And what ascends in it; like good deeds, angels, souls, and supplication.
وَهُنَاAnd hereقَالَ:said:﴿[وَمَاAnd whatيَعْرُجُascendsفِيهَاin it؛فَعَدَّىand he took the verbالْفِعْلَthe actionبِـwith(فِي)،(in),وَفِيAnd inسُورَةِSurahالْمَعَارِجِAl-Ma'arijقَالَsaid:﴿[تَعْرُجُascendالْمَلَائِكَةُthe angelوَالرُّوحُand the spiritإِلَيْهِto Him﴾]
And here he said: ﴿ And what ascends in it; he took the action with (in), And in Surah Al-Ma'arij he said: ﴿ The angel and the spirit ascend to Him ﴾ [Al-Ma'arij: 4];
فَعَدَّاهُSo he took itبِـwith(إِلَى)،(to),وَهَذَاAnd thisهُوَisالأَصْلُthe original;؛فَمَاSo whatوَجْهُis the reasonكَوْنِهِfor it beingعَدَّىtakenبِـwith(فِي)(in)فِيinقَوْلِهِhis saying:وَيَعْرُجُAnd ascendsفِيهَا ؟in it?فَالْجَوَابُThe answer:اُخْتَلَفَis differentنُحَاةٌthe grammariansالْبَصْرَةِof Basraوَكُوفَةٍand Kufaفِيinمِثْلِsuch asهَذَا،this,فَقَالَso they saidنُحَاةٌthe grammariansالْبَصْرَةِof Basra:إِنَّIfالْفِعْلَthe actionيُضَمِّنُis containedمَعْنًىmeaningيَتَلَائَمُthat is suitableمَعَwithالحَرْفِ.the letter.
The answer: The grammarians of Basra and Kufa disagree in such matters, the grammarians of Basra said: that the action is contained with a meaning that is suitable with the letter.
وَقَالَAnd the grammarians of Kufa said:نُحَاةٌthe grammariansالْكُوفَةِof Kufa:بَلْButالْحَرْفُthe letterيُضَمِّنُis containedمَعْنًىmeaningيَتَلَائَمُthat is suitableمَعَwithالْفِعْلِ.the action.
And the grammarians of Kufa said: But the letter contains a meaning that is suitable with the action.
فَعَلَىSo according toالرَّأْيِthe opinionالأَوَّلِthe first؛يَكُونُit would beقَوْلُهُ:his saying:﴿[يَعْرُجُascendsفِيهَاin it;:مُضَمًّناcontainedمَعْنًىmeaning(يَدْخُلُ)،(enters),فَيَصِيرُit becomesالمَعْنَىthe meaningوَمَاand whatيَعْرُجُascendsفِيinيَدْخُلُentersفِيهَاin itوَعَلَيْهِ؛and thus;يَكُونُit isفِيinالْآيَةِthe verseدَلَالَةًindicationعَلَىofأَمْرَيْنِ:two matters:عَلَىonعُرُوجٍascensionوَدُخولٍ.and entering.
So according to the first opinion: his saying: ﴿ ascends in it: contained with a meaning (enters), thus the meaning becomes and what ascends enters it; and thus, it would be in the verse an indication of two matters: an ascension and an entering.
أَمَّاAs forعَلَىonالرَّأْيِthe opinionالثَّانِي؛the second;فَنَقُولُ:then we say:(فِي)(in)بِمَعْنَىin the meaning of(إِلَى)،(to),وَيَكُونُand it isهَذَاthisمِنْofبَابِthe categoryالتَّنَاوُبِthe alternationبَيْنَbetweenالْحُرُوفِ.the letters.
As for the second opinion; then we say: (in) in the meaning of (to), and this is from the category of the alternation between the letters.
لَكِنَّButعَلَىonهَذَاthisالْقَوْلِsayingلَاnotتَجِدُyou findأَنَّthatفِيinالْآيَةِthe verseمَعْنًىmeaningجَدِيدًا،new,وَلَيْسَand it is notفِيهَاin itإِلَّاexceptاختلافthe differenceلَفْظٍin wording(إِلَى)(to)إِلَىtoلَفْظٍthe wording(فِي)(in)وَلِهَذَاAnd for this reasonكَانَwasالْقَوْلُthe sayingالأَوَّلُthe first,أَصَحَّ،is correct,وَهُوَand it isأَنَّthatنُضَمِّنَwe containالْفِعْلَthe actionمَعْنًىmeaningيَتَنَاسَبُmatchingمَعَwithالْحَرْفِ.the letter.
But in this opinion you do not find that in the verse a new meaning, and it is not in it except the difference of the wording (to) to the wording (in), and for this reason the first saying is correct, and it is that we contain the action meaning that matches the letter.
وَلِهَذَاAnd for this reasonنَظِيرٌthere is a similarفِيinاللُّغَةِthe languageالْعَرَبِيَّةِ؛Arabic;قَالَGod said:اللَّـهُGodتَعَالَى:the Most High:﴿[عَيْنًاA springيَشْرَبُdrinksمِنْهَا؛from it;عِبَادُthe servantsاللَّـهِof Allah ﷻ﴾][الْإِنْسَانِ[Al-Insan،٦], 6]
And for this reason there is a similar in the Arabic language; God said: ﴿ A spring drinks from it; the servants of Allah ﷻ ﴾ [Al-Insan: 6]
