُof the originalمَاwhatنَصَّهُis written::""بَيَانٌBayanثِقَةٌis trustworthy،خَرَجَnarratedلَهُfor himفِيinالصَّحِيحَيْنِthe two authentic""

(4) It came in the margin of the original that what is written is: "Bayan is trustworthy; he narrated for him in the two authentic (books)."

(6) This narration was brought up by al-Dhahabi in the Balance of Moderation, in the biography of "Abu Balj al-Azzazi" and al-Dhahabi counted this narration among his calamities, and ruled on it by saying: "And this is strange."
