وَأَمَّاAnd as forإِسْلَامُthe conversion ofعُمَرَ،Umar,رَضِيَmay Allah be pleasedاللَّهُwithعَنْهُ،him,
And as for the conversion of Umar, may Allah be pleased with him,
فَإِنَّindeedقُرَيْشاًQurayshبَعَثَتْsentبِعُمَرَ،Umar,رَضِيَmay Allah be pleasedاللَّهُwithعَنْهُ،him,
indeed Quraysh sent Umar, may Allah be pleased with him,
لِيَقْتُلَto killالنَّبِيَّ،the Prophet,صَلَّىmay Allah blessاللَّهُHimعَلَيْهِupon himوَسَلَّمَ،and grant him peace,
to kill the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace,
فَخَرَجَso he set outعُمَرُUmarمُتَقَلِّداًgirdingسَيْفَهُhis swordفِيinأَثَرِpursuit ofرَسُولِthe Messengerاللَّهِ،of Allah,صَلَّىmay Allah blessاللَّهُHimعَلَيْهِupon himوَسَلَّمَ،and grant him peace,
so Umar set out girding his sword in pursuit of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace,
وَهُوَwhile heيَوْمَئِذٍon that dayفِيinدَارٍa houseفِيatأَصْلِthe foot ofالصَّفَا،Al-Safa,
while he was on that day in a house at the foot of Al-Safa.
فَلَقِيَهُThen met himنُعَيْمُNu'aymبْنُson ofعَبْدِAbdاللَّهِAllahبْنِson ofأُسَيْدٍUsaydوَقَدْand he hadأَسْلَمَembraced Islam
Then Nu'aym bin Abdullah bin Usayd met him, and he had embraced Islam,
فَقَالَ:and said:يَاOعُمَرُUmar,أَيْنَwhereأَرَاكَdo I see youتُرِيدُ؟intending?
and said: 'O Umar, where do I see you heading?'
قَالَ:He said:أُرِيدُI wantمُحَمَّداًMuhammad,هَذَاthisالَّذِيone whoسَفَّهَdeclared foolishعُقُولَنَاour mindsوَشَتَمَand insultedآلِهَتَنَاour godsوَخَالَفَand opposedجَمَاعَتَنَاour communityلَأَقْتُلَنَّهُ!to kill him!
He said: 'I want Muhammad, this one who has declared our minds foolish, insulted our gods, and opposed our community, to kill him!'
قَالَSaidنُعَيْمٌ:Nu'aym:لَبِئْسَWorseالْمَشْيُis the pathوَاللَّهِby Allahمَشَيْتَyou have walkedيَاOعُمَرُ!Umar!
Nu'aym said: 'What an evil path you have walked by Allah, O Umar!
وَلَقَدْIndeedأَفْرَطْتَyou have gone to extremesوَأَرَدْتَand soughtهَلَكَةَthe destruction ofعَدِيِّAdiبْنِson ofكَعْبٍKa'bبِمُعَادَاتِكَby your enmity towardبَنِيBanūهَاشِمٍ،Hashim,
Indeed, you have gone to extremes and sought the destruction of Adi bin Ka'b by your enmity toward Banū Hashim,
أَوَتَرَىor do you thinkأَنَّكَthat you areآمِنٌsafeمِنْfromأَعْمَامِهِhis unclesوَبَنِيand BanūزُهْرَةَZuhrahوَقَدْwhile you haveقَتَلْتَkilledمُحَمَّداًMuhammadافْتِخَاراً؟boastfully?
or do you think that you are safe from his uncles and Banū Zuhrah when you have killed Muhammad boastfully?
حَتَّىUntilارْتَفَعَتْroseأَصْوَاتُهُمَا.their voices.
Until their voices rose.
فَقَالَSaidلَهُto himعُمَرُ:Umar:وَاللَّهِBy AllahلَأَظُنُّكَI think youقَدْhave indeedصَبَوْتَapostatizedوَلَوْand ifأَعْلَمُI knewذَلِكَthatمِنْكَfrom youلَبَدَأْتُI would startبِكَ.with you.
Umar said to him: 'By Allah, I think you have apostatized, and if I knew that of you, I would start with you.'
