وَAndالْعُلَمَاءِthe scholarsوَandالْمُلُوكِthe kingsوَandالْأُمَرَاءِthe rulers
And the scholars, kings, and rulers
لَهُمْhaveحُقُوقٌ،rights,لَكِنْbutبِحَسَبِهِaccording to thatفِيمَاin whatأَمَرَcommandedاللَّهُAllahوَandرَسُولُهُ.His Messenger.
have rights, but according to what Allah and His Messenger commanded.
وَAndأَمَّاas forالْعِبَادَةُworship,وَandالِاسْتِعَانَةُseeking help,وَandالتَّوَكُّلُreliance,وَandالْإِنَابَةُturning in repentance,وَandالتَّقْوَىpiety,وَandالْخَشْيَةُfear,وَandالدُّعَاءُsupplication,وَandالتَّضَرُّعُhumility,وَandالِاسْتِغَاثَةُseeking rescue,وَandنَحْوُthe likeذَلِكَof that,لِلَّهِit is for Allahوَحْدَهُalone,لَاnoشَرِيكَpartnerلَهُ،He has,
And as for worship, seeking help, reliance, turning in repentance, piety, fear, supplication, humility, seeking rescue, and the like, it is for Allah alone, with no partner.
كَمَاasقَالَHe saidتَعَالَى:Most High:إِيَّاكَYou aloneنَعْبُدُdo we worshipوَandإِيَّاكَYou aloneنَسْتَعِينُdo we ask for help
As He Most High said: "You alone do we worship and You alone do we ask for help"
وَAndقَالَ:He said:وَمَنْAnd whoeverيُطِعِobeysاللَّهَAllahوَandرَسُولَهُHis MessengerوَandيَخْشَfearsاللَّهَAllahوَandيَتَّقْهِis conscious of Him
And He said: "And whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger and fears Allah and is conscious of Him"
فَالطَّاعَةُso obedienceلِلَّهِis to Allahوَandلِرَسُولِهِ،to His Messenger,وَandأَمَّاas forالْخَشْيَةُfearوَandالتَّقْوَىpiety,فَلِلَّهِthen it is for Allahوَحْدَهُ.alone.
so obedience is to Allah and His Messenger, but as for fear and piety, they are for Allah alone.
وَAndقَالَsaidنُوحٌNoahعَلَيْهِupon himالسَّلَامُ:peace:أَنِThatاعْبُدُواworshipاللَّهَAllahوَandاتَّقُوهُfear Himوَandأَطِيعُونِobey me
And Noah, peace be upon him, said: "That you worship Allah, fear Him, and obey me"
وَAndقَالَHe saidتَعَالَى:Most High:إِذْWhenتَسْتَغِيثُونَyou sought rescue ofرَبَّكُمْyour Lordفَاسْتَجَابَand He answeredلَكُمْyou
And He Most High said: "When you sought rescue of your Lord and He answered you"
وَAndقَالَ:He said:فَاعْبُدْهُSo worship Himوَandتَوَكَّلْrelyعَلَيْهِupon Him
And He said: "So worship Him and rely upon Him"
وَAndقَالَ:He said:عَلَيْهِUpon Himتَوَكَّلْتُdo I relyوَandإِلَيْهِto Himأُنِيبُdo I turn
And He said: "Upon Him do I rely and to Him do I turn"
وَAndقَالَ:He said:وَعَلَىAnd uponاللَّهِAllahفَلْيَتَوَكَّلِlet relyالْمُؤْمِنُونَthe believers
And He said: "And upon Allah let the believers rely"
