سُبْحَانَكَGlory be to YouاللَّهُمَّO Allahوَبِحَمْدِكَand with Your praiseاللَّهُمَّO Allah
Glory be to You, O Allah, and with Your praise, O Allah.
عُلَمَاءُscholarsحُكَمَاءُwise menكَادُواthey nearlyمِنْfromصِدْقِهِمْtheir truthfulness
Scholars who are wise nearly come from their truthfulness.
سَلُواAskاللَّهَAllahالعَافِيَةَfor healthوَالْيَقِينَand certainty
Ask Allah for health and certainty.
سَمَّىHe namedالنَّبِيَّthe Prophetﷺ(peace be upon him)بَرَّةًBarrahزَيْنَبَZainab
The Prophet (peace be upon him) named Zainab as Barrah.
سَيْفٌA swordمِنْofسُيُوفِthe swordsاللَّهِof Allah
A sword of the swords of Allah.
السَّلاَمُPeaceعَلَىbe uponاللَّهِAllahقَبْلَbeforeعِبَادِهِHis servants
Peace be upon Allah before His servants.
السَّلاَمُPeaceعَلَيْكُمْbe upon youأَهْلَO peopleالْدِّيارِof the homes
Peace be upon you, O people of the homes.
عَلَيْهِUpon himحَيَيْتُI have livedوَعَلَيْهِand upon himمُتُّI died
Upon him I have lived, and upon him I died.
عُمْرَةٌUmrah
Umrah.
عَمَلَانِTwo deedsهُمَاareأَفْضَلُthe bestالْأَعْمَالِof the deeds
Two deeds are the best of the deeds.
الْعِلْمُKnowledgeعَلْمَانِis two kindsفَعِلْمٌand knowledgeفِيinالْقَلْبِthe heart
Knowledge is of two kinds: one that is in the heart.
الْعَيْنَانِThe two eyesتَزْنِيَانِcommit adulteryوَزِنَاهُمَاand their adulteryالنَّظَرُis the gaze
The two eyes commit adultery, and their adultery is the gaze.
شَهَادَةٌThe testimonyأَنَّthatلَاthere is noإِلَٰهَgodإِلَّاexceptاللَّهَAllah
The testimony that there is no god except Allah.
الْغِنَاءُSingingيُنْبِتُgrowsالنِّفَاقَhypocrisyفِيinالْقَلْبِthe heart
Singing grows hypocrisy in the heart.
الشِّرْكَPolytheismفِيinهَذِهِthisالأُمَّةِnationأَخْفَىis more hidden
Polytheism in this nation is more hidden.
الْغِيبَةُBackbitingذِكْرُكَis mentioning youأَخَاكَyour brotherبِمَاwith whatيَكْرَهُhe hates
Backbiting is mentioning your brother with what he hates.
فَأَعْتِقْهَاSo free herفَإِنَّهَاfor she isمُؤْمِنَةٌa believer
So free her, for she is a believer.
صَلَاةُThe prayerالْجَمَاعَةِin congregationتُفَضَّلُis preferredصَلَاةًto the prayerالْفَذِّof the individual
The prayer in congregation is preferred over the prayer of the individual.
فَإِنَّكَFor youآتِيَّهُwill comeوَمُطَوِّفٌand you will perform Tawaf around himبِهِwith him
For you will come and perform Tawaf around him.
صَلَاةُThe prayerالرَّجُلِof a manقَاعِدًاsittingعَلَىis onالنِّصْفِhalf
The prayer of a man sitting is half.
فَهَذَاSo thisصَلِّprayفَإِنَّكَfor youلَمْhaven'tتَصَلِّprayed
So this is your prayer, for you have not prayed.
صَلُّواSend prayersعَلَىuponصَاحِبِكُمْyour companion
Send prayers upon your companion.
طُولُThe length ofالْقُنُوتِthe supplicationأَيُّwhichالصَّلَاةِthe prayerأَفْضَلُ؟is the best?
What is the best prayer in length of supplication?
الطَّاعِمُThe one who eatsالشَّاكِرُand is gratefulبِمَنْزِلَةٍis equivalent toالصَّائِمِthe fasting person
The one who eats and is grateful is equivalent to the fasting person.
الطَّهُورُPurityشَطْرٌis half ofالإِيْمَانِfaith
Purity is half of faith.
الطِّيرَةُSuperstitionشِرْكٌis polytheism
Superstition is polytheism.
فَمَاSo whatعَلَامَةٌis the sign ofإِيْمَانِكُمْ؟your faith?
So what is the sign of your faith?
فَمَاSo whatالْخَمْسُis the fifthالَّتِيthatأَمَرْتُكُمْI commanded youرِسالَتِيmy messages
So what is the fifth that I commanded you in my messages?
فَمَنْSo whoeverجَاهَدَهُمْstruggles against themبِيَدِهِwith his handفَهُوَhe isمُؤْمِنٌa believer
So whoever struggles against them with his hand is a believer.
قِتَالُFightingالْمُؤْمِنِof the believerكُفْرٌis disbelief
The fighting of a believer is disbelief.
قَدْرٌAllah has decreedاللَّهُAllahمَقَادِيرَthe measuresالْخَلَائِقِof the creationsقَبْلَbefore
Allah has decreed the measures of the creations before.
قَسَمَHe dividedقَسْمًاthe divisionsوَتَرَكَand leftفِيهُمْin them
He divided the divisions and left them.
الْقَصْرُThe shorteningصَدَقَةٌis a charityتَصَدَّقَthat Allah has grantedاللَّهُAllahبِهَاupon youعَلَيْكُمْ
The shortening is a charity that Allah has granted to you.
الْقُلُوبُThe heartsأَرْبَعَةٌare fourقَلْبٌheartsأَغْلَفُthat are wrapped
There are four hearts: hearts that are wrapped.
عَلَىUponالْمُسْلِمِa Muslimالسَّمْعِis to listenوَالطَّاعَةِand to obey
Upon a Muslim is to listen and to obey.
كَانَThere wasالرَّجُلُa manيُسَلِّمُwho convertedأَوَّلَat the beginningالنَّهَارِof the dayرَغْبَةًdesiring
There was a man who converted at the beginning of the day desiring.