فَلَمَّاSo whenرَأَىsawنُعَيْمٌNu'aymأَنَّهُthat heغَيْرُwas notمُنْتَهٍstoppingقَالَ:he said:أَمَاAs forإِنَّindeedأَهْلَكَyour familyقَدْhave indeedأَسْلَمُواembraced Islamوَتَرَكُوكَand left youوَمَاwith whatأَنْتَyouعَلَيْهِ.are upon.
So when Nu'aym saw that he was not stopping, he said: 'Indeed, your family have embraced Islam and left you to what you are upon.'
فَلَمَّاSo whenسَمِعَhe heardذَلِكَthatنَغَرَhe became furiousوَقَالَ:and said:أَيُهُمْ؟Which of them?
So when he heard that, he became furious and said: 'Which of them?'
قَالَ:He said:خَتَنُكَYour brother-in-lawوَابْنُand son ofعَمِّكَyour uncleوَأُخْتُكَ.and your sister.
He said: 'Your brother-in-law, your paternal cousin, and your sister.'
فَانْطَلَقَSo he set offإِلَىtoأُخْتِهِhis sisterوَقَدْwhileكَانَhad beenرَسُولُMessengerاللَّهِ،of Allah,صَلَّىmay Allah blessاللَّهُHimعَلَيْهِupon himوَسَلَّمَ،and grant him peace,
So he set off to his sister, while the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace,
اجْتَمَعَgatheredعَلَيْهِupon himطَائِفَةٌa groupمِنْofذَوِيthose ofالْفَاقَةِpovertyمِنْamongأَصْحَابِهِhis companions
had a group of needy companions gathered around him,
فَقَالَand he had saidلِأُولِيto those ofالسَّعَةِ:wealth:يَاOفُلَانُso-and-soفَلَيْكُنْlet there beعِنْدَكَwith youفُلَانٌ،so-and-so,
and he had said to those of wealth: 'O so-and-so, let so-and-so be with you,'
فَوَافَقَand there happened to be withابْنَson ofعَمِّuncle ofعُمَرَUmarوَخَتَنَهُand his brother-in-lawسَعِيدَSaeedبْنَson ofزَيْدِZaydبْنِson ofعَمْرِوAmrبْنِson ofنُفَيْلٍNufayl
so there happened to be with Umar's paternal cousin and brother-in-law, Saeed bin Zayd bin Amr bin Nufayl,
قَدْwhomدَفَعَentrustedإِلَيْهِto himرَسُولُMessengerاللَّهِ،of Allah,صَلَّىmay Allah blessاللَّهُHimعَلَيْهِupon himوَسَلَّمَ،and grant him peace,خَبَّابَKhabbabبْنَson ofالْأَرَتِّAl-Arattمَوْلَىfreed slave ofأُمِّUmmانْمَارَAnmarحَلِيفَally ofبَنِيBanūزُهْرَةَ،Zuhrah,
whom the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, had entrusted with Khabbab bin Al-Aratt, the freed slave of Umm Anmar, an ally of Banū Zuhrah,
وَقَدْandأُنْزِلَتْwas revealedسُورَةُSurahطَهَ،Ta-Ha,
and Surah Ta-Ha had been revealed.
فَأَقْبَلَSo cameعُمَرُUmarحَتَّىuntilانْتَهَىhe reachedإِلَىthe door ofبَابِdoor ofدَارِhouse ofأُخْتِهِhis sisterلِيَتَعَرَّفَto find out aboutمَاwhatبَلَغَهُ،had reached him,
So Umar came until he reached the door of his sister's house to find out about what had reached him,
فَإِذَاand beholdخَبَّابٌKhabbab wasعِنْدَwithأُخْتِهِhis sisterيَدْرُسُrecitingعَلَيْهَاto herسُورَةَSurahطَهَ،Ta-Ha,وَإِذَاand beholdالشَّمْسُthe sunكُوِّرَتْ،was wrapped up,
and behold, Khabbab was with his sister reciting Surah Ta-Ha to her, and behold, the sun was wrapped up,
فَلَمَّاso whenدَخَلَenteredعُمَرُUmarأَحْذَرَتْهُshe frightened him / hid himأُخْتُهُhis sisterوَعَرَفَتِand recognizedالشَّرَّthe evilفِيinوَجْهِهِhis faceوَخَبَّأَتِand hidالصَّحِيفَةَ،the sheet,
so when Umar entered, his sister concealed him / alarmed him, recognized the evil in his face, and hid the sheet,
وَرَاغَand slipped awayخَبَّابٌKhabbabفَدَخَلَand enteredالْبَيْتَ،the inner room,
and Khabbab slipped away and entered the inner room.
