وَفِيهاAnd in itمِنَofالْفَوَائِدِthe benefitsالْمَسْلَكِيَّةِof the pathأَنْthatالإِيمَانِfaithبِذَٰلِكَin thatيَزِيدُincreasesالْمَرْءَa personخَوْفًاfearمِنَofٱللَّهِAllahوَخَشْيَةًand reverenceسِرًّاin secretوَعَلَنًاand publicly
And in it, there are benefits of a spiritual nature, that faith in this increases a person's fear of God and reverence; in secret and publicly.
وَقَوْلُهُAnd His sayingيَعْلَمُHe knowsمَاwhatيَلِجُentersفِيintoالأَرْضِthe earthوَمَاand whatيَخْرُجُcomes outمِنْهَاfrom itوَمَاand whatيَنزِلُdescendsمِنَfromالسَّمَاءِthe heavenوَمَاand whatيَعْرُجُascendsفِيهَاin it
And His saying: 'He knows what enters into the earth and what comes out of it and what descends from the heavens and what ascends in it.'
وَعِندَهُAnd with Himمَفَاتِحُare the keysالْغَيْبِof the unseenلَاnotيَعْلَمُهَاknows themإِلَّاexceptهُوَHeوَيَعْلَمُand knowsمَاwhatفِيinالْبَرِّthe landوَالْبَحْرِand the seaوَمَاand whatتَسْقُطُfallsمِنْfromوَرَقَةٍa leafإِلَّاexceptيَعْلَمُهَاHe knows itوَلَاand notحَبَّةٍa grainفِيinظُلُمَاتِthe darkness ofالأَرْضِthe earthوَلَاand notرَطْبٍwet (thing)وَلَاand notيَابِسٍdry (thing)إِلَّاexceptفِيinكِتَابٍrecordsمُّبِينٍclear
And with Him are the keys of the unseen; none knows them except Him. He knows what is in the land and the sea, and not a leaf falls but He knows it, nor a grain in the darkness of the earth, nor anything wet or dry except in clear records.
وَمَاAnd whatتَحْمِلُcarriesمِنْfromأُنْثَىfemaleوَلَاand notتَضَعُgives birthإِلَّاexceptبِعِلْمِهِby His knowledge
And what carries a female and what gives birth except by His knowledge.
وَقَوْلُهُAnd His sayingلِتَعْلَمُواSo that you may knowأَنَّthatٱللَّهَAllahعَلَىis overكُلِّallشَيْءٍthingقَدِيرٌcapableوَأَنَّand thatٱللَّهَAllahقَدْhasأَحَاطَsurroundedبِكُلِّallشَيْءٍthingعِلْمًاwith knowledge
And His saying: 'So that you may know that Allah is capable of all things and that Allah has encompassed all things with knowledge.'
الشَّرْحُExplanationهَذِهِTheseالْآيَاتُversesفِيinتَفْصِيلٍdetailصِفَةٍattributeالْعِلْمِof knowledgeالْآيَةُThe verseالأُولَىfirstقَوْلُهُHis sayingيَعْلَمُHe knowsمَاwhatيَلِجُentersفِيintoالأَرْضِthe earthوَمَاand whatيَخْرُجُcomes outمِنْهَاfrom itوَمَاand whatيَنزِلُdescendsمِنَfromالسَّمَاءِthe heavensوَمَاand whatيَعْرُجُascendsفِيهَاin it
Explanation: These verses detail the attribute of knowledge: the first verse is: 'He knows what enters into the earth and what comes out of it and what descends from the heavens and what ascends in it.'
