عِيسَى

Jesus

صَلْباً،

crucified,

Jesus being crucified,

مَعَ

despite

أَنَّ

that

الْوَاقِعَ

the reality

خِلَافُ

is contrary to

ذَلِكَ،

that,

despite the reality being contrary to that,

وَقَدْ

and indeed

شُبِّهَ

it was made to appear

لَهُمْ

to them

وَالْتَبَسَ

and it became confused

عَلَيْهِمُ

for them

الْأَمْرُ،

the matter,

and it was made to appear so to them, and the matter was confused for them,

فَظَنُّوا

so they thought

رَفْعَ

the raising of

عِيسَى

Jesus

- عَلَيْهِ

- upon him

السَّلَامُ -

be peace -

إِلَى

to

السَّمَاءِ

the heaven

قَتْلاً

as a killing

لَهُ

of him

وَصَلْباً،

and a crucifixion,

so they thought the raising of Jesus - peace be upon him - to heaven was a killing and crucifixion of him,

وَتَوَارَثُوا

and they inherited

ذَلِكَ

that

فِيمَا

among

بَيْنَهُمْ

themselves

جِيلاً

generation

بَعْدَ

after

جِيلٍ

generation

حَتَّى

until

كَشَفَ

revealed

الْقُرْآنُ

the Quran

الْكَرِيمُ

the Noble

عَنْ

about

شُبْهَتِهِمْ

their misconception

وَأَزَاحَ

and removed

السِّتَارَ

the curtain

عَنِ

from

الْحَقِيقَةِ

the truth

قَائِلاً:

saying:

and they passed that down among themselves generation after generation until the Noble Quran exposed their misconception and lifted the curtain on the truth, saying:

{وَمَا
{And what
قَتَلُوهُ
they killed him
وَمَا
and what
صَلَبُوهُ
they crucified him
وَلَكِنْ
but
شُبِّهَ
it was made to appear
لَهُمْ}.
to them}.

{And neither did they kill him, nor did they crucify him; but it was made to appear so to them}.

وَمَا

And what

حُكِيَ

was narrated

فِي

in

الْإِنْجِيلِ

the Gospel

عَلَى

upon

لِسَانِ

the tongue of

عِيسَى

Jesus

- عَلَيْهِ

- upon him

السَّلَامُ -

be peace -

مِمَّا

from what

يُشِيرُ

points

إِلَى

to

قَتْلِهِ،

his killing,

And whatever was narrated in the Gospel on the tongue of Jesus - peace be upon him - indicating his killing,

فَإِنَّهُ

then it

لَيْسَ

is not

إِلَّا

except

إِخْبَاراً

a statement

مِنْهُ

from him

بِجَرَاءَةِ

about the audacity of

الْيَهُودِ

the Jews

وَإِجْرَامِهِمْ

and their criminality

وَإِقْدَامِهِمْ

and their boldness

عَلَى

in

قَتْلِهِ،

killing him,

then it is nothing more than a statement from him regarding the audacity of the Jews, their criminality, and their boldness in attempting to kill him,

لَكِنَّ

but

اللَّهَ

God

عَصَمَهُ

protected him

مِنْهُمْ

from them

وَخَلَّصَهُ

and saved him

مِنْ

from

أَيْدِيهِمْ،

their hands,

but God protected him from them and saved him from their hands,

وَمَا

and whatever

جَاءَ

came

فِيهِ

in it

مِنْ

of

كَلامِ

words of

الْحَوَارِيِّينَ

the disciples

بِهَذَا

regarding this

الصَّدَدِ

matter

فَإِنَّهُ

then it

نَاشِئٌ

stems

عَنِ

from

الِاشْتِبَاهِ

confusion

وَالْتِبَاسِ

and ambiguity of

الْأَمْرِ،

the matter,

and whatever words of the disciples came regarding this matter stem from confusion and ambiguity of the matter,

وَلَمْ

and they did not

يَكُنْ

have

لَهُمْ

for them

إِطْلَاعٌ

awareness

عَلَى

of

الرَّفْعِ

the raising

الَّذِي

which

لَمْ

not

تَأْلَفْهُ

did their minds comprehend

عُقُولُهُمْ

their minds

وَلَمْ

and nor

تَسْمَعْهُ

did it reach

مِنْ

from

آذَانِهِمْ.

their ears.

and they had no awareness of the raising which neither their minds were familiar with nor their ears had heard.

ضَلَالُهُمْ

Their straying

فِي

in

حَمْلِ

interpreting

"فَارْقَلِيط"

"Paraclete"

عَلَى

as

عِيسَى

Jesus

- عَلَيْهِ

- upon him

السَّلَامُ -"

be peace -"

Their straying in interpreting "Paraclete" as Jesus - peace be upon him -

وَمِنْ

And from

ضَلَالَاتِهِمْ

their straying

أَيْضاً

also

أَنَّهُمْ

is that they

يَزْعُمُونَ

claim

أَنَّ

that

الْفَارْقَلِيطَ

the Paraclete

الْمَوْعُودَ

promised

بِمَجِيئِهِ

with his coming

وَالْمُبَشَّرَ

and glad-tidings given

بِقُدُومِهِ

of his arrival

فِي

in

الْإِنْجِيلِ،

the Gospel,

And among their deviations also is that they claim that the Paraclete, whose coming was promised and whose arrival was foretold in the Gospel,

هُوَ

is

عِيسَى

Jesus

- عَلَيْهِ

- upon him

السَّلَامُ -

be peace -

نَفْسُهُ

himself

الَّذِي

who

جَاءَ

came

بَعْدَ

after

قَتْلِهِ

his killing

- حَسَبَ

- according to

زَعْمِهِمْ -

their claim -

إِلَى

to

الْحَوَارِيِّينَ،

the disciples,

is Jesus - peace be upon him - himself who came after his killing - according to their claim - to the disciples,

وَأَوْصَاهُمْ

and he instructed them

بِالتَّمَسُّكِ

to hold fast

بِالْإِنْجِيلِ،

to the Gospel,

and he instructed them to hold fast to the Gospel,

وَيَزْعُمُونَ

and they claim

أَنَّ

that

عِيسَى

Jesus

- عَلَيْهِ

- upon him

السَّلَامُ -

be peace -

أَوْصَاهُمْ

instructed them

أَيْضاً

also

بِأَنَّ

that

الْمُدَّعِينَ

those claiming

لِلنُّبُوَّةِ

prophethood

سَيَكْثُرُونَ،

will become many,

and they claim that Jesus - peace be upon him - also instructed them that those falsely claiming prophethood will become numerous,

فَمَنْ

so whoever

ذَكَرَنِي

mentions me

وَسَمَّانِي

and names me

فَاقْبَلُوا

then accept

كَلَامَهُ،

his word,

وَإِلَّا

and otherwise

فَرُدُّوهُ.

reject him.

so whoever mentions me and names me, accept his word, and otherwise reject him.

وَقَدْ

And indeed

بَيَّنَ

clarified

الْقُرْآنُ

the Quran

الْعَظِيمُ

the Magnificent

أَنَّ

that

بِشَارَةَ

the glad tidings of

عِيسَى

Jesus

- عَلَيْهِ

- upon him

السَّلَامُ -

be peace -

And the Magnificent Quran has clarified that the glad tidings of Jesus - peace be upon him -