فَقَالَSaidعُمَرُUmarلِأُخْتِهِ:to his sister:مَاWhatهَذِهِis thisالْهَيْنَمَةُ؟muttering?
Umar said to his sister: 'What is this muttering?'
قَالَتْ:She said:حَدِيثٌA conversationنَتَحَدَّثُwe were discussingبِهِitبَيْنَنَا،between us,
She said: 'A conversation we were discussing between ourselves.'
فَحَلَفَSo he sworeأَنْthatلَاnotيَبْرَحَhe would leaveحَتَّىuntilيَتَبَيَّنَhe made clearشَأْنَهَا.its matter.
So he swore that he would not leave until he found out about its matter.
فَقَالَSaidلَهُto himزَوْجُهَا:her husband:إِنَّكَIndeed, youلَاdo notتَسْتَطِيعُhave the power toأَنْtoتَجْمَعَgatherالنَّاسَthe peopleعَلَىuponهَوَاكَyour desireيَاOعَميmy uncleإِنْifكَانَisالْحَقُّthe truthسِوَاهُ.other than it.
Her husband said to him: 'Indeed, you cannot force the people to follow your desire, O my uncle, if the truth lies elsewhere.'
فَبَطَشَSo he pouncedبِهِon himعُمَرُUmarوَوَطِئَهُand beat himوَطْأًa beatingشَدِيداً.severe.
So Umar pounced on him and beat him severely.
فَقَامَتْSo stoodأُخْتُsister ofعُمَرَUmarتَحْجُزُto interposeبَيْنَهُمَاbetween themفَنَفَحَهَاso he struck herبِيَدِهِwith his handفَشَجَّهَا.and wounded her.
Umar's sister stood to interpose between them, so he struck her with his hand and wounded her.
فَلَمَّاSo whenرَأَتِshe sawالدَّمَthe bloodقَالَتْ:she said:هَلْDoتَسْمَعُyou hearيَاOعُمَرُ؟Umar?
So when she saw the blood, she said: 'Do you hear, O Umar?
أَرَأَيْتَHave you consideredكُلَّallشَيْءٍthatبَلَغَكَreached youعَنِّيconcerning meمِمَّاofيُذْكَرُwhat is mentionedمِنْofتَرْكِيmy forsakingآلِهَتَكَyour godsوَكُفْرِيand my disbeliefبِاللَّاتِin Al-Latوَالْعُزَّىand Al-Uzzaفَهُوَthen itحَقٌّis true
Have you considered everything that reached you concerning me, of what is mentioned of my forsaking your gods and my disbelief in Al-Lat and Al-Uzza, then it is true,
وَأَنَاand IأَشْهَدُtestifyأَنْthatلَاnoإِلَهَdeityإِلَّاexceptاللَّهُAllahوَأَنَّand thatمُحَمَّداًMuhammadرَسُولُis the Messenger ofاللَّهِAllah.
and I testify that there is no deity except Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.
فَاتْمُمْSo accomplishأَمْرَكَyour affairوَاقْضِand decreeمَاwhatأَنْتَyouقَاضٍ.are decreeing.
So accomplish your affair and decree what you are decreeing.'
فَلَمَّاSo whenرَأَىsawعُمَرُUmarذَلِكَthatسَقَطَfellفِيinيَدِهِhis hand / he was remorsefulفَقَالَand saidلِأُخْتِهِ:to his sister:
So when Umar saw that, he was remorseful and said to his sister:
أَرَأَيْتِHave you seenمَاwhatكُنْتِyou wereتَدْرُسِينَrecitingآنِفاً؟just now?
'Have you seen what you were reciting just now?
