غَافِلٌheedlessلَاهٍneglect
Heedless and negligent.
فَـهَذَاThisدَوَاءٌmedicineنَافِعٌbeneficialمُزِيلٌremoverلِلْـدَّاءِof the diseaseوَلَـكِنbutغَفْلَةٌheedlessnessالْقَلْبِof the heartعَنْaboutاللَّهِAllahتُبْطِلُnullifiesقُوَّتَهَاits strength.
This is a beneficial medicine that removes the disease, but the heedlessness of the heart about Allah nullifies its strength.
وَكَذَٰلِكَAnd likewiseأَكْلُeatingالْحَرَامِthe unlawfulيُبْطِلُnullifiesقُوَّتَهُits strengthوَيُضْعِفُهَاand weakens it.كَمَاAsفِيinصَحِيحٍSahihمُسْلِمٍMuslim
And likewise, eating the unlawful nullifies its strength and weakens it, as in Sahih Muslim.
مِنْFromحَدِيثِthe narrationأَبِيof AbuهُرَيْرَةَHurairaقَالَsaidقَالَthe ProphetرَسُولِMessengerاللَّهِof AllahﷺيَاO people,النَّاسُpeople,إِنَّIndeed,اللَّهَAllahطَيِّبٌis Pureلَاand does notيَقْبَلُacceptإِلَّاexceptطَيِّبًاwhat is pure.
From the narration of Abu Huraira, he said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "O people, indeed Allah is Pure and He does not accept except what is pure."
وَإِنَّAnd indeedاللَّهَAllahأَمَرَcommandedالْمُؤْمِنِينَthe believersبِمَاwith whatأَمَرَHe commandedبِهِtheالْمُرْسَلِينَmessengers.فَقَالَHe said:
And indeed, Allah commanded the believers with what He commanded the messengers. He said:
يَأَيُّهَاOالرُّسُلُmessengersكُلُواeatمِنَfromالطَّيِّبَاتِthe pure thingsوَاعْمَلُواand doصَالِحًاrighteous deedsإِنِّيIndeed, Iبِمَاwith whatتَعْمَلُونَyou doعَلِيمٌam All-Knowing.
O messengers, eat from what is pure and do righteous deeds; indeed, I am All-Knowing of what you do.
وَقَالَAnd He said:يَاOالَّذِينَthose whoءَامَنُواbelievedكُلُواeatمِنْfromطَيِّبَاتِthe pure, good thingsمَاthat whichرَزَقْنَاكُمْWe have provided for you.
And He said: O those who have believed, eat from the pure and good things We have provided for you.
ثُمَّThenذَكَرَhe mentionedالرَّجُلَthe manيُطِيلُwho prolongsالسَّفَرَthe journeyأَشْعَثَdisheveledأَغْبَرَdustyيَمُدُّraisingيَدَيْهِhis handsإِلَىtoالسَّمَاءِthe sky:يَاOرَبِّLordيَاOرَبِّLordوَمَطْعَمُهُand his foodحَرَامٌis unlawful,,وَمَشْرَبُهُand his drinkحَرَامٌis unlawful,,وَمَلَابِسُهُand his clothingحَرَامٌis unlawful,,وَغُذِيَand he was nourishedبِالْحَرَامِwith unlawful food.فَأَنَّىSo howيُسْتَجَابُwill it be answeredلِذَٰلِكَfor that!
Then he mentioned the man who prolongs the journey, disheveled and dusty, raising his hands to the sky: 'O Lord, O Lord,' while his food is unlawful, and his drink is unlawful, and his clothing is unlawful, and he was nourished with unlawful food. So how will it be answered for that!
أَخْرَجَهُNarratedالْحَاكِمُby Al-HakimفِيinالْمُسْتَدْرَكِAl-Mustadrak٦٧٠/١, 670/1--٦٧١, 671(۱۸۱۷)(1817)وَالتِّرْمِذِيُّand Al-Tirmidhi(٣٤٧٩)(3479)وَابْنُand IbnحِبَّانَHubanفِيinالْمَجْرُوحِينَAl-Majroohin((٣٦٨/١)(368/1)وَابْنُand IbnعَدِيٍّAdiفِيinالْكَامِلِAl-Kamil(٦٢/٤(62/4)وَغَيْرِهِمْand others,مِنْfromطَرِيقِthe chain of narrationصَالِحٍSalehالْمَرِّيِّAl-MariعَنْaboutهِشَامٍHishamبْنِbinحَسَّانَHassanعَنaboutمُحَمَّدٍMuhammadبْنِbinسِيرِينَSirrinعَنْaboutأَبِيAbuهُرَيْرَةَHurairaفَذَكَرَهُthen he mentioned it.
