The Prophet (peace be upon him) was from twelve thousand except for about a hundred men.
هَذَاthisأَيْضًاalsoفَقَدْhasلِلْعِزَّةِfor dignity،,لَكِنَّهُbut heمُؤَقَّتٌtemporary۔.
This also has dignity, but it is temporary.
أَمَّاAs forعِزَّةُthe dignityاللَّهِof Godعَزَّ وَجَلَّthe Majestic and Exalted؛;فَلَاit cannotيُمْكِنُbeأَبَدًاeverأَنْthatتَفْقِدَlose。.
As for the dignity of God, the Majestic and Exalted, it can never be lost.
وَبِهَذَاAnd thusعَرَفْنَاwe knowأَنَّthatالْعِزَّةَthe dignityالَّتِيwhichأُثْبِتَهَاHe establishedاللَّهُGodلِرَسُولِهِfor his messengerوَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَand for the believersلَيْسَتْis notكَالعِزَّةِlike the dignityالَّتِيwhichأُثْبِتَهَاHe establishedلِنَفْسِهِfor Himself۔.
And thus we know that the dignity which God has established for His Messenger and for the believers is not like the dignity He established for Himself.
وَهَذَاAnd thisأَيْضًاalsoيُمْكِنُcanأَنْtoيُؤْخَذَbe takenمِنَfromالْقَاعِدَةِthe ruleالْعَامَّةِgeneral،,أَنَّهُthatلَاnotيَلْزَمُit is necessaryمِنْfromاتِّفَاقِthe agreementالْإِسْمَيْنِthe two namesأَنْthatيَتَمَاثَلَbe identicalالْمُسَمَّيَانِthe named،,وَلَاnorمِنْfromاتِّفَاقِthe agreementالصِّفَتَيْنِthe two attributesأَنْthatيَتَمَاثَلَbe identicalالمَّوصُوفَانِthe described۔.
And this can also be taken from the general rule, that it is not necessary that the agreement of the two names be identical, nor from the agreement of the two attributes that the described be identical.
ٱلْآيَةُThe verseالرَّابِعَةُthe fourthفِيinالْعِزَّةِthe dignityأَيْضًاalso،,وَهِيَand it isقَوْلُهُHis sayingعَنْaboutإِبْلِيسَIblis::فَبِعِزَّتِكَSo by Your mightلَأُغْوِيَنَّهُمْI will surely lead them astrayأَجْمَعِينَall together﴾(صَS::٨٢82﴿﴾۔.
The fourth verse regarding dignity is His saying about Iblis: "So by Your might, I will surely lead them astray all together" (S: 82).
ٱلْبَاءُThe letter 'Ba'هُنَاhereلِلْقَسَمِis for swearing،,لَكِنَّهُbutاخْتَارَchoseالْقَسَمَthe oathبِالْعِزَّةِby dignityدُونَwithoutغَيْرِهَاother than itمِنَofالصِّفَاتِthe attributes؛;لِأَنَّbecauseالْمَقَامَthe situationمَقَامٌplaceمُغَالَبَةٌof struggleفَكَأَنَّهُso it is as ifقَالَhe said::بِعِزَّتِكَBy Your dignityالَّتِيthatتَغْلِبُovercomesبِهَاwithمِنْfromسِوَاكَothersلَأُغْوِيَنَّI will lead astrayهَـٰؤُلَاءِtheseوَأَسَيْطِرُand I will dominateعَلَيْهِمْover themـ-يَعْنِيmeaning::بَنِيthe childrenآدَمَof Adamـ-حَتَّىuntilيَخْرُجُواthey go outمِنَfromالرَّشَدِguidanceإِلَىtoالضَّلَالِmisguidance۔.
The letter 'Ba' here is for swearing, but he chose the oath by dignity over other attributes; because the situation is one of struggle, so it is as if he said: By Your dignity that overcomes others, I will lead these astray and dominate over them — meaning: the children of Adam — until they go from guidance to misguidance.
وَيُسْتَثْنَىAnd it is exceptedمِنْfromهَذَاthisعِبَادُthe servantsاللَّهِof Godالمُخْلَصُونَthe sincere؛;فَإِنَّfor indeedإِبْلِيسَIblisلَاdoes notيَسْتَطِيعُis able toأَنْtoيُغَوِّيهِمlead them astray؛;كَمَاasقَالَHe saidتَعَالَىthe Exalted said::﴿﴿إِنَّIndeedعِبَادِيMy servantsلَيْسَnotلَكَto youعَلَيْهِمْover themسُلْطَانُauthority))[[الْحِجْرِAl-Hijr::٤٢42]]
And it is excepted from this the servants of God, the sincere; for indeed, Iblis does not have authority over them; as the Exalted said: "Indeed, My servants, you have no authority over them" (Al-Hijr: 42).
فَفِيSo inهَاتَيْنِthese twoالْآيَتَيْنِversesإِثْبَاتٌproofالعِزَّةِof dignityلِلَّهِfor God۔.
So in these two verses, there is a proof of the dignity of God.