أُعْطِيكِI give youمَوْثِقاًa solemn pledgeلَاnotأَمْحُوهُI will erase itحَتَّىuntilأَرُدَّهُI return itإِلَيْكِto youوَلَاand notأَخُونُكِbetray youفِيهِ.concerning it.
I give you a solemn pledge that I will not erase it until I return it to you and I will not betray you concerning it.'
فَلَمَّاSo whenرَأَتْsawأُخْتُهُhis sisterحِرْصَهُhis eagernessعَلَىforالْكِتَابِthe bookرَجَتْshe hopedأَنْthatيَكُونَit would beذَلِكَthatلِدَعْوَةِfor the prayer / supplication ofرَسُولِMessengerاللَّهِ،of Allah,صَلَّىmay Allah blessاللَّهُHimعَلَيْهِupon himوَسَلَّمَ،and grant him peace,
So when his sister saw his eagerness for the book, she hoped that would be due to the supplication of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace,
فَقَالَتْso she saidلَهُ:to him:إِنَّكَIndeed, youنَجِسٌare impureوَلَاand noneيَمَسُّهُtouches itإِلَّاexceptالْمُطَهَّرُونَ.the purified ones.
so she said to him: 'Indeed, you are impure, and none touches it except the purified ones.'
فَقَامَSo he stoodوَاغْتَسَلَand washed / performed ghuslمِنَfromالْجَنَابَةِmajor ritual impurityوَأَعْطَاهَاand gave herمَوْثِقاً،a pledge,
So he stood and performed ghusl from major ritual impurity and gave her a pledge,
فَاطْمَأَنَّتْso she became reassuredبِهِby himوَدَفَعَتْand handed overإِلَيْهِto himالصَّحِيفَةَ،the sheet,
so she was reassured by him and handed over the sheet to him,
فَقَرَأَand he readطَهَTa-Haحَتَّىuntilبَلَغَ:he reached:إِنَّIndeedالسَّاعَةَthe Hourآتِيَةٌis comingأَكَادُI almostأُخْفِيهَاhide itلِتُجْزَىso that may be recompensedكُلُّeveryنَفْسٍsoulبِمَاfor whatتَسْعَىit strives
and he read Ta-Ha until he reached: "Indeed, the Hour is coming—I almost conceal it—so that every soul may be recompensed for what it strives [for]"
فَلَاSo do notيَصُدَّنَّكَdivert youعَنْهَاfrom itمَنْhe whoلَاdoes notيُؤْمِنُbelieveبِهَاin itوَاتَّبَعَand followsهَوَاهُhis desireفَتَرْدَىand perishes
"and do not let him who does not believe in it and follows his desire divert you from it, lest you perish."
وَقَرَأَ:And he read:إِذَاWhenالشَّمْسُthe sunكُوِّرَتْ،is wrapped up,
And he read: "When the sun is wrapped up,"
حَتَّىuntilانْتَهَىhe reachedإِلَىtoقَوْلِهِ:His statement:عَلِمَتْhas knownنَفْسٌa soulمَاwhatأَحْضَرَتْ،it has brought.
until he reached His statement: "a soul has known what it has brought."
فَأَسْلَمَSo he embraced Islamعِنْدَatذَلِكَthatوَقَالَ:and said:أَشْهَدُI testifyأَنْthatلَاnoإِلَهَdeityإِلَّاexceptاللَّهُAllahوَأَنَّand thatمُحَمَّداًMuhammadرَسُولُis the Messenger ofاللَّهِ،Allah,
So he embraced Islam at that and said: 'I testify that there is no deity except Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah,'
وَخَلَعَand cast offالْأَنْدَادَthe rivals / idolsوَكَفَرَand disbelievedبِاللَّاتِin Al-Latوَالْعُزَّى،and Al-Uzza,
and cast off the rivals and disbelieved in Al-Lat and Al-Uzza.
فَخَرَجَThen came outخَبَّابٌKhabbabوَكَانَand he had beenدَاخِلاًinsideفِيinالْبَيْتِthe houseمُكَبِّراًsaying Allahu Akbarوَقَالَ:and said:
Then Khabbab—who had been inside the house—came out proclaiming Allahu Akbar and said:
ابْشِرْRejoice inبِكَرَامَةِthe honor ofاللَّهِAllahيَاOعُمَرُUmar,فَإِنَّfor indeedرَسُولَMessengerاللَّهِ،of Allah,صَلَّىmay Allah blessاللَّهُHimعَلَيْهِupon himوَسَلَّمَ،and grant him peace,دَعَاprayedأَنْthatيُعِزَّmight honorاللَّهُAllahبِكَthrough youالْإِسْلَامَ.Islam.