Narrated by Al-Hakim in Al-Mustadrak 670/1-671 (1817), and Al-Tirmidhi (3479), and Ibn Huban in Al-Majroohin (368/1), and Ibn Adi in Al-Kamil (62/4) and others, from the narration of Saleh Al-Mari from Hisham bin Hassan from Muhammad bin Sirrin from Abu Huraira, then he mentioned it.
قَالَHe saidالْحَاكِمُAl-Hakimهَذَاthisحَدِيثٌhadithمُسْتَقِيمٌis straightالإِسْنَادُthe chain of narrationتَفَرَّدَis uniqueبِهِwith itصَالِحٌSalehالْمَرِّيُّAl-Mari,,وَهُوَand he isأَحَدٌone ofزُهَّادِthe asceticsالْبَصْرَةِof Basraوَلَمand did notيُخْرِجَاهthey narrate it.
Al-Hakim said: 'This hadith has a straight chain of narration and is unique to Saleh Al-Mari, who is one of the ascetics of Basra, and they did not narrate it.
وَتَعَقَّبَهُAnd he was followedالذَّهَبِيُّby Al-Dhahabiبِقَوْلِهِwith his statement:صَالِحٌSalehمَتْرُوكٌis abandoned.
And he was followed by Al-Dhahabi with his statement: 'Saleh is abandoned.'
وَالْحَدِيثُAnd the hadithضَعَّفَهُwas weakenedالتِّرْمِذِيُّby Al-Tirmidhi,,وَعَدَّهُand he counted itابْنُby IbnعَدِيٍّAdiوَابْنُand IbnحِبَّانَHubanمِنْfromمُنْكَرَاتِthe rejected narrationsصَالِحٍof SalehالْمَرِّيِّAl-Mari.
And the hadith was weakened by Al-Tirmidhi, and Ibn Adi and Ibn Huban counted it among the rejected narrations of Saleh Al-Mari.
وَوَرَدَAnd it was narratedمِنْbyحَدِيثِthe narrationعَبْدِاللَّهِof AbdullahبْنِbinعَمْرٍوAmrعِندَwithأَحْمَدَAhmadفِيinالْمُسْنَدِthe Musnad١٧٧/٢177/2(٦٦٥٥)(6655)لَكِنَّهُbut it isمِنْfromطَرِيقِthe chain of narrationحَسَنِHassanبْنِbinمُوسَىMusaعَنْaboutابْنِIbnلَهِيَعَةَLahi'aقَالَsaidابْنُIbnالْمَدِينِيُّAl-Madini:الْحَسَنُHassanبْنِbinمُوسَىMusaإِنَّمَاonlyسَمِعَheardمِنْfromابْنِIbnلَهِيَعَةَLahi'aبِآخِرَةٍat the end.
And it was narrated by Abdullah bin Amr with Ahmad in the Musnad 177/2 (6655), but it is from the narration of Hassan bin Musa about Ibn Lahi'a. Ibn Al-Madini said: 'Hassan bin Musa only heard from Ibn Lahi'a at the end.'
وَحَسَّنَهُAnd it was made goodالْمُنْذِرِيُّby Al-Mundziriوَالْهَيْثَمِيُّand Al-HaythamiانْظُرْSeeالْتَّرْغِيبَAl-Targhibوَالْتَّرْهِيبَand Al-Tarhib(٤٩١/٢(491/2--٤٩٢)492)وَمَجْمَعَand the Majma'aالزَّوَائِدِof Al-Zawa'id(١٤٨/١٠)(148/10)وَالْمُسْنَدِand the Musnadالْفَارُوقِof Al-Faruqلِابْنِof IbnكُثَيْرٍKithir(٦٤٩/٢)(649/2).
And it was made good by Al-Mundziri and Al-Haythami; see Al-Targhib and Al-Tarhib (491/2-492) and the Majma'a of Al-Zawa'id (148/10) and the Musnad of Al-Faruq of Ibn Kithir (649/2).
