Pharaoh said to himself: If Moses says that they were on the truth, I would say:

فَإِنَّهُمْIndeed theyكَانُواwereيَعْبُدُونَworshippingالْأَصْنَامَthe idols

Indeed they were worshipping the idols.

And if Moses says that they were in misguidance and foolishness, the people of the assembly got angry and said, 'Indeed, Moses insulted our fathers.'

But Moses was more intelligent than Pharaoh, and Moses was on a light from his Lord.

فَقَالَSo he said::﴿(عِلْمُهَاIts knowledgeعِنْدَis withرَبِّيmy Lordفِيinكِتَابٍa bookلَاneitherيَضِلُّerrsرَبِّيmy Lordوَلَاnorيَنْسَىforgets)

So he said: 'Its knowledge is with my Lord in a book. My Lord neither errs nor forgets.'

He who made for you the earth a cradle and made for you in it paths, and sent down from the sky water.

And Pharaoh was perplexed and stunned and did not know what to say. So he said what all kings say when they are unable and angry: 'Said, If you take a god other than me, I will surely make you among the prisoners.'