'Rejoice in the honor of Allah, O Umar, for indeed the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, prayed that Allah might honor Islam through you.'
فَقَالَSaidعُمَرُ:Umar:دُلُّونِيGuide meعَلَىtoالْمَنْزِلِthe houseالَّذِيwhichفِيهِin it isرَسُولُMessengerاللَّهِ،of Allah,صَلَّىmay Allah blessاللَّهُHimعَلَيْهِupon himوَسَلَّمَ.and grant him peace.
Umar said: 'Guide me to the house in which the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, is.'
فَقَالَSaidلَهُto himخَبَّابٌ:Khabbab:هُوَHeفِيis inالدَّارِthe houseالَّتِيwhichفِيis atأَصْلِthe foot ofالصَّفَا.Al-Safa.
Khabbab said to him: 'He is in the house at the foot of Al-Safa.'
فَأَقْبَلَSo set outعُمَرُUmarوَقَدْwhileبَلَغَhad reachedرَسُولَMessengerاللَّهِ،of Allah,صَلَّىmay Allah blessاللَّهُHimعَلَيْهِupon himوَسَلَّمَ،and grant him peace,أَنَّthatعُمَرَUmarيَطْلُبُهُwas seeking himلِيَقْتُلَهُto kill himوَلَمْand had notيَبْلُغْهُreached himإِسْلَامُهُ،his conversion,
So Umar set out, while it had reached the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, that Umar was seeking him to kill him, and his conversion had not yet reached him.
فَلَمَّاSo whenانْتَهَىreachedعُمَرُUmarإِلَىtheالْبَابِdoorلِيَسْتَفْتِحَto ask for entry / openرَآهُsaw himرَسُولُMessengerاللَّهِ،of Allah,صَلَّىmay Allah blessاللَّهُHimعَلَيْهِupon himوَسَلَّمَ،and grant him peace,مُتَقَلِّداًgirdingسَيْفَهُhis swordفَأَشْفَقُواso they felt apprehensiveمِنْهُ،of him,
So when Umar reached the door to ask for entry, the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, saw him girding his sword, so they felt apprehensive of him.
فَلَمَّاSo whenرَآهُsaw himحَمْزَةُHamzahوَحْدَهُaloneقَالَ:he said:افْتَحُواOpenفَإِنْfor ifكَانَisاللَّهُAllahيُرِيدُintendingبِعُمَرَfor Umarخَيْراًgoodاتَّبَعَhe will followرَسُولَMessengerاللَّهِ،of Allah,صَلَّىmay Allah blessاللَّهُHimعَلَيْهِupon himوَسَلَّمَ،and grant him peace,وَصَدَّقَهُ،and believe him,
When Hamzah saw him alone, he said: 'Open [the door]; for if Allah intends good for Umar, he will follow the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and believe him,
وَإِنْand ifكَانَit isغَيْرَother thanذَلِكَthatقَتَلْنَاهُwe will kill himبِسَيْفِهِwith his swordوَيَكُونُand it will beقَتْلُهُhis killingعَلَيْنَاupon usهَيِّناً.easy.
and if it is other than that, we will kill him with his sword, and his killing will be easy for us.'
