وَعَنْAnd onأَبِيthe authority of AbuهُرَيْرَةَHurayrah
And on the authority of Abu Hurayrah
رَضِيَmay Allah be pleasedاللَّهُwithعَنْهُhim
may Allah be pleased with him
أَنَّthatالنَّبِيَّthe Prophetصَلَّىmay peaceاللَّهُand blessings of Allahعَلَيْهِbe upon himوَسَلَّمَand grant him peaceقَالَ:said:
that the Prophet, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him, said:
«قَاتَلَ“May Allah destroyاللَّهُAllahالْيَهُودَ؛the Jews;
“May Allah destroy the Jews;
اتَّخَذُواthey have takenقُبُورَthe gravesأَنْبِيَائِهِمْof their prophetsمَسَاجِدَ»as places of worship.”
they have taken the graves of their prophets as places of worship.”
أَخْرَجَاهُBoth of them reported it(١).(1).
Both of them reported it (1).
وَعَنْAnd onابْنِthe authority of IbnعَبَّاسٍAbbas
And on the authority of Ibn Abbas
رَضِيَmay Allah be pleasedاللَّهُwithعَنْهُمَاthem both
may Allah be pleased with them both
أَنَّthatالنَّبِيَّthe Prophetصَلَّىmay peaceاللَّهُand blessings of Allahعَلَيْهِbe upon himوَسَلَّمَand grant him peaceلَمَّاwhenنَزَلَdeath came downبِهِupon himقَالَ:he said:
that when the Prophet, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him, was visited by his final illness, he said:
«لَعَنَ“May Allah curseاللَّهُAllahالْيَهُودَthe Jewsوَالنَّصَارَى؛and the Christians;
“May Allah curse the Jews and the Christians;
اتَّخَذُواthey have takenقُبُورَthe gravesأَنْبِيَائِهِمْof their prophetsمَسَاجِدَ»as places of worship.”
they have taken the graves of their prophets as places of worship.”
أَخْرَجَاهُBoth of them reported itفِيinالصَّحِيحَيْنِthe two Sahihs(٢).(2).
Both of them reported it in the two Sahihs (2).
وَعَنْهُAnd on his authorityأَيْضًاalsoقَالَ:he said:
And on his authority also, he said:
قَالَSaidرَسُولُMessenger ofاللَّهِAllahصَلَّىmay peaceاللَّهُand blessings of Allahعَلَيْهِbe upon himوَسَلَّمَ:and grant him peace:
The Messenger of Allah, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him, said:
«لَعَنَ“May Allah curseاللَّهُAllahزُوَّارَاتِthe frequent female visitors ofالْقُبُورِ،the graves,
“May Allah curse the women who frequently visit the graves,
وَالْمُتَّخِذِينَand those who takeعَلَيْهَاover themالْمَسَاجِدَplaces of worshipوَالسُّرُجَ»and lamps.”
and those who build places of worship over them and place lamps on them.”
رَوَاهُIt was narrated byالْإِمَامُImamأَحْمَدُAhmad(٣)،(3),وَأَبُوand AbuدَاوُدَDawud(٤)،(4),وَالنَّسَائِيُّand An-Nasa'i(٥)،(5),
It was narrated by Imam Ahmad (3), Abu Dawud (4), and An-Nasa'i (5),