فَابْتَدَرَهُSo hastened toward himرِجَالٌmenمِنْfromأَصْحَابِcompanions ofرَسُولِMessengerاللَّهِ،of Allah,صَلَّىmay Allah blessاللَّهُHimعَلَيْهِupon himوَسَلَّمَ،and grant him peace,
Men from the companions of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, hastened toward him,
وَرَسُولُwhile the Messengerاللَّهِ،of Allah,صَلَّىmay Allah blessاللَّهُHimعَلَيْهِupon himوَسَلَّمَ،and grant him peace,يُوحَىwas being inspiredإِلَيْهِ،to him,
while revelation was being sent to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace,
فَسَمِعَso he heardصَوْتَthe voice ofعُمَرَUmarفَخَرَجَand he came outلَيْسَnot havingعَلَيْهِupon himرِدَاءٌa cloakحَتَّىuntilأَخَذَhe took holdبِمَجْمَعِof the folds ofرِدَاءِcloak ofعُمَرَUmarوَقَمِيصِهِand his shirtوَقَالَand saidلَهُ:to him:
so he heard the voice of Umar and came out without a cloak on him, until he took hold of the folds of Umar's cloak and his shirt and said to him:
أَمَاAre you notوَاللَّهِby Allahمَاgoing toأَرَاكَI see youتَنْتَهِيstopيَاOعُمَرُUmarحَتَّىuntilيُنْزِلَbrings downاللَّهُAllahجَلَّMajesticوَعَزَّand Exaltedبِكَupon youمِنَofالزَّجْرِthe reprimandمَاwhatأَنْزَلَهُHe sent downبِالْوَلِيدِupon Al-Walidبْنِson ofالْمُغِيرَةِ.Al-Mughirah.
'By Allah, I do not see you stopping, O Umar, until Allah, Majestic and Exalted, brings down upon you of the reprimand what He sent down upon Al-Walid bin Al-Mughirah.'
ثُمَّThenقَالَ:he said:اللَّهُمَّO Allahاهْدِguideعُمَرَ.Umar.
Then he said: 'O Allah, guide Umar.'
فَضَحِكَSo smiledعُمَرُUmarوَقَالَ:and said:يَاOرَسُولَMessengerاللَّهِof AllahأَشْهَدُI testifyأَنْthatلَاnoإِلَهَdeityإِلَّاexceptاللَّهُAllahوَحْدَهُaloneلَاnoشَرِيكَpartnerلَهُfor Himوَأَنَّكَand that youمُحَمَّدٌare MuhammadعَبْدُهُHis servantوَرَسُولُهُand His messenger.
So Umar smiled and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I testify that there is no deity except Allah alone, with no partner, and that you are Muhammad, His servant and His messenger.'
فَكَبَّرَSo proclaimed Allahu Akbarأَهْلُthe people ofالدَّارِthe houseتَكْبِيرَةًa proclamationسَمِعَهَاheard itمَنْwho wasوَرَاءَbehindالدَّارِthe houseوَالْمُسْلِمُونَand the Muslimsيَوْمَئِذٍon that dayبِضْعَةٌa few / severalوَأَرْبَعُونَand fortyرَجُلاًmenوَإِحْدَىand elevenعَشْرَةَtenامْرَأَةً،women.
So the people of the house proclaimed Allahu Akbar with a proclamation heard by whoever was behind the house, and the Muslims on that day were forty-odd men and eleven women.
ثُمَّThenقَالَsaidعُمَرُ:Umar:يَاOرَسُولَMessengerاللَّهِof Allahنَحْنُweبِالْإِسْلَامِto Islamأَحَقُّmore deserving / entitledأَنْthatنُبَادَىwe be fought / opposedمِنَّاthan usبِالْكُفْرِby disbeliefفَلِيُظْهِرَنَّso let there definitely appearدِينُreligion ofاللَّهِAllahعَزَّMajesticوَجَلَّand Exaltedبِمَكَّةَ.in Makkah.
Then Umar said: 'O Messenger of Allah, are we not more entitled to manifest Islam than that we be opposed by disbelief? So let the religion of Allah, Majestic and Exalted, be made manifest in Makkah.'
فَخَرَجَSo went outعُمَرُUmarوَجَلَسَand satفِيinالْمَسْجِدِthe mosqueوَصَلَّىand prayedعَلَانِيَةًopenlyوَأَظْهَرَand manifestedالْإِسْلَامَ،Islam,
So Umar went out and sat in the mosque and prayed openly and manifested Islam,
فَلَمْand notيَزَلِceasedالدِّينُthe religionعَزِيزاًmightyمُنْذُsinceأَسْلَمَembraced Islamعُمَرُ،Umar,رَضِيَmay Allah be pleasedاللَّهُwithعَنْهُ.him.
and the religion remained mighty since Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, embraced Islam.
